Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge Coming to former Reflections Site in 2027!

I have a feeling this resort will get a few comments/complaints similar to Boardwalk DVC - it looks like that arm of the building from the entranceway towards Pioneer Hall is quite long - maybe competing with Boardwalk's hallway length.

I'm still interested in the finished product and will want to try it out for sure, but agree it really should have been closer to Wilderness Lodge and farther from Pioneer Hall. The views alone are quite jarring, but also the beach that's been removed, the extra traffic that may use the Fort's boat dock, etc...for anyone staying at the far west end of LL, it would be closer/easier to walk over to Pioneer Hall for food, boats, etc.

I'll be at the Fort Wilderness Cabins in early February, so by then I expect Lakeshore Lodge to be pretty much looking in final form, if not yet open. I would most likely try to request certain banks of rooms that sit directly facing the lake without being in the U-curves where other balconies are looking at you - I prefer the feeling of privacy on a balcony as much as possible.

Thanks for your commentary mrsap. It helps me understand this project a bit better.
I’m sorry for any confusion, but I am just copying and pasting an article from a blog. I do not write these, just sharing information. If you click the highlighted titles, it will take you to the blog.

Even though I am very interested in the resort (not to buy), I fear it will be an eyesore like the PIT is when riding the monorail around.

As seen in the panorama photo above, the tent-like structures continue to be installed along the shoreline. These will be part of the Lakeshore Lodge hotel, but they are upcharge “bungalows” like we’ve seen at Wilderness Lodge and Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. Here’s a closer look at the progress on these tent bungalows.

I've heard them called A-Frames, but hadn't heard tent bungalows. They can be tentalows 🤣

Exterior Concrete Work Begins on Disney Lakeshore Lodge

Work continues on the cabins which, according to concept art, will have overhangs jutting out of the sides and outdoor patios. Each cabin should have a view of the water when all the work is complete.

Lakeshore Update: A large building under construction near water, with a crane and cloudy sky overhead.

Work also continues on the east-side wing of the resort. Over the last few weeks, we have noticed how far behind this section of the resort is compared to others. However, now more sheathing, air, and water barriers are being installed. This side may start getting some windows soon.

Speaking of windows and sliding glass doors, even more have been installed toward the middle section of the resort. Roof framing, including that of the red metal structure, continues as well.

The Floatmaster barge and crane are still present as work continues on a possible new dock for the resort. Through the openings of some widows, we can also see the steel frames of future guest room walls.

More red frames have been installed across the rooftops in recent weeks, though they will likely not remain visible once the project is complete.

These appear to be the beginnings of flat roof overhangs and towers, based on the old Reflections – A Disney Lakeside Lodge concept art. The rooftops also have slanted steel frames.

On the wing closest to Clementine Beach, more black sheathing has been installed over the yellow barrier. There’s also now a steel-frame roof structure over this wing’s red overhang piece.

While most of the orange-framed netting has been removed, the extra safety measure for crew members is still present by one section of this wing.

Continuing to mimic the concept art for the entrance of Reflections – A Disney Lakeside Lodge, even more beams have been added to the porte cochere area of the resort.

Reflections Lodge Concept Art
Although Disney has not confirmed how much the new resort will resemble the original Reflections concept art, the rooflines and overall design of the lodge continue to look more and more like the above image with each update.

Concrete work is well underway on the side facing Daniel Boone’s Wilderness Arcade at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort. In the section most visible to guests, nearly all windows and sliding glass doors have been installed.

Additional A-Frame Cabin, Entrance Work, & More Lakeshore Lodge Construction Updates

On Clementine’s Beach next to Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort, another new A-frame cabin is now under construction. This most recent structure joins several other A-frame cabins on both sides of the main Disney Lakeshore Lodge building. The cabins are straight out of the original concept art for Reflections – A Disney Lakeside Lodge, which was thought to be canceled, but was then resurrected as Disney Lakeshore Lodge.

Crews have also colored some of the cabin frames on the other side of the resort. Much of the steel is now dark brown instead of red or white. Each cabin should have a view of the water when all the work is complete.

Entrance

Even more beams have been added to the area which will be the entrance to the building. The framework is likely not complete, but it continues to also reflect the original concept art for the entrance of Reflections – A Disney Lakeside Lodge.

If the porte cochere area of the resort does end up looking like the concept art, it will be shaped like a wide “W” and extend over the main entrance.

Although obstructed in the concept art view, the first floor area surrounding the entrance is currently open, so it could be the future space for shops, quick-service dining, and guest relations locations.

The entrance awning beams also jut out of the rear side, so there will be a slight overhang on this side as well.

Lakefront Building

Although trees still block the view, we’ve kept an eye on the shorter building structure near the lakeshore.

Mostly made out of red steel, this may be a lakefront bar or restaurant. The original concept for Reflections was supposed to include a waterfront dining location themed to The Princess and The Frog. Additional beams and scaffolding have also gone up since our last update.

Red and silver steel frames also stick out of the resort at various places. These appear to be decorative roof overhangs, as seen in concept art.

Moving toward the leftmost wing of Disney Lakeshore Lodge, several more steel frames have been added along the roofline. If concept art is correct, these will serve as stylized overhangs, adding shading to balconies and nearby guest rooms.

Taking a full look at the left-side construction closest to Clementine Beach, more black sheathing has been installed over the yellow barrier, and additional scaffolding has been added as work progresses. Several construction vehicles are located in the courtyard area as well.

As mentioned in one of our last updates, concrete work is well underway on the side facing Daniel Boone’s Wilderness Arcade at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort. Several crew members were working on the project as we snapped these photos. Compared to our last update, a large section to the left has been primed or stuccoed.

Additional framing and scaffolding has been added to one of the tallest sections in the wing, which towers over Pioneer Hall, the home of the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue.

Moving to the right of the tallest section, what we believe to be an elevator shaft has begun to receive barriers and scaffolding as crews likely prepare for concrete work.

As mentioned in previous updates, this section of the resort is nearest completion, with seemingly all sliding glass doors and windows in place. Work on the exterior walls on this side is also progressing at a much quicker pace than other sections of the construction.

Treehouse villas is to Saratoga Springs Resort and Spa as [Cabins at Ft Wilderness] is to Lakeshore Lodge Villas? 🤞

True or False?

I'm just gobsmacked at the sheer size of this resort. It's really massive. I'm sure the rooms and A-frames will be awesome on the interior, but the exterior -- woof. I just wish they'd stop with these weird rectangular stick buildings and get something more organic that fits the area. I love the PIT rooms, but the exterior is . . . not good. This is more of the same, but almost even more jarring since it's ON TOP of the other buildings that are already there and has zero style continuity. It doesn't have to be a clone, but it's like they don't even TRY to be complementary to the area.
