Does anyone know how much Disney’s Magical Moments Pins are going to cost?
Thanks

If you check on the collectors board someone will probably know the answer.

I read that the 100 years of Magic special edition pins will react to certain things in the park ( I believe that was in Disney magazine). Has anyone seen or experienced this? I think they are supposed to light up at Fantasmic and at gate entrances. Just curious, sounds neat!

It is correct that the pins are $16 (after tax), and I did see one of the light up like crazy during Tapestry of Dreams. From what I could tell, they look pretty neat!

Are these sold in all the parks? And you need to get a different one for each park? Or does 1 pin cover all the parks?

I think they all work in all the parks. There are 5 pins -- one for each park and one general 100 years pin.

I just got back last night. I bought one of the pins. they cost $15.00 plus tax. they are ready to go and include two extra batteries. You only need one pin for all of the parks. You just pick the one you like.

yes they interact. You never know when. We went of the Great Movie Ride and it interacted. We went into the new attraction about the life of Walt Disney and it interacted. Went in the Millionaire show and it also interacted. the kisoks inside the hat they interact with as well as the parade.

they will also interact in all of the parks. You never know when it is going to happen. We were surprised when it interacted in the Millionaire show.

The only problem I saw was, we wished they made a sound or virbated. You get so wrapped up looking at the attractions you forget to look at the pin.

I was also surprised with the size of the pin. They are alot and I mean alot larger than the trading pins,l

I have the Hat one and most are in about the same size.

I just measured the pin. Length is 2 5/8 inches
Width at the largest part is 2 1/2 inches

they also interact in places they are not suppose to...first 3 rows in little mermaid attraction..LOL

It's not just the size, but the thickness of these pins were a surprise. They are not metal like the other collectable pins, they are actually plastic and about 3/4" thick tohelp accomodate the batteries. Here is a description I posted in another thread:

Interactive Pins!

Hi Everyone,

I just got back tonight from 8 great days in the World and boy
was it a blast. I was one of the first to purchase all 5 of the
Interactive Pins that went on sale just three days ago at the
Parks.

At first, I didn't think it was a big deal till I saw how many
different times and places the pins started sparkling on their
own!

Here's a few of the places the pins started sparkling at:

Haunted Mansion
Small World
Peter Pan
Voyage of the Little Mermaid
The Great Movie Ride
Pirates of the Carribean
River of Time (Mexico)
Honey I Shrunk the Audience
as well as all of the interactive kiosks whenever you get a
question right!

I'm sure there are a lot more places and times that they
become activated but I didn't get a chance to test it
everywhere since I only had them for my last three days there.

In fact, these pins were so new that about half the CM's that I
ran into in restaurants, hotels as well as the Parks noticed and
pointed at them immedately asking how they worked since
many of them have never even seen them either.

The pins sold for $15.09 + tax, any questions??

Like webmom said, each of the pins will work in all of the parks,
I tested three of them. the only difference between the pins
are how the lights are incorporated or arranged on the
artwork.

The Magic Kingdom pin has a picture of the Castle, AK has a
picture of the Tree of Life, Epcot's has a picture of Spaceship
Earth with Mickey's hand and the new "Epcot" signage and the
MGM Studios has a picture of Mickey's Sorceror Hat icon with
hand that tips the hat up i.e. identical to the new 12 story hat
in front of The Great Movie Ride entrance.

The fifth pin is just the "100 Years of Magic" logo but in my
opinion, the best one to have ! All of the pins say 100 years
of Magic on them and each pin has 5 twinkling lights arranged
in a way that compliments the picture.

Like webmom, I also wished the pins vibrated or made a noise
because many of the times when the pin began to sparkle, I
didn't even notice since I was too focused on the ride. The
other thing that struck me funny was that these pins are NOT
like the collectable pins that are all over the place. They are
actually about 2.5-3" wide by about 3"tall depending on which
design you choose and are made of plastic not metal. They are
also kind of hunky at about one half inch thick.

They are powered by two Button cell 2032 batteries and each
pin comes with an EXTRA set of batteries. They are fastened on
by metal backings but I wore mine on my tshirt and I found the
rubber backings you can purchase separately at a $1.00 a pack
to be more comfortable. They also seemed to hold on better.
The metal ones kept falling off and I thought I'd lose my pin on
one of the rides.

The neatest thing about these pins are that they don't just
randomly sparkle...depending on where you are drives the pin
to flash differently. For instance, when we rode pass the
volcano on the Rivers of Time ride, the pin only sparkled "red"
but during the fireworks sequence at the end of the ride all the
lights began to flash.

I hope this makes sense, let me know if you still have
questions. From what I heard, they plan to be selling this pin
thoughtout the 100 years of MAGIC CELEBRATION WHICH WILL
GO ON FOR THE WHOLE NEXT YEAR!

Hope this helps!

Wendell
