DISmoms Round TWO! Don't Axe, Don't Tell!! 4/30-5/4/10 updates 9/17

I think that's this guy!

I think you're right! I thought his diatribe on the home page was about society not tolerating his sexual orientation, and then I clicked on the Fairy Wedding link, and he married Tinkerbell - who is in the pink in Ellen's photo!

I have a question-does anyone know why my photos are sideways?? Is photobucket wiggin out??? Are anyone else's pics doing this? They're ok on photobucket- just sideways here. :confused3

Your pics look fine to me, Ellen - great in fact! Thanks for the side trip to the ball game, even if it was the Yanks! I would love a nice sunny day at the ball park about now!

Yep! :scared1: Well...whatever floats their fairy boat....

Your pics look normal to me, too. :confused3

Pics are back to normal this morning- it was yesterday that they were weird, must have been an PB thing.

Kara is leaving Florida this morning, ready to FINALLY see her new house!! Hope they're doing ok- I know it's going to be wonderful for them to get back to their regularly scheduled family life!:thumbsup2

Oh goodness, bless him

Ellen, you guys looked like you had a blast at the Yankee game and that stadium looks pretty awesome :goodvibes

Yes I second these statements. I guess it takes all kinds doesn't it? :confused3

I love the yankees pics too! You're such a good Mama (and wife) to join your boys in their favorite passtime.

Very cool pictures of Yankees Stadium! That place looks amazing and what great seats! My neighbors are from NY and HUGE Yankees fans! They would LOVE that place!

.....a 1948 $20 bill while paying for partial pament on his invoice today (I whipped out a $20 out of my wallet and "bought it" quicker than you could blink!).

Getting all caught up on yer trip report.

Life just couldn't get any better than this:goodvibes.

No wait.....

seeing "Mr Pumpkin" throw the first pitch at the next Yankees game =

That's funny - maybe you should start a Twitter petition - it worked for getting Betty White on SNL!:rotfl::rotfl:

Within no time we were exiting the bus at DTD, headed for a night of magical mayhem at the various venues here. Immediately, we stopped to take our Christmas card pic-

2010_0504dismoms20100049.jpg

Hmmm...we look a little tilted already... Our game plan was to go to Fulton's and sit at the bar, order some drinks and appies, and see if we were still in the mood for our 8:30 ADR at Raglan Road- we would just play it by ear. We love, love, LOVE sitting at the bar at Fulton's, because we love, love, LOVE the bartender & the food. And the drinks. DUH! And talking to the other people doing the same (although that always ends up being my thing, but whateva....). The key to our plan was to arrive early enough to score 6 seats at the bar....which we did! YIPPEEE! I guess we arrived at 6pm. The thing I love about this is you can order off the menu, absolutely anything you want, but you don't have to plan it 6 months in advance and plan exactly what time you'll be hungry. Planned flexibility is a PLUS! Cammie was VERY excited about the whole situation!

Of course, i was cool as ever about the whole thing-

2010_0504dismoms20100051.jpg

But I could hardly contain my excitement when Tony (the bartender) set this sangria down in front of me...

2010_0504dismoms20100052.jpg

Kara went all ITSK on us, as USUAL!!!!!

2010_0504dismoms20100054.jpg

We were all SOOOO HAPPY to see Tony the bartender- we had met last year when we brought the stick kids with us to Fulton's, and he ReMEMBERED us (of course!!)

2009_052006summer0043.jpg

We immediately got the crab dip, and debated on what to order-

2010_0504dismoms20100053.jpg

I was at the end of our line, sitting next to a very friendly gentleman and his wife, who were the parents of the other bartender that evening, NOT Doug. He was NOT Doug because he was really Andrew. You can follow that, can't you?? Anyway, NOT Doug's Dad, having eaten at Fultons several hundred thousand times, and being married to a lovely lady who writes a lot of food reviews on AllEars, had a ton of advice on what I should be eating. After a long debate on the pluses and minuses of Fulton's Conch Fritters and their scallop appetizer, I ended up ordering both- I was jonesin for some conch fritters, but I think Not Doug's Dad would have tossed me to the street if I didn't get some scallops, too. Well, anyway, that's my story and I'm stickin' to it. The fritters were soooooooooooooo good-

2010_0504dismoms20100056.jpg

As I explained to Not Doug's Dad, I can't get them in NJ- even though he kept on telling me I could get them anywhere. But I can't I tell you!!! I swear!!! :rotfl: The scallops though, were equally delish, and I am very, very glad he talked me into both-

2010_0504dismoms20100057.jpg

Joanie was having some fish tacos-

2010_0504dismoms20100060.jpg

Which she loved so much, she ended up making for dinner within afew days when she got home. I think Kara might have had that too? And Lonnie had lobster bisque? Cammie had mussels & clams and Pam had that bisque too??? I don't know, hopefully these other DISmoms will remember and tell you themselves.

Sorry to cut this in the middle, but I have to jump- I'm going to Sean's school to have his OT show me how to do joint compressions on him (it alleviates his stress- it's a sensory thing). There's a LOT more fun to come!!!! :thumbsup2

I never have had Conch Fritters but if they are fried I am sure I will love them. I will have to give them a try on our mini-trip over Halloween weekend. Sarah's school has in-service day Nov 1st so we are taking advantage of it and going to Disney for a quick, 4 day trip, mainly for Sarah to visit "Harry Potter".

I have to agree with you and disagree with NOT DOUG'S Dad. I have never, ever seen conch fritters in this neck of the woods. But they look super yummy and something I would love to try. That and sangria - yum!!!

Looks like you girls are off to a great start. I'm sure the mayhem is about to begin!

yeah for joint compressions!!! Do you do the combing techniique too. It is a wonder for beth.

food looks great

Hello from Ally's first swim meet at the new club! Will post tomorrow but so far Ellen is on the money with this latest update!

Sexy babes on the Christmas card pic! :thumbsup2

I love conch fritters, but I was told in the Bahamas that they are only in FL and Bahamas and heading south from there - I think they have to be pretty fresh :confused3

KARA!!! Welcome Home! Can't wait to hear all about it - more pics please!

Hi Ellen I will catch up later !! I came back from Lake George to find Judy in the hospital and today she had emergency surgery and Thank God is 100% better !! She even hopes to be home tomorrow !!
Now my good news I am going to Disney for FREE !! Yup I got the escort job and passed the first shorter trip with flying colors so I will be in Disney 14th thru 19th!!!!!

Oh goodness, bless him

Ellen, you guys looked like you had a blast at the Yankee game and that stadium looks pretty awesome :goodvibes

It was fabulous!! We never went last year when it opened, we were not "in the mood" to drive there after soooooo many baseball games with the boys' teams. Ok- really it was DH who put the kibash on it last year. Glad we finally saw what everyone was talking about!:goodvibes

Yes I second these statements. I guess it takes all kinds doesn't it? :confused3

I love the yankees pics too! You're such a good Mama (and wife) to join your boys in their favorite passtime.

Yes, I AM a good Mama! Thanks!! :littleangel:

I miss LOST too!!!! :sad1: What a great show- I really want to watch it from beginning to end, now that we know what it was. But who knows when I'll ha ve time for that!

Very cool pictures of Yankees Stadium! That place looks amazing and what great seats! My neighbors are from NY and HUGE Yankees fans! They would LOVE that place!

Tell them to go on Stub hub- there are a TON of seats on there, and not all are so expensive. As a matter of fact, the stadium was nowhere near full- the $$ is too high- and lots of people are trying to unload them on stubhub(which is where ours came from).

Conch fritters are kind of spongy- I really liked these alot. They were not greasy, either. Fulton's is one of my favorites for food! We're in WDW that weekend- but we're going on the cruise- it leaves Oct 30th! :cool1:

All of our food was so good- I think I'm going to make Pods go there with me in September....

yeah for joint compressions!!! Do you do the combing techniique too. It is a wonder for beth.

food looks great

We did combing when he was little. I really learned alot yesterday- his OT was an excellent teacher! Sean has been doing REALLY well lately- he's eating all kinds of new foods. Yesterday he ate a plate of pasta and 3 meatballs- 1st time in his life!! His 16th birthday is Monday, :sad1: we're going to have pizza & cake- it will be his 1st birthday that he eats them, I'm very excited!!!

Hello from Ally's first swim meet at the new club! Will post tomorrow but so far Ellen is on the money with this latest update!

SOOOO great you already have her swimming!!! What an amazing Mommy you are! :yay: Did she like it? How is Ally doing?

And ....what about Bucky?......

Sexy babes on the Christmas card pic! :thumbsup2

That makes sense- and yea, Kara- show us what you've done with that house so far!! You have been getting everything done so fast, I am amazed!! :worship:

Hi Ellen I will catch up later !! I came back from Lake George to find Judy in the hospital and today she had emergency surgery and Thank God is 100% better !! She even hopes to be home tomorrow !!

Oh Rosie!! So sorry about Judy!! But so happy she is better!! And of COURSE you're going to Disney!! :dance3: They would be crazy not to take you- you are such a sweetheart, AND a WDW expert!! :thumbsup2

Nice picture of you all in front of the Holiday sign.

We like to sit at the bar at Fulton's too for drinks and appies. It is fun.

Have you ever tried Portobello? Wow! We tried that place in March and it was fantastic. We just stopped for a snack, four of us-all ordering something different and shared, and it was great. Can't wait to go there again.

So did you make it to RR? If so, was Hottie McHottness there?
