Hi! Welcome to the long awaited pre-TR for our quickly approaching WDW AKV concierge EXTRAVAGANZA!!!!!
I'm Ellen, one of 3 DISmoms who will be writing this pre-tr & then TR- my hysterical DISpals, Camster0307 & Karajeboo will be joining in to make this the funniest, craziest TR EVAAAAARRRRR!!! The dates of the trip (for me, and my DGF, Lonnie) are 5/16 to 5/20/2009, and Kara & Cammie will be with us for alot of it. How did it all come about?? Well....
Last year, Lonnie & I went for a "last minute" (planned 7 weeks in advance) trip to SSR without our loving DH's and adorable little ones (see YA, suckers!
) and OF COURSE had the time of our lives!! I wrote my very first TR about the experience, (see the link down there in my sig? Awww...isn't it cute?
) and that's where I met Camster0307 & Karajeboo (who were attracted to the TR based on the endless flow of alcohol and thought of WDW WITHOUT their youngsters). Cammie is originally from NJ, so we arranged a meet when she was visiting family in August- I drove up the GS parkway and we hooked up at a rest stop (we're sooooooooooooo classy!)- here we are-
I was her 1st dismeet...awwww... anyway, Lonnie & I- oops, here we are-
had decided we DEFINITELY needed to repeat our trip, but this time, we would try to stay in the AKV concierge level (I own points at AKV) and I booked 3 nights.
We really wanted to focus on the animals- when you stay at AKV concierge, you have access to some pretty amazing and wonderful stuff- like a Sunset safari, a sunrise safari, and a whole bunch of food & drinks that are put out in the concierge lounge everyday.
I started thinking, we need to book another night so we can do the sunrise safari (which during our stay is only offered on Sun morning) so we got an AKV value room on DVC cash discount for Saturday night ( that's 25% off the rack rate). Anyway, it occured to me that it was a special thing to get concierge DVC room (there are only 10 of them, and depending on how you divide it up, it's even less than that), and I would like to share the specialness with some special friends! So, I started working on Camster0307 when I saw her at ANOTHER meet in November- this one at ESPN on the BW at WDW (hey! what about the GSP reststop???)-
I wish ALL of us were coming!!
And I harassed her mercilously after i had gone home and she was still there, via TM. But she kept saying no....so, a couple of months later, I asked Karajeboo, and she said SURE! Now, some people may think it's a little crazy to invite a stranger to sleep on your pull-out couch....and it IS....except Cammie knew Kara, and I knew Cammie, so I figured it was ok. I mean- how crazy can Kara BE????
I guess I'll find out soon enough....
And now, something even MORE spectacular happened- it turned out there would be like a bazillion DISsers there at the same time!!! And they were organizing (thanks Alanrenfroe, you thong wearing, tiara & tutu sporting, lover of the hokey-pokey-and-all-things-brazilian organizer, you!
) a MAMMOTH MAY MEET on May 17th at 3 pm in France- OOH LA LA!! How could Cammie miss THAT??? Well, she COULDN'T...especially after she had the bazillion DISsers harassing her everyday! Sooooo...looks like we're in for a VERY good time!!!

It will be fine! I am so JEALOUS you get to go so much- and, actually they probably could hold a piece of luggage and deliver it to AKV- they did it for me on the cruise, but it was for a week- I left luggage at AKV, then it was at BWV when we got back! Have a great time this weekend- save some KP adventures for US!!
