Yea, I hollered...any a you woulda done the same!!!!

See the guy selling me the pass? I think it was his first day...he was not used to the cockeyed optimism and unbridled enthusiasm of a first time AP holder... I think I made him very afraid to come back to work the next day!:lmao:

Ellen, you made a lot of us afraid to come back the next day!!!! :rotfl2:

OOOHHHH Kara-your new friend is a hottie!:rotfl2:

If I hadn't had a few drinks beforehand I NEVER would have posed with him! As it was, I was thinking, "Jeff who???" j/k - love my hubby...... but dang! This boy was HOT!

YIPPEEEE!!!!!:yay::banana::yay::banana: Just booked my airfare for our September trip, very low only $198 pp- Pods & I are going to Vero Beach for 2 nights and then OKW for 4 nights. Lonnie & Mike are joining us at Vero Beach for the weekend...and then we are actually going to WDW to relax. I wonder how successful we're going to be????:rotfl: It occured to me last night that I'll need to plan my ADRs on time at 90 days (not like I wouldn't anyway!) because of free dining (even though we're not a part of it). Although, there's at least ONE ADR that won't be affected by free food syndrome...Pods and I are going to go to V & A's. I feel so grown up!!! A suit in WDW- wait til I tell DH...he'll be soooo thrilled!;):rotfl:

Hello ladies!

My mom and I were at the MMM so I thought I would pop over and check out your TR. I am so glad I did, you all have had me in stitches. :rotfl2: :thumbsup2

Ladies:

Your trip report is full of entertainment. I love all the pics.....they are making me so hungry and......wait....oh yeah.......THIRSTY!

Seriously, the meal at Sanna looks fabulous. I regret not making an ADR there, but I think I will save that for a DH and I only trip.

Can't wait to read about the Safari. The value studio looks pretty nice.

Aaaah - Kara! You snuck in your post before me!

I don't have time right now to continue with my posts from our dinner at Raglan Road but I will leave you with this little teaser.

Here's what Kara was drooling over all night (and NO - it's not the Bread Pudding! Although now that I think about it Kara - that caramel sauce would go just perfectly with this "dish". ;) ).........................

Ok girls - I desperately need to get my big ol'butt to the gym. Will be back this afternoon to finish posting about our first night!

I hope he is there Sunday night to seat me! :woohoo: Wow, what a hottie! This is my family's must do restaurant while we are at WDW. We love it there.

FYI (for your info), TIW = Tables in Wonderland card. Good deal IMHO (in my humble opinion). J/K (just kidding) cause I'm being a smart***!!!! :lmao:

OMG (oh my goodness) I'm LOL (laughing out loud) thanks for the 411. BTW (by the way) Im a smartfart too :lmao:

OH YA where/how do you get a TIW card?

It's a card you can purchase with an AP. $75, but if you are in an eating and drinking frenzy (can't imagine who fits THAT description...:rotfl:) it pays for itself. They add in a gratuity with the purchase- 18%. What we did is if the service was EXEMPLARY (shouldn't it be glowing, that word? Sounds very impressive);) We put down a little more. :thumbsup2

What a great series of updates! I can tell how much fun you ladies had! There was a lot I wanted to comment on but didn't take notes so let's see if I can remember anything...

Isn't the margarita stand at DTD just the best?! I :lovestruc the margaritas there.

A pop rocks martini is officially on the list. I'm not a big seafood eater so probably wouldn't eat there but the bar area looks awesome! Note to self: bring own pop rocks.

You and your stick children are adorable!!!

Raglan Road. Talk about yummy!

Sanaa looks like a beautiful restaurant!

And that bathroom! :worship:

Can't wait for more, ladies! I hope to run into y'all someday in WDW. You look like a lot of fun!! :) :upsidedow

Chris, I just called RR for you, I left a message for Hottie McHotness, and asked that he seat you on Sunday. Do yourself a favor, drop your napkin on the floor before he leaves.........:rolleyes1 Did I say that???? ;)

This report is a hoot. I love it!

Thanks! We're having fun writing it! We laughed alot on the trip, so it's good to laugh about it again now!:goodvibes

There WERE kids in there, I'm still deciding whether or not to go back with my family in November. Sanaa was great.:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

You can find us at Raglan Road. That's where the DISmoms will be going wild from now on.:rotfl:

Chris, I just called RR for you, I left a message for Hottie McHotness, and asked that he seat you on Sunday. Do yourself a favor, drop your napkin on the floor before he leaves.........:rolleyes1 Did I say that???? ;)

Yep, we leave today!!!!:banana::banana: And yeah, I'll drop a line here and there about our trip. I'm not as articulate as you ladies, but I will try!

Oh, Kara, :worship: Thank you so much. I'm dreaming about Hottie McHotness already. But do you really think I should drop my napkin with my 16 and 13 year old daughters with? I mean, what kind of mom do you think I am! :lmao: A dang good one, if you ask me! And with a hottie like that, they have to learn from someone and why not from me at Disney! :rotfl2: We will try to keep it discreet, and if we see him I'll be sure to let him know you highly recommended his services! :rolleyes1

On the way to Kidani, being that it was approaching 8:30, we called to ask if we would be able to still have dinner- they said no problem as long as we made it before 9 pm. I HATED leaving the DISmoms, so since I did, I wanted to be sure we were doing it for a reason...or else, I guess, we could have turned around and gone to Raglan Road with them.... Damn that Sanaa!!!:rotfl:

Anyway....we pulled into Kidani and looked for parking- which was easy to find, but we could have parked a LOT closer- only I didn't know because it was our first time! Although the parking garage isn't going to win any awards for themeing, I LOVED that each section is named after a Lion King character- and it corresponds to each elevator which goes up to the villas. Makes it very easy to remember where you parked, and it will be GREAT to stay at Kidani with your car parked right below in the shade (not that we usually have a car at WDW, but nice for those that do!) and the elevator just a short walk away.

We were a little backwards trying to find our way to the restaurant- fortunately, a CM helped us out. We checked in at 8:45 and were given a beeper, so we walked around and checked it out-

They beeped us, and we were on our way into the beautiful new restaurant. Inside, it feels like you are in a tent, or under the trees in a far away place...
the decor is VERY dramatic, the pics don't do it justice!

2009_052006summer0056.jpg

It would be so wonderful to have lunch or an early dinner here, because the savannah is right outside the large restaurant windows, so you'd be dining with the giraffes and other animals- which you can't do anywhere else at WDW. Obviously, we couldn't see them- but we'll be back!:thumbsup2 It had been 1/2 an hour or so, so of COURSE we were thirsty!! I ordered the Capetown Flight (which paired with the scallops I was having for an appetizer).

2009_052006summer0058.jpg

From left to right, Moschofilero from Greece, Chenin Blanc from So Africa, Chardonnay from So Africa. I am a wine lover, to me this was soooo much fun! I loved being able to sample the different wines with the food. I did enjoy all the wines, but I liked the chenin blanc best (big surprise- I love chenin blanc).

Loni ordered fine champagne (pronounced sham-pan-ya :rotfl:) to have with her meal. First we tried the Bread service-

2009_052006summer0061.jpg

We had a choice of 4 breads and 3 accompaniments. For bread we chose (from top to bottom) Roti, Paneer Parantha & Naan. All were very good, but the Paneer Parantha was exceptional. It was filled with cheese and spinach I think- very yummy. The dips are Roasted Red Bell Pepper Hummus, Cucumber Raita, and Coriander Chutney. Our fantastic server had recommended the coriander chutney when we mentioned that we both enjoyed hot, spicey food. If you don't go for heat, stay away from that dip!:scared1: We could have eaten a gallon of the stuff, it was that tasty to us, and we could cool down our palates with the raita which was yogurt based. Honestly, we were both dreaming of that bread service all week. YUM.

Next came appetizers- I had Mustard Seed Crusted Scallops with a coconut cream sauce- delicious!

2009_052006summer0063.jpg

And Lonnie had chosen the salad sampler. For her three choices of the 5 offered, she had (from top to bottom) Chickpeas with cucumber and tomato, Carrot, orange and mint, and Roasted potato, corn & spinach. I liked the chickpeas best, myself.

Loni handles a crisis at home...

Out came the main courses- I enjoyed Tandoori Lamb Chops served with basmati rice. I have to say, they were perfectly done, but by now I was soooo full! Still, I did my best-

2009_052006summer0074.jpg

Lonnie tried another tasting type of meal, this time she chose (from 4) Shrimp with Green curry sauce and chicken with red curry sauce, accompanied by five-grain pilaf.

2009_052006summer0076.jpg

OMG, we were really full! The portions were not huge, it was just that we were trying alot so it was very filling. Her curries were yummy, the chicken was so moist and tender and the shrimp were well cooked.

Sorry, but no dessert for us! We were ready to pop! We were able to use my TIW card (for the first time- Woohoo!!!) and waddle out happily. We both genuinely adored this restaurant. The flavor profile was so different from what my mouth usually eats, and I truly love trying new things. Our server was very enthusiastic and he really helped us with his recommendations, especially when we were choosing that bread service (his favorite was the paneer parantha and the coriander chutney- mine, too!). I LOVE that they offer so many different wine flights- I actually could have had another flight with my lamb, and had we not been out before hand, I might have!

Some art on our way out-

2009_052006summer0064.jpg

And a stop at what HAS to be the most beautiful restroom in WDW- check out that granite!!!

2009_052006summer0065.jpg

2009_052006summer0069.jpg

Seriously- isn't the way the granite goes up the wall next to the mirror just so cool? Lots of people came in to this bathroom to take photos and gawk while we were there. Can you blame them?

Cont'd next post-

WOW!!!! Sanaa looks amazing! This is probably a stupid question, but is the restaurant open to non-DVCers? I wonder if it will be added to the dining plan. If so, I am totally there.

Hubba Hubba!!!

Hey DISmoms!! We are booked for next year at BCV for May 1st to May 4th!!!! I'll be able to book Friday night (April 30th) on cash later- it's not out yet. So excited we're all going again- and you will love my friend, Joan, who is joining us this time for the whole trip- Lonnie can only come on the weekend because she'll be working next year. Very happy we'll be able to use our APs again before they expire!!:cheer2: Hope there will be some MMMs doing the same thing!

Whoa! How did I miss this announcement? WAY TO GO MOMS!

Nice! Elizabeth and I would like to do a weekend at Vero sometime as well. We owned a timeshare in Sebastian for awhile and I loved the laid-back feel of that part of Florida. We drove down to Vero on our last trip and I really loved it there.
