my real issue now is whether i will like the DVC rooms. just not sure. i am afraid of losiing that disney feeling with them. i was going to sign up in a couple weeks so that i could use the developer points for my april trip but SSR is just too out of the way for my mom. we will be eating at alot of restaurants in epcot and grand floridian on that trip and not sure i want to deal with getting there if we stay at SSR. i'm confused

Well only you can be the judge on whether or not you'll like the rooms or not. That's why you should go to the tour. You'll be able to see the AKV, SSR, and BLT rooms. But I feel their very Disney. But you have to remember, most of the DVC resorts are already part of the regular resorts, besides SSR and OKW. Now about SSR, your getting free points to use. Free points are free points! I think you'll be happy with that resort. I've been there 3 times and it's very nice. But like I said, only you can decide if its for you!

Although we have been Disney fans for over 20 years it was not until 2 years ago that we bought into DVC. We had some of the same reservations as you but having done it we love DVC. The rooms are really nice and it is no harder to get places on property than any other resort. Our home resort is SSR but have fallen in love with OKW. We may even buy more points at OKW. Check it out for yourself.

I just got back from SSR. I walked through the area where they have the sample rooms set up and the models are for Animal Kingdom and Contemporary. They seemed really big! They were really cool! The decor is amazing!

Yeah, I did see the AKV rooms, they are huge!! I didn't see the BLT rooms yet (only photos), but I'm gonna go see them next week when I go. Can't wait!

Hey gang!

It was great seeing you all again! Sorry I haven't checked in right away, but I got home Saturday night and almost immediately came down with bronchitis. What a way to waste the weekend. Today (Thursday) is my first day back at work where I haven't felt like coughing up a lung. I hope nobody else caught it.

I always enjoy seeing you folks (even the ones that aren't talking to me ) and, I gotta say, I'm thinking more and more about WDW in December. Obviously, I've seen DL about a thousand times during the holidays, but never WDW. It might be fun. What were the dates again?

Thanks for posting the pix. It's nice to relive that Saturday over and over through the miracle of imagination (or Kodak, I'm not certain...?).

Yo know, looking back at the pics, that sangria looked pretty good. By the time I arrived, the glasses were much emptier than that, so I didn't get the full effect. But I have a bad history with sangria, anyway.

Nexttime we do this, let's start a new thread so we don't get so lost. This one is up to 20 pages already!

Candice.. I was thinking the same thing...that's why I want to check out Contemporary DVC, at least from there you can see MK.

I actually like my offsite timeshares better (larger) but I do like being at the Villas at Wilderness Lodge or the Epcot DVC resorts (Boardwalk, Beachclub) during December when I spend more time at the parks (I like Christmas and Disney during the holiday season is nice).
