I leave the sammiches for while heading down the road.
Now I understand the "travel lasagna". I thought that was your lunch while on the road. We usually end up eating lunch while rolling (hence the WM sandwich) and snack along the way. We usually aren't hungry when we stop for the night or don't feel like cooking anything.
Found my Disboard sign while tidying the basement in the house this morning. Now to remember to put it in the RV basement before we leave.
Mine stays in the motorhome basement under one of the slide out trays. I forget it is under there most of the time.

When are you leaving? Canada is starting to get cold.

Today was vacuuming, cleaning, lubricating and applying 303 on the leather and the dash. This thing gets really dirty and dusty. And no idea where all the little tiny rocks come from.

I normally carry an 8ft folding table, but I also have a 10ft table we use at craft shows. The 10 ft would also fit in the basement, so I threw that in for the DIS Meet dinner.

We put most of our Disney clothes out already. It is still supposed to be in the 60s and 70s before we leave, so I'm keeping my shorts in the house for now.

Need to make a list of things from the house. Big air fryer (we have a little one in the RV, but it won't do very many toasted ravs), food we want to take. Debating on putting a few bottles of wine in now or wait. I don't know how it would like days of warming/ cooling.

Thinking about bringing one of the 3D printers, but it takes up room and spools of filament take up more. We are coming for 2 weeks and there won't be a lot of extra cabinet space.

3 weeks and we'll be there!

Looking at Page 1 of this thread......

It's a week (7 days from today 10/13 Sunday) until the first of us DISMeet folks start to show up.

@Disneypeach , to be specific ( I only know what I read on page 1 of the thread). After that, the DELUGE begins with MORE of us arriving early (and some of us staying later).

I need to "up my game" to pull the Aliner to FL this fall.

Tik tok. :hourglass

DW and I invade in 17 days.

Well I am beat but the RV is washed roof and all. Also got some needed house chores done this weekend. Still making the progress I wanted so all that is left is the truck needing a good cleaning inside and out. It will also make a quick stop by the shop to check the alignment and go over it for the trip. I have the wheels for the little trailer are ready to be dropped off at the shop so they can swap them as well. I have to make a few trips into the office this week to do a presentation on Wednesday plus Lauren comes home for most of the week on her Fall break. Gonna be a busy week though hope to pick at a few of the golf cart maintinence tasks when I can.

I also have been shopping some local sales, got the beef for the stroganoff today on sale for nearly half price and froze it. Picked up my 5 gallon water refill that I mainly use it for coffee/drinking. I started doing this years ago and it just seems to work well for me so why change it. Gotta start making the shopping list so I can start picking off the things I need and get the perishable items before I hit the road.

I have two folding tables in the RV, think its. a smaller 5' and an 8'. They are always with the RV and no problem to break them out. I can probably get some table cloths from the local party store, they always have blow outs on them for cheap.

I think by next weekend all the mechanical and cleaning work will be done, then I can focus on the loading up the RV and making sure we are ready to go. Pretty much want to be done and ready to roll by Wednesday evening. That way when Jenn arrives Thrusday we can just focus on getting her backed in, load the golf cart and trailer, and get settled for the night.

I read your earlier post about washing and waxing. That's a lot of work. I cheat. Taking mine to Blue Beacon later this week. They do a decent job and their Rain-X treatment makes it look like it got waxed.

I cheat a little too. I use Gabes Pride once a year to wash the roof and get rid of all the black streaks. Then I use a spray on, rub in and rinse style wax, its very similar to the rainx treatment as it doesn't require buffing. Rest of the year I use meguires wash and wax in a foam cannon for the rest of the season. Either way, getting the roof and the entire coach is a chore, takes about 4 hours setup to and putting everthing away and its tiring.

The truck will take a while to wash and wax with a buffer. However, it's overdue for a full polish so why not make it shine.

Tick tock tick tock!
No truck to polish or RV to stock,🛻🚚
For me, 3 wks & my flight will have departed from The Rock!

This group is the place where no one will mock,
When I say, my 2 suitcases really are packed and ready to lock!🔒

And, on wood, you know I knock,
For I’m watching the Atlantic like a hawk
(But I’m not one who likes to gawk)👀

Always casual - and mindful of the wind- I’m not bringing a frock,👗
And hopefully I’ll have no need this trip to see a Doc😷

On vacation, any time will be beer o’clock.🍻
And time for puzzles! But please don’t let me see the picture on the box!🧩

Hmm…. I coulda/ shoulda started this with a walk!

Great poem, WitF. Sorry you get to miss out on all the cleaning, waxing and packing fun.

And Happy Thanksgiving, BTW. One of my project managers is from Ottawa. I was telling her about you and she said; "Wait until you hear them talk". Her dad is from Newfoundland.

My thought was wait until you hear our DIS Friends from Alabama talk. :lmao:

I can't say too much. I'm from southern Illinois and we all have a distinct way of talking too. I think of it as a slightly more refined Alabama accent. :duck:

Lol, we will need translators!

Thank you for the Thanksgiving greetings!

I’ve actually mentioned to Boomer1 that some translating may be needed!
Actually, truth is, as long as I’m careful to s l o o w my speech and enunciate carefully, ye will have no problem!

Sounds like we’ll have a real mix of accents!

I'm born/raised in Ohio (Midwestern American accent) but if you want to lay a foreign accent on us, I'll harken back to my undergraduate Engineering days with Grad Students teaching Undergrad glasses (they couldn't talk worth junk but they dressed well (we took note of that)) so I still got something out of those 3 months. :teacher:

@WalkingintheFog Yup lots of cleaning and waxing....things that usually happens every fall, now its just mentioned because the trip timeline is what is driving the dates more then just the annual need. One thing I won't need to worry about is my bagage weight, I already know its going to be over 16000 lbs....

More items checked off today, took care of a slow leak on DD car (stupid screw in the tire) and got new shoes for the golf cart trailer. The old ones where bad, more cracks then dry lake bed. Friend thought I was lucky to take it 65 miles round trip to pick up the golf cart.

Rest of this week will be focused on work unfortunately. I get to make a presentation to a big chunk of our company on all recent projects completed and planned for Q4 2024 or Q1 2025 that has or will improve resilliancy to our world wide edge network. It is nice to be given the opportunity to toot the teams horn, however, lots of prep going into a 25 minute presentation of this level and many meetings with my director and VP going over it.

Thankfully, by the time I am settling into FW, the days I do have to work is mostly planning some QA deployments and making sure software upgrades stay on track.

The biggest thing this not close to retirement guy has to sort out is what days to schedule PTO. Tow south, tow north, those are easy. In between just trying to figure out what days to enjoy full days and when to just go after work.

We are leaving in 8 days......I have lots to do. And with the new LL system you can book the stuff 7 days in advance of your stay. So I think that's Monday for me. Lots of ciphering to do..........
