I have also been trying to get in one night early , Nov. 1, with no success. Our daughter’s flight lands at midnight so we will need to be in the Orlando area on the 1st. There was no availability at the Kissimmee KOA so I booked a site at Tropical Palms. If I am able to get the extra night at The Fort , I will cancel the night at Tropical Palms.
I did get the 1st in the end by (as Ed found) taking the 1-7 available date and hoping to be able to adjust to departing on the 6th when I check in in person....

HEY, Hey, hey!

Bert's still just a baby! Take it easy on my guy!

Wait till he's my age (50+10) and THEN you can have yer fun....

In my book he's still Road Runner - and I'm still Wiley E. Coyote.

i appreciate @jbrostek giving bert a hard time. I do it too but i am older than him. It is not near as funny coming out of my mouth.

I see people picking up Nov 1. That is great for me if we have the RV to bring down. I need someone to babysit Whisky when we get in on Nov 2, so we can pick up our bibs.

RV place sent an email they are waiting on parts. That is not boding well for us bringing the RV. I have looked at cabins and none are available for Sat check in. Only Sunday. I need to check in Sat for the race.

The race maps for the Wine & Dine races dropped today. They are all Epcot-centric.

I am doing the 5K and 10K and here are the maps for the 2024 races.

And for Kris and Bert, I've got the Half map too. No whole marathon for W&D.

The Half gets out on World Drive (in reverse fashion) from Blizzard Beach after coming through DHS.

I like that my 5K and 10K races finish in under Spaceship Earth. That's the classic finish for the marathons I've done (2X) and that downhill section to the Finish Line is memorable. I'll likely have a tear in my eye as I go through under the Big Ball. Because I probably won't be doing it again in my lifetime.

Good luck you young people!

PS - gotta get up REALLY early because bus service from the resorts starts at 3am for the 5am official starts of my two little races.

I read they moved the starts up. Another reason not to take up running.

I think that was only for the Half Marathon that Bert and Kris are doing.

Not that it matters for me. I never sleep the night before a Disney race anyway. I fear oversleeping and missing the start so it's a good thing I'm only doing 3.1 and 6.2 miles on my two mornings.

Plenty of time to nap after I get back to the Aliner after the race.

@bama_ed I mean I do 5K and 10K at Disney, just not at any pace that would ever be called a race. Why rush!
James,

The W&D 5k was untimed last year (apparently they don't even record times/results).

The W&D 10k WAS timed last year (about 12,000 entrants) with the slowest net times at about a 26 minute/mile pace. So absoLUTEly no rush at all.

Maybe I will have time to stand in line for a character photo (for a change)!

We just got back from Harrisonburg yesterday, great trip to see Lauren. Now I have 4 weekends to do all the planned maintinence, clean it all and pack. I plan to pick at it from the start so I have time to work on other projects as well in attempts to finish them before the holidays. I guess I should also decide if I want any new magic bands, though pretty happy with last trip.

I have one more, sort of, camping trip.

Next week I'm heading down to do an on-site visit to two of the system hospitals I support. They are both nearly 2 hours from my house and a little over an hour apart. I meet with one at 0730 and the other at 1pm. So I'm taking the coach down the night before and "camping" on the hospital parking lot. About 11am I'll head over the river and through the woods, literally, to the other, then home that afternoon.

For @Part-Time Paradise or any others familiar with eastern MO, Farmington in the am, Sullivan in the afternoon. 1 1/4 hours between them on MO-8 that is literally a wind around and up and down through the Ozark foothills.

Should be a fun drive in the coach.

After that it is generator service time (the filters and oil came last week), start packing to be ready to leave on Halloween evening.

Our eldest daughter began working on a 1000 piece puzzle yesterday, which reminded me of Ed and his love of puzzles. I have admired his puzzle set up at his site in the past. Side note the skeleton is not our daughter but the dining room is serving as a muster area for new Halloween decor for the Farmstand.

Krista, can we we get a pic of the box or poster or what the finished puzzle should look like?

I have one new puzzle for the DISMeet but now I'm thinking I may need to get a second one (for after we finish the first one).
