The fun begins!!! I started our trip planning spreadsheet where I sort of lay out my plans for parks, ADRs, when and where I need to be. We have been doing this for years (pre park reservations) which is nice because it allows me to think about my days and figure out the best use for them all. Since I plan on working part of my stay there, it lets me sort out what days to take completely off and what days I will just got explore and enjoy after I get my hours in.

It also gives me the chance to meal plan beyond morning breakfast which I know I will eat back at the camper. Right now I plan on activating my AP on Monday with first day at MK before our pot luck. Outside of that, have not picked what days I am going to plan on working and what days are just enjoying it. Either way, looking forward to it all. We are also planning a possible DVC trip for my birthday (though a little later in March).

You're way ahead of me, James. Donna is going to work 5 of the days (40 hours) we are there (16), but hasn't thought of what days or how (4 ten hours, 5 eights, 10 fours). When we had to do park reservations in the past, I mapped things out much more. I suspect this year will be the night before or morning of decision on what parks we do. I did book some ADRs last week. I grabbed Le Cellier, Shula's, Yak & Yeti, Boathouse, Topolino's and Yachtsman. I did have a Victoria and Albert's booked, but we aren't really foodies and Donna is picky enough that a prix fixe menu may disappoint. And at $350/person, I figured a gauranteed menu was better off.

If anyone else has favorites, let me know. I have some of our favorites and some new places, but I'm always looking for something new to try.

That is my plan, do about 5-6 days work while there, take the rest off. Specially when Melissa is here. As for parks its more just what I want to do or have a plan, plus track all my reservations. With AP you still have to make reservations if its not a GTG day. Even then have yet to see a blocked date.

We did Victoria & Alberts for our honeymoon, the it really is more then the food, its a dinning experience. Well worth it, though think it was closer to 600 a plate with wine pairing. I think youll enjoy it.

As for other reservations, we have not set any yet. We are looking for when Melissa is here, something she has never done before. Plus we are planning to enjoy food and wine.

For 600 a plate you can come to my site, I'll cook fillet on the grill and make a burnase sause with asparagus and potato croquettes. Cesar Salad tossed table side with homemade wine. And you can throw crap at me while I am cooking, it will be part of the experience.........

I know it sounds completely outrageous. However, I will say that when dinning at a michelin star resteraunt the quality is impecible and it really is an experience. I think experience is worth it, not somehting I would do often though for that price, but would go again at some point or to a similar place.

And sure I can cook some good food myself, yet I am now here near even the 100 dollar a plate steakhouse good much less Victoria & Alberts good.

I’ll just charge $300 a plate…
What a deal! :)

I did see the wine paring was an additional $250/person, so there's the $600. If I was more of a foodie and into the "experience", I'd probably go for it, but I'm inherently cheap. Watching Donna not eat half of it because she doesn't like it (or know what it is) would give me indigestion.

Spencer,

What time should we be there? :snooty:

Just tell her like the 'grey stuff' its delicious....

We did the pairing and a champagne toast since it was our official Honeymoon dinner (though there where many, that was the super special one.)

So planning wise still finalizing where to stop each night southbound. Just need to make a few more phone calls to make sure we are all set. Then I can get back to planning my work and play days and a general idea of what I want to do.

Anybody up for a Whispering Pines evening? I love the atmosphere there and the food options for a snack or desert are good.

Don't know if it is worth an ADR now. We have been able to get a walk up spot most evenings. Especialling in the Fall.

Had an eye on Whispering Canyon myself...and not worth an ADR according to Birnbaum's :)

Me too! Started this trip's plan the night I stayed up until midnight lining up ADRs. Taking work with me, but not planning on putting in full days of work...took the whole time off but for returning sanity, want to stay ahead of some easy things. Anyway, days with ADRs dictated which park for the day (forgoing the park hopper this trip) but left holes in schedule...one weekday for SeaWorld, another day to meet a friend in Orlando?...and debating a Mickey's Christmas Party...PaHunter would have insisted on taking photos of the entire parade, maybe even two nights.

Right now focusing on the ADRs with Melissa. For myself, I am on kind of a wing it feeling. plus in the first week already have two ADRs with the pot luck Monday and HDDR Thursday. I have a feeling I won't have an issue finding ADRs, and with food and wine festival, I know I can enter the showroom empty and easilly find myself waddling out at the end of the day looking like a stuffed bear.

Right now I am thinking might kick off my trip with some time over at MK on Monday once I have the crock pot going, then head back after the afternoon parade to finish up the foods and be on time ot the Pot Luck. I usually start with MK on all our trips so its a personal favorite for me.

Disney is the one place I bring a crock pot. So easy to put something in to cook in the am , and come back from the parks to a dinner. I do leave it outside and on its own power line. No bears yet in disney. And the insta pot is better for this as the lid locks shut. I have seen the size of the disney squirrels. I am not fighting them for food.

Not sure ill crock up any other meals usually results in a lot of food. Usuaully I leave it indoors, but then again on a 50A RV its really hard (though not impossible ) to blow a breaker. At leats if the pedestal goes out, I get a text. And the circuit I use for the crock is usually not loaded even when I am there.

I have my blackstone which i really good for singler person meals. Though I have no problem dinning out as well.

There are bears in Disney Spence, might be time to think about changing the routine. Just something to think about.

I only made one ADR for Boma for DH’s birthday. We have a couple of walk ups we enjoy ( Pizza Ponte, Polite Pig, Geyser Point). Otherwise, we enjoy cooking at the RV, easier on the wallet and the waistline!

Getting so close!!
Additional information for me and the wife:
Hometown: Canton, GA

We actually added a week to the beginning of our stay some time ago. So now we'll be at the fort from 10/19 - 11/9. We were hoping our daughter would be able to join us the week we added but her plans changed. So now it's just the two of us and our dog for 3 weeks.
I think we're going to try for the 1700 loop. We have driven through every loop and have a list of sites we really like, like, and avoid at all costs (we have a 37 foot travel trailer). However if we can't get a site to our liking in 1700, we'll see what is available in the 2100 loop when we arrive.

We haven't decided what we'll be bringing to the shin dig yet. We are flexible and can see what is needed when the date gets closer.

So far our plans already booked are:
10/24: Monsieur Paul (wife really wanted to try this one as we've never been)
10/29: Carriage ride at the campground
11/3: Rose and Crown dining with reserved seating for Eat to the Beat
11/5: Up Close with Rhinos

We'll likely make more dinner reservations but are more apt to just look same day or night before. Several meals will be at the food and wine booths.

I am sorry. I posted several months ago that we would no longer be coming. We sold our rv. I should have individually posted to the people who were making trip plans.

I will be calling down to the Fort next week to setup the group gathering for us. I have reservation details for all of us except for:
  • cruising spud

Sorry cousin spud. I remember you selling, but didn't catch that you weren't going to make it.

Thanks GA WDW Fan! Sounds like a great plan.
