JETS70 (Steve and Teresa) will be bringing Oreo dirt dessert.......we will come up with a good Jungle Cruise alternative name for the potluck. As we get closer, we may be able to come up with something else to add on the entree side.

That sounds interesting and look forward to trying, is it similar to fried ravioli?
It may be the same or similar, James. I have started to see them in other parts of the country and by slightly different names. 10 years ago, you never saw them outside the StL market unless it was a restaurant started or run by someone from here. An Italian place in Orange Beach had them a few years ago. We asked about it and the owner was originally from StL. Joe (Tigger92662) said they have them in the Chicago area now.
Jim, do I need to bring my 2-slice toaster or my 4-slice toaster to prepare and taste these? :rotfl2:
No toaster, but a big air fryer would be nice. I used to have to bring a deep fryer and oil, but air fryers do a great job for less calories.
PS - listened to the Indians/Cardinals game on my drive home today (last home game of the season for the Cards). St. Looey won 2-1 on a total bust from my Tribe (passed balls, fielding snafu's by Cleveland) in an otherwise low-hit/great pitching performance by both teams. Let's see how the regular season ends this coming week.
I didn't get a chance to catch today's game (I was driving home from a Harvest Host stay), but I saw the results. Kind of a meaningless game, except for the Guardians trying lock up the best record. Cards announced the season attendance, 2,897,XXX. First time in 18 seasons we didn't break 3 million. Hopefully it is a wake up to the owners to spend a little more money this offseason. They have cheaped out the last 2 winters and it shows. I know the Diamond (Bally Sports) deal has had the finances in question, but at some point they have to get out the check book.

Okay, it's official...all (but one) stop down and back reserved in addition to planned fuel stops (thank you for the heavy planning, jbrostek!!!), extended Fort campsite reservation paid in full, park tickets paid and linked for 10 day park hopper along with Mickeys Christmas Party on 11/14, several ADRs made,...now just to make daily itineraries (ya know, which rides and spur-of-the-moment eateries to consider)...and then food packing list. Everything else is just minor details, lol.

Now to ride the high through next several weeks of reporting to work. But oh, so worth it!

Hey Steve!

Do you mind confirming the city/town you live in? I thought you are around Ashland, but wasn't sure. Send it to me in a PM if you want. I'm making something up for the DIS Meet.

My parents grew up in STL and toasted rav was plentiful in SE Missouri. STL vocab such a part of my family that mom called a grilled cheese sandwich, toasted cheese. It didn't really really leave my lexicon until I got enough dumb looks several years into being in the Army.

Really 6 weeks. Uff. Oh and training for that half. Well still hoping the RV will be ready. If it’s not hoping we can snag a cabin and bring Whisky.

Outside of my one dinner ressie am nit ready for anything. Also no idea what we are bringing to pot luck.

My only accomplishment is I ran 5.5 miles on Saturday. First time over 5. Did a two hour walk on Sunday. Knee is ok so running tomorrow.

@garneska Glad the knee is on the mend. I am sure the RV is purely frustrating. Do they even have and estimate on when they will work on it or get it done?

Nope i am hoping it will be mid Oct. Which of course is when we are heading (by plane) to Ohio for a wedding. If that does happen we might just pick it up Friday Nov 1 and start the drive to Disney. Not sure we will make it all the way to Ocala though. However, if we can get to Eagle's Roost which is mile 5 in GA, and we leave early on Saturday. i still might have time to get to Disney and pick up the numbers for the race. Just checked. Expo is open till 3. If we leave by 8 am should get to disney around noon. it will still work.

Took down the Halloween decorations from the loft, now have to sort it and see what I can fit. Also bought some crap, and have other stuff I bought on clearance. Now I need a theam and some coordination of an idea. So , I am drinking. It will come to me soon..... or I will fake it when I get there. Eaither way works. I am probably going to fake it since I have been drinking since 6 and have no ideas.... but don't tell anyone.

You know if you dont come up with any ideas, just have a few drinks the next day. Something will hit you....either an idea or your DW...

I started "the list" of things to get done before the southbound departure. It will include all the maintinence, cleaning, shopping and finally packing I need to do before the southbound departure.

Not much planned for decorations.

We check in on Wednesday Oct 30 to set up for the DisMeet (and watch the golf cart parade) then Thursday Oct 31 go to Wide World of Sports (in the morning) to get W&D bibs and swag for the 5/10k's (with ToT that evening).

All that to say that I considered bringing Halloween decorations and participating in the parade but given the short cycle time till when I'd be taking them down on Friday Nov 1 AFTER doing the W&D 5k at Epcot EARLY in the AM, I've decided NOT to bring decorations. Still debating about candy - don't know how many ToT'ers will be in 2100 loop (of course some). Maybe we'll make a token effort with 1-2 bags then when it's gone, we're done.

ED

PS - and yes I know I could leave decorations up after 10/31 but ...... nah. :sad2:

Trying to add 11/1... now I get to experience the daily multiple check that I have read about so many times...lol. Trying to "add" the day with a 1 night ressie (which the first time I tried it actually returned 2 site types, but wrong ones). Haven't seen any type available since then. The other method I am trying is creating a new ressie for length of stay starting 11/1 instead of 11/2. Will keep trying and see what happens... gives me something to do on the road at hotels....

There's always Lake Louisa SP or O'Leno SP where I'll be the night of the 1st. Both are pretty close to the Fort, but not quite "in the bubble".

Yah... I was thinking KOA if I did that, but I was more interested in getting there and being able to stay set up that extra night. Won't bother coming early for a 1 night park and move I don't think....

Best chance probably as we approach the PIF time for those coming around that time I assume....

Well, Jimmy, I can see a Full site right now for arrival 11/1 and out 11/7.

Usually, you can drop nights AT THE END of a reservation when you check in in person (I've done it recently) although I've only pushed it 1-2 days and you would need 5 nights dropped (nights of 2nd-6th in this new reservation). Then your current reservation (which arrives on 11/2) would become the continuing stay reservation (and this is the one @Teamubr provided to the group reservation team to get us located together in 2100). So you'd have to get the new reservation added to the group stuff so you don't have to move.

Gonna send you a PM.

I have also been trying to get in one night early , Nov. 1, with no success. Our daughter’s flight lands at midnight so we will need to be in the Orlando area on the 1st. There was no availability at the Kissimmee KOA so I booked a site at Tropical Palms. If I am able to get the extra night at The Fort , I will cancel the night at Tropical Palms.
