@Teamubr Do you mean Whispering Canyon? (never heard of whispering pines).

I would be down, though if its a nice day/night might enjoy Geyser Point bar and grill a bit more.

We plan to go to Geyser Point some time during our stay, @jbrostek, so maybe we could hit it together. Other than Sat night Nov 2, we are pretty open till Wed Nov 6.

We've tried Whispering Canyon at WL and they gave me a terrible meal so I won't be going back.

Definitely going to check out Club D3 (Benita says as she sips on a whiskey blackberry bramble)

clubd3.com

I did buy a t-shirt and a challenge coin on the website, Benita, and I will rely on the wisdom on the old male elephant of the herd, @TheRustyScupper , to guide me in my global Serengeti journey and provide sage wisdom and advice as to the pouring and sippings that I should choose. Given that the F&W Festival will provide additional booths/opportunities for countries not in World Showcase, we will be in a bonus situation:

DW is not so keen on my D3 approach but her foodie side is interested in the offerings that she can eat.

@bama_ed Sounds good to me. Right now other then HDDR with the gaggle of us I have made no ADR plans. EDIT oh and much food and wine festival stops when in EPCOT.

Melissa flies in on the 8th, though think you are gone before she will have a chance to meet you. Think she will be ready for a few days of being wined and dined after first quarter ends.... so I should work on some ADRs for that.

So Tron will have a standby queue during our DISMeet dates. Cool.

I'll have to ride it ONCE so to me this is the ride to get into line for a few minutes before MK official closing. I rode Guardians of the Galaxy ONCE (I even opened my eyes during the ride ONCE) and checked it off my list. I did ride Rise of the Resistance 2X on our Thanksgiving 2022 trip and have checked that off my list.

ED

PS - the reason I have to ride these stomach-churning rides (like Pandora at AK too) is to have street cred with our kids. I can off-handedly say, "oh yeah, I rode it - it was just okay" to cover my reason for not ever having to ride it AGAIN. Carousel of Progress is more my speed now.

@bama_ed the benefit of Tron is it is SUPER short. I like Guardians better. While my stomach can handle it i rather save my stomach for Guardians than Tron, but you have to do it so you can say you did.

I've seen the YT videos of the ride, Kris, and you're right it is a short ride. But I will have to revisit them.

Ed, your like one of those people that look for bolts on the ground under the rollercosters......I am like one of the people that bring bolts to the park and leave them under the rollercosters.......

Actually, roller coasters don't bother me too much. The big tall, fast, smooth steel roller coasters at places like Six Flags are the ones I love. Even wooden ones are okay, Spencer. It's the herky-jerky movements that I don't like especially if I can't see them coming and mentally prepare. And GotG is roll-pitch-yaw all at the same time.

Rock-n-Roller Coaster I can survive (fast but smooth). Space Mountain has bothered me more as I've gotten older because if I'm in the 2nd seat of each car, I can't squint ahead in the dark to see which way the next curve goes. Pandora dipped and turned quickly.

I might survive Tron because as I recall it looks smooth. In fact, I should ride Tron because I remember the summer that the original Tron came out in 1982 (as I was starting college) and what an impact it had (computer technology) on the movie business. And I played the arcade Tron game as well (and knew how to beat it).

So it might not be so bad after all.

@Bishoparc, I never got a message re paying you for HDDR …..Did I make the cut (no worries if I didn’t, just want to be sure!)
Thanks!
That's my fault, I counted one short. We'll call in tomorrow and get you added. Will message you as soon as it's done. My dad ended up having to be admitted to the hospital again for his heart and had another surgery today so this week has been crazy.

---
I think I have everything updated on the food list so far. If I'm missing any usernames on the master list, please let me know. We'll be printing name tags w/usernames on them that you can write your actual name on for the meet & greet.

I thought something like that. You have a lot on your plate. Don’t worry about me! Family first!

In preparation for the Food & Wine Festival at Epcot during our DISMeet, I ordered a copy of the "Festival Passport" for DW and myself off eBay.

20240906_142845.jpg

It lists all the locations of the food/beverage booths/opportunities with menus and some pics. It is basically listed in clockwise order, beginning with the locations in front part along the monorail loop (whatever it's called now) in Communicore and near Test Track and then around the countries in the Mexico direction.

The book has some pics (not every location) which are helpful (no prices but you understand it's appetizer/finger food snack portions and drinks).

The book are free in Epcot but for $3 each I like having something to hold in my hand and flip through the pages rather than squinting at an app on my phone. It was worth it for me to get in advance and peruse it then I can be ready on D3 day with at least SOME idea of dishes to try. My books arrived today exactly 7 days after I placed my order.

It gives me something else to look forward to.

I just stick to all the blog posts till I get there and get one myself....good job thinking ahead.

I admit I'm old enough, James, to appreciate the smell of ink on a glossy page of paper.

Blog posts on a pc are, to me, just a big version of my phone screen.

No one will be surprised at this recent picture me:

And during fall football season here in town for college football, I admit I go to Barnes & Noble on Sunday afternoons and pay $5-6 for a Sunday edition of the local newspaper (dropped my daily subscription years ago) and I only read the sports and comic sections. Of course all the sports stories (and others) may be available on-line but I appreciate the *tactile* relationship with my newsprint that a back-lit screen and keyboard cannot provide.

:teeth: ED

PS - and a lot of the food options in the passport look delicious to me! party:

I bet. I am old school enough that I prefer the printed books for Food and Wine so I can check things off. I am internet bound enough that I dropped my news paper subscritption 22 years ago and been reading online since.

I never once thought about trying to buy those littel booklets first since I read enough posts about some of the offereings and well, read all I wan't, my opinion will change once I see it myself.

Put us down for a dessert. Unfortunately, it will be something we will buy when we get there. I would love to bring our famous homemade ice cream, but wouldn’t be able to fit enough in the small freezer.
