I am putting something together for the DIS Meet and would like to know everyone's hometown and state. I have met many of you at prior DIS Meets and know where some of you live, but please let me know in the next few weeks. You can post on here, if you are comfortable or send me a PM and I'll keep it confidential.

Thanks,

I thought "Titletown" was Athens. :confused3 :duck:

You Mid-Westerners know that Saban won 5 out of 6 over Kirby, right?

Nobody can win 'em all.

Heck, last I checked, "Athens" didn't even make it into the playoffs last year. Amirite? :confused3

Ok so for HDDR we have
@Part-Time Paradise(2 adults, 2 children)
@Bishoparc
@Teamubr (3 adults)
@jbrostek (1 adult)
@BenitaN (2 adults)
@tripleb
@Boomer1 (2 adults)
@Disney Peach (1 adult)
@Sjm9911 (2 adults, 1 kid)
@MrsPAHunter (1 adult)
@himandher818 ( 1 adult)
So for me Thursday 11/7 works. If this is ok with most or all we can chose a time and section. I think 4pm time is not great, so we have 615 or 830 to pick from. The categories for the dinner show are basicly floor seating ( best ) for about 74$ or balcony for 5 dollers less. I suggest the floor seating. Especially with the larger group. Any other thoughts welcome.
Thank you for pulling the list together! Sounds like 11/7 works best so will shoot for that as soon as booking opens tomorrow. I know @tripleb had to drop, @WalkingintheFog are you just a party of 1? Anyone else need to add or drop before we make the rese? We are AP's and Chase holders so we will get the discount.
Anything individual families need to do on this?
I'll just pay it and then folks can Venmo, Applepay or whatever me their share. I'll provide "proof of life" of the reservation as soon as we get it booked

For the potluck, we're going for "Jungle/Jingle Cruise" themed. If folks want to start dropping in what they're planning on bringing, I'll get it added to post 1.

For the fireworks cruise, shooting for 11/6. Will book one boat for 10 tomorrow when booking opens.

I apologize to everyone for not being able to sign on often. Every time I turn around, we've had another life emergency happen. Wife's grandma (95) is in the hospital now but we are on schedule to get everything booked.

Arc, I suggest we break the pot luck into "Entrees", "Side Dishes", and "Desserts" and assume two guests per the 20 cabins/sites average that's about 40 people.

Just wanna make sure we don't end up with 20 bowls of mac n' cheese (although I could eat about half of those). :teeth:

Foggie said they are a party of 1 in prior post.

Also, I love the "Jungle Cruise" theme. I have a 58 minute "Jungle Cruise Boathouse Loop" background music file that was heard overhead while you waited in the ride queue. It sounds like a radio broadcast with announcements mixed in throughout the musical interludes. I got it 12 years ago!

It would provide the proper "ambiance" for our gathering.

ED

PS - plus I have a speaker and microphone for use during the dinner/announcements or for later fun (although I'm afraid @tigger92662 will want to use it for a karaoke night and that might wreck the internet when he attempts his Michael Jackson/Thriller performance. :scared1: )

That's great Ed, yes would love that! I also have a speaker/mic combo deal I'll bring as a backup. That will be great ambiance!!

Yep…. Party of one!

Yep…. I added Thursday night to my first 3 nights.

Yep….. Wednesday night great for MK firework cruise

Potluck……I’ll be lucky if anything in left in the pots when I arrive!
(Monday flight arrival is 7:45pm…baggage claim, get the car rental, and straight to the Fort…likely absolute earliest there is 9pm… I will bring homemade cookies with me in case anyone still up for late dessert!

St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador (I’m from the island portion, so I typically just say Newfoundland…(it rhymes with Understand)
…….. and we call ourselves Newfoundlanders!

You'll have to meet our poster @Boomer1 and DH. They are in the area around Nova Scotia and New Brunswick. They are scheduled to be at the DISMeet.

Thanks for pulling it together.

I offer my services to make a signup genius for the potluck and/or make a Signal chat for attendees. It's a good messaging app that users don't have each other's contact info to get connected, just a link. Might be better to coordinate while we're at WDW than the forum.

I will bring the sangria, I'll test it again next month. Worst case we will have to add sangria to it. Lol. And I will do a entrée, so ground smoked zebra stuffed with greens. To keep in spirit of the theam. For everyone else, smoked meatloaf with spinach and garlic........ I think I can make enough on rhe smoker.

I'll do a bunch of deviled eggs. That's not all I'll bring but I want to get that on the list. To me it can't be a picnic/tailgate/pot-luck outdoor meal without deviled eggs.

Somehow I think this crowd might have that covered. I mean I am planning to bring a case of wine from our favorite local winery. :)

Though if we are going Jingle Cruise theme I might have to make sure I have all the workings to mix up a Jingle cruise inspired rum drink I found....

For the pot luck I can make my beef stroganoff and bring a veggie and dip tray.
