This has been a thing at racetracks and some campgrounds I've been to that allowed carts. The liability amounts seem the same too. I think the tracks and cg's are tired of getting sued when someone does something stupid in a cart.

Been seeing this requirement more and more often. Heritage Cove in PA, Anchor Down in TN, Margarittaville (all). I have not run into a race track requiring it yet, though usually don't have one with me.

If you have a personal cart it's just something you deal with, though the cost is about 80 a year. Not sure how that will play out for rentals.

Have friends that owned resorts that rented boats and jet skis. They had hefty insurance to cover the equipment and anything stupid a renter did.
I would imagine the cart companies already had this covered.

Personal carts will probably be the most impacted.

IF you RV with a personal cart, you likely already have it because so many require it. I know Ken carries a policy on his (the cart I plan to bring down for the trip)

@Sjm9911 Worth reaching out and asking.
I did , and the rental company was taken by surprise. They previously dropped off in ft wilderness. They talked to thier lawyers, and didnt efhave anything to hang there hat on. So I got a disney cart. Witch is what they wanted. $$$$$. Almost 100 percent price difference. Unfortunately I wasnt willing to be a pawn and not have the golf cart for Halloween. I was lucky to get anything. This is how they want it. Lucky to pay 2x for a certain tine and your grateful to get it. Still may buy one, as it may be cheaper.

It was not cheap last time we rented one but nice to have. Since I have the ability to borrow a friends golf cart and @MrsPAHunter is gracious enough to tow that trailer with it on it down as we plan to caravan together. I will be able to save that money this round.

The cannot do business on Disney property stems from the few that where intentionally leaving their carts on property between rentals. There was a recent discussion about this being kind of relaxed recently on various FW Facebook groups and mentioned here. I expected it to change and other then the insurance part people like Kenny have already been doing their business off property. And may find a way to meet the insurance requirement.

I just added a second reservation for myself (November 2-6), with the idea of deciding by the October 28th cutoff date whether to go with that or my original N November 2-9. I think I saw Monday the 4th as the planned "group event" date. Over the past decade I have had opportunities to visit my parents in Venice, FL multiple times per year with kid vacations and/or because we had regular layover flights to Naples where I would drive up to Venice for visit. However, with our change of management in 2022 and a few other factors, those flights have gone away, and I will not have had the opportunity to visit in over a year at that point. So, may take those last several days to go park in their driveway and visit before having to drive back north. In any case, we'll see what goes on between then and now. I still get a day to visit EPCOT, have son over from school, and the DIS get together.

A couple of things we're exploring for the meet:
  • Fireworks cruise (books 60 days out)
  • VIP tour
    • This is something I've always wanted to try. Can do up to a group of 10 (which the more people, the more affordable it becomes.) Can do as many parks/rides as you want in a day. Includes free ice cream bars among other things including transportation between the parks (must have a valid admission.) Minimum you can book it for is 7 hours and the prices start at $450/hour depending on the day. We're going to call and see what the pricing is for that particular time.
  • Would also love to do a group reservation for HDDR
If you're interested in any of those things, please do let me know. I realize that those things come with a cost, so not forcing anyone into any of it. Just wanted to see if there was any interest. We're probably doing the fireworks cruise regardless.

We've never done HDDR. I was looking to find a day to do it. With the gang would be fun.

I am in for HDDR.

The VIP tour would be fun. I might have to ask DW for forgiveness there. @Bishoparc DM me on this, my DVC membership could knock 20% off that price, we can find out how that would work.

On the fence about Fireworks cruise.

i would be interested in fireworks cruise and the VIP tour.
On the fence about Fireworks cruise.
We did the fireworks cruise a few years ago with our friends. It is nice and relaxing. It left from the Fort boat dock and headed over to 7 Seas Lagoon. The driver was good about pointing out interesting things about the lake (a submerged wall that was originally intended to create waves towards GF). About 1/2 hour before fireworks, we pulled around in front of MK with a half dozen other pontoon boats to watch the fireworks.

It is a nice view, although it was before they extended the light projections down Main St, so I'm not sure how much of that you would see.

@Teamubr i was thinking the fireworks cruise was for Epcot. i knew the did them for MK but was concerned what you can see. i am still interested. i think my issue might be whisky. I guess first thing is first get her back in the RV and see if she does not freak out.
