DISLander's!!!!

Hi Kar, Welcome to our thread. I haven't been on much lately as I've been working a lot from home so that takes up my DIS social life, which stinks. I really miss the girls when I can't get on. I am looking forward to getting to know you. I am QueenMom, Disneymommom or the Staff Psychiatrist, so I wear many hats here. I am trying to get into photobucket to post a pic so you know who you are talking to.

This is DH and I at the World's Largest most unique McDonald's on Sand Lake and International Drive in Orlando. It was such a cool place to visit! Only wish I'd have DGS with me, he'd have loved it but would have to keep a close eye on him as it's huge!

Here's a pic of DGS and I back at Christmas time, he was trying to wink but he wasn't as successful as he thought lol.

Here is one of myself, Princess2cuties (one of the girls you'll see here on our thread, and my DD, it was last year at a DIS meet, first time I got to meet Princess2cuties.

OK Kar, one more for your viewing pleasure, lol. Here is DD and DGS and I at Disney back in 2006. It was DGS's first trip to Disney and naturally Mom Mom wanted to be right there for his first trip!!!

I live in Louisiana but am currently living justs outside of Kissimmee and Disney World. DH got a temporary transfer here so we are only here till December. This weekend I am going to get to meet Carla (Leger) for the first time. I just love DIS meets. I already have LGMH in my purse to trade with her. I'll be posting pics after the weekend!!!! I hope everyone else has a good weekend planned? What are you all doing?

I'm meeting Tat for dinner at 8 at the Rain Forest cafe in DTD. I'm going to get there around 7 and hang out with her for an hour before we eat. I can't wait.

I hear she had an accident at the water park today and some kid kicked her in the head and she got a migraine. I sure do hope she feels better now, the last place she needs to be kicked is her head! poor thing has gone through enough up there! She just txt me and told me she'll be okay just laying down for a while. That stinks she has to go lay down at Disney, that's not fair, let's go find that kid and kick him or her in the head!

I wanna go I hope you girls have a great time!!! I am with you...let's find the idiot that kicked Tat. That poor girl...that's the last thing she needs I hope she ok.

Aww poor little Stinkerbelle, I feel so bad for her. At least it's giving you the opportunity to stay home and start planning your packing.

Yes, having down time to get things done is nice! I'm pretty happy with what I have done for the trip so far. With the weather changing I can now pack a lot of our clothes needed for the trip.

HEY BETSY!!! Slow goes the battle!!! So far nothing broken so that is good!!! We took a major DETOUR on Sunday and took ourselves over to DISNEYLAND!!! My FIRST time ever. Ya, we had been to DTDL several times BUT never the LAND!!! And the first thing I bought was:

But I had wrote teacher a note letting her know he was on medicine that makes him super hyper, so she chalked it up to that, his crabbiness

He threw a little tantrum when he was not allowed to play with what he wanted and he had to be sat by himself in back of room. After he calmed down, she told him he could come play, but he was stubborn and just sat there

Then, at clean up time, he did not want to clean up and the aide had to walk him around, making him clean up

good times

THe teacher told me she did not tell me as she was afraid I would get upset

I told her, that is okay, she can tell me when he does not behave

Hello friends. Just wanted to let you all know Chris and I are on our ay home. Only have about 123 miles before we get there. I'll be posting pictures but I'm not sure if I'll do a full on TR. This has been the worst trip to Disney we've ever had. There were parts that were fun but there's a lot that I don't want to relive either. I just wish it could have been like last year.

Anyways, hope all is well here. I skimmed the last page of posts and wanted to say welcome to the new member of DIS Land. I look forward to getting to know you.

UJ, welcome home. Ill be subbing to ur TR when I get home. Hope you had a fun time.

Ahh...I LOVE BB and was THRILLED that DAN won BB and Keesha won the $$$!!! Did anyone see "Baller" and "Matty" from BB9 sitting in the audience??? GREAT FINALE!!!! I loved when the jurors were grilling Dan and Memphis and I loved when Renny took off on Jerry!!!

Biggest Loser was awesome...waiting on Amazing Race and Survivor as well.

Hey Sharky: HOW WAS SUNDAY AT THOMAS??? Any pics??? I was thinking about you and Trent as I knew he was soooooo excited to see Thomas!!! And as far as school goes, there will always be an adjustment period, you know....school for kiddos Trent's age can be FUN at times and SCARY at other times!! Oh and the weather, everyday BRIGHT SUN and around 73 degrees, no humidity!!!

You will have to let me know what you think of my happy place as compared to WDW. I have never been to WDW because I am California born and bred and there are 6 of us so that makes WDW a lot more expensive.

Howdy Michele!! I LOVED DL AND CA!!! LOVED IT!!! But I do not think you can compare the two.....DL opened in 1955 and WDW opened almost 20 years later in 1971.....that being said the CASTLE in WDW is HUGE, HUGE and I was very surprised by the size of the Castle in DL....but then realized the "age" difference.

It is beautiful just the same!!! On Sunday as we entered Main Street in MK, I was busy looking at a CART full of Characters that pulled in behind me....Mickey, Minnie, Mad Hatter, Goofy ..... DH went to sit in that little park right across from the stairs to the train station ..... when I was done taking some pictures I turned to him and then he pointed down Main Street towards the Castle....yup, having been to WDW at least 12 times, we were surprised at the Castle. I am so sure those that have been only to WDW and then go to DL will agree with me!!!

Just to show you, this is a pic I took in 2006 at WDW

We were thrilled to pieces with Indiana Jones and Pirates!!!

We did not do all that much as we were just walking around mostly to get the feel of DL. My DS and DH did California Screamin' and LOVED IT!!!

I will tell you the EASE of getting back and forth from your car to the Parks and DTD is so much better than WDW. We jumped on that Tram, jumped off at the parking garage and were at our car in no time flat!! That to me is so important after a long, full, sunny day at the Parks....in the World, you could easily wait 30 minutes for any form of transportation to your hotel or car....

Anyway, our new home is DL! And we are not going anywhere for a long time!
