Over the last several years, and just after the 60 minutes program, I have been a little fanatical about disinfecting rooms before my family or I stay in them. I usually purchase a can of Lysol and spray everything in the room. If you do try this try to do it when you wont be in the room for an hour as the smell can be strong. I was told that the most disgusting things to build bacteria
are the TV remote and the phone. You should never sleep on or use the comforters as they aren't changed as often and purchase new pillows at Wal-Mart before your stay as the pillow cases are changed but not the pillows. Pillows cost about $6 each and can be thrown out after your stay. The pillows have sweat, skin cells, and those ooky little bugs that crawl in your hair. Side note, did you know that currency has the highest concentration of feces than any other object.
I by no means have OCD just shows like 60 minutes and CSI with those ultraviolet lights have really freaked me out. When I go to bed at night in hotel rooms and the lights are out, images of all those white blotches on the walls and ceilings pop into my head. I have never had major problems with DW resorts before except for once when I was staying at CBR and the cleaning staff left bags of laundry in the room and there was a certain type of follicle was left between the sheets and on the sink. I called the Cleaning Manager and while we were in the park our room was totally cleaned and little rabbit towels left for the kids. Every time that I reserve a room anywhere I always request an extra cleaning to the room, besides my issues my 19 month old is very sensitive to bacteria and can break out in a rash or get sick easily. If you request extra cleaning make sure you tip appropriately.
I dont mean to disgust anyone just trying to make sure no one gets sick for their WDW trip.
Does anyone else have any tips to share?
