Does anyone have a Samsung dishwasher? Bosch? Thoughts?

TIA.

I have a GE and it's ok. Nothing fancy, but it does the job and is quiet.

My parents have a Bosch and love it. It was more $$, but it cleans amazingly well. It's very quite too. Only caution I'd make on those is that some of the larger plates (for instance, those big square plates that are popular now) don't fit in it. At least they don't in their dishwasher, and it's brand new.

We have had a Bosch for over 7 years run's great and very little sound.
It cost about $500 + but when and if this one dies I will buy a Bosch again.

Ron.

We just had a Bosch installed yesterday. Found it in Consumer Reports. (Not sure if it's the current issue or last month, but had kitchen appliances in it) Ran it last night, did a great job and VERY quiet. Ours was $700.

Our house came with a Kenmore which is a POS. When it dies, I will probably get a Bosch. Neighbor has had hers for longer than ours, it's quiet and cleans great. She is also a researcher, you should have seen the files she compiled when looking for a car. Definitely doesn't make these decisions quickly or lightly.

We have had our Bosch for over a year, and I'm completely happy with it. We got a fairly basic model at Lowes and it is hands down the best dishwasher we've had.

We have had several GE dishwashers (installed by the builder) and they've all been terrible. We had an LG -- junk. We now have a Bosch, rated a top buy by Consumer Reports. WE bought it at Lowe's for $499 two weeks ago, and it had a tag in it designating it as the CR TopBuy. My only concern is that the interior is MUCH smaller than the LG we replaced -- on the LG, we could get 6 cups on each side of the upper rack; with the Bosch, we can only fit 5. It does seem to do a nice job. Get the Consumer Reports info -- that will be helpful.

We just got a new Bosch to replace our old GE that came with the house. The basic GE was the loudest worst dishwasher ever!!! We got the Bosch during the appliance rebate program at Sears back in April and it's supposed to be the quietest of them all according to Consumer Reports. We spent less then $500 as Sears was having a good sale. You can't even hear it running. We love it.

I got a Bosch last year, around $475 on sale at Sears. It was one of their cheaper models but I am very happy with it. It's so quiet compared to my old one that was probably 20 years old. I have a small condo and used to hate watching TV when the old one was running.

I got a Kitchenaid last Christmas. My MIL had had problems with her recent Bosch...she had one of the $$$ models but it broke. She had been a Bosch fanatic but was told they aren't as good as they used to be (sorry guys) by the repair man. Don't know if this is accurate info though...Anyway it scared me so I got the Kitchenaid. By buying the floor model at Best Buy I got mine for $550 and got a $100 rebate.

I wanted #1 QUIET, stainless interior, and heated dry. I replaced a crappy, LOUD Kenmore that came with the house. So far I love my kitchenaid it has been great. I love the hidden controls and clean looking stainless exterior.

Oh yeah...I was considering the Samsungs, They were nice looking and had great features...but there was no heated dry option. Since I frequently do multiple loads, that didn't work for me.

We have a Frigidaire that we bought a year ago to replace a GE Profile that quit on us (in the middle of our 4th of July cookout for 15 people). It was very reasonably priced and was the only one in the price range that advertised its quietness. Quiet was important to us since we have an open floorplan.

I've been leaning toward the Bosch. Best Buy has them on sale for around $600 but it's stainless and I wanted black. (This model doesn't come in black.)

So I also checked out Sears who had the Samsung for about $100 less. The associate said many of his customers were happy with Samsung refrigerators but he'd not yet had much experience with the dishwashers.

Thanks for everyone's answers. Any others?

i am typing with one hand. About 2 hrs ago as we were pying our $150 ER copay, i said to dh, that that amt would have pd for about 1/2 of our dishwsher! You see, I had a glass explode in my hand as i was washing it because we were waiting to save enough $ to replace our broken dishwasher! because I DIDN'T want to use our WDW vacation money. How does that saying go ...penny wise pound foolish. not to mention messy and painful. Plus ours broke about a year ago, i debated about buying a new one since this one is old, but dh fixed it & a salesman told us they don't make them like they used to.

When iwas researching last yr. Most people said if you can afford the Bosch that is the best.

Bosch!!! We just got one in January and it cleans like a demon. We got it because it was the only thing we could find to fit our space and it was around $700. I'm a big fan and my huband is amazed because he's able to load the dishes without rinsing, lol!!

We've had our Bosch for over 10 years and I have NEVER EVER had a single problem. Cleans as well now and it did when it was new. Bought a floor model at our local appliance dealer as they were updating their floor models. Got a great price at the time. Will buy Bosch again. Definately.

Another Bosch fan here. It was the fourth dishwasher I had in seven years, and it has lasted three years and still is going strong. Incredibly quiet and cleans wonderfully as long as you use rinse agent. I didn't use rinse agent at first, and my dishes were not clean -- even food was not removed -- but the rinse agent made all the difference.

One thing I wasn't told when I purchased my unit was that Bosch dishwashers (at least the low end ones I was considering - between $500 and $600) don't have a dry cycle. I found everything still dries as long as you let the dishwasher sit closed for about an hour or so after the cycle ends. Also, my model has a much smaller capacity than the junk dishwashers I had previously -- I was told it is the result of having the steel tub. While the steel tub takes more room, it is the reason the dishwasher is so remarkably quiet, and having had incredibly loud dishwashers, I would rather do more loads and have the quiet operation. Honestly, this Bosch dishwasher is one of my favorite possessions -- nothing but Bosch for me in the future.

My only complaint about my Bosch is that it is so quiet DH opens it when it is running! It has a laser that shines onto the floor but he never takes the time to look. Otherwise we love it! We just bought a new one for our kitchen remodel b/c we wanted the cabinet front. It is our third Bosch and they have all been great. If you get one, take the time to read the directions on how to load it. Loading properly really does improve the capacity and cleaning.

I love my Bosch - it is so quiet, I honestly can't hear it running. It cleans very well too! The entry level Bosch dishwashers don't have steel tubs, so be careful there.

We had a very crappy GE that was installed by the builder. We have only lived in the house for 1.5 years but just could not stand the dishwasher any longer. It was loud, did not wash well and did not dry (actually had to clean out mold a few times). We had the GE maintenance man out three times with an arrival window time of 8 am until 5 pm (are you kidding me). He would look at it and tell me everything was fine.

We decided on an LG and paid $479.99 (sale price). We really did not want to spend more than $450 but decided this looked like a pretty good unit. Hubby installed it and we have washed 3 loads so far and it is quiet and seems to do a good job. We are not sure how long we are going to live in this house so we did not want to spend a lot of money on a new dishwasher.:rolleyes1
