Dishwasher Croaked!!!!!!!!!!

Well my POS maytag dishwasher finally died on me. Been waiting for it to happen since it sounds like an airplane in the house and doesn't clean very good. But what should I expect for a $700 dishwasher.
Anyway do you have any reccomendations for a new dishwasher that does a good jpb cleaning and doesn't sound like a 747? I really don't want to spend the money on something I hate Again!!!!!!

OMG mine croaked yesterday
mine was the dishwasher the builder put in this house when we built it 13 years ago! It was Roper!! LOL
I suppose I got good use out of it though, but now i have no idea what kind to get, oh and mine always sounded like a 747 too, we always referred to it as the "cement mixer"

I think most of the new dishwashers are quiet now. We have a Bosch that we love. Some have the controls on the top inside of the frame (so you don't see them). Ours doesn't, so it was cheaper than the top-of-the-line dishwasher.

we had a 1970's POS that died earlier this year. it was horrible!

we bought a fridegidare for i wanna say less than $300...the lady at best buy gave us a sweet discount! it's awesome and quiet!

but my son has figured out how to open it and press the buttons...i knew i wanted the squeaky door floor model with the controls on the top of the door.

I also have a Bosch dishwasher. I really like it--it is very quiet and cleans the dishes very well.

My neighbor has a Bosch also. When mine dies, I'll be looking at one too. Ours stinks. When we bought this house, it was less than two years old, not top of the line but one step down, Kenmore. They paid the same as what she did for her Bosch. Hers cleans though.
