Disgusting..........but cool?

Um, from what I know, its just a real body. Not an exhibit. :)

*gasps* Yes! Could you please PM the pics to me? Thanks!:goodvibes

The exhibit is real bodies. Its art made out of human cadavers. I'll send you some of the pictures. He doesn't have many pictures of his dissections (he's not allowed to photograph most of them) but I can send you some pictures that he's acquired over the years. I can also link you to his myspace. You can see more there.

Oh. Well, alls they told us was that they had a dead body(preserved of course;)) on a table and it would be disected then the doctors would go through the body and we could watch! :)

Thanks so much for taking time to get pics! I really appreciate it!:goodvibes :wizard:

That is actually pretty cool, especially if you wanted to beceome a doctor etc. Its not too much different than disecting animals only its a human who wanted there body donated to science to help our world. Have fun, I wouldn't think it would be to gross, minus the smell.
In health we got to see a brain, liver and lung from a person who smoked, drank and did drugs, it was very interesting!

Wait I'm a tad confused, its art with dead bodies? At a museum or something?

*shudder*

I cannot see a dead person...

THIS body will not be donated to science. :)

yes. Its a traveling art/science show. It teaches you about dead bodies, but it also shows you how beautiful the human anatomy is.

Hmm, that sounds interesting...But me being me, I wouldn't be able to see it, due to my...Billyness...

They're pieces like this:

Thats from The Bodies.

Its a male cadaver (aprox. 35) that had a fluid injected into his body that hardended all of his cardiovascular system to be similar to glass. He was then dipped in acid that eats protein. It ate away everything except the cardiovas system that you see there.

Its incredibly interesting.

That is actually really interesting. Amazing what technology can do..

AHHHHH! It was so freaky! I just got back and alls I can say is WOW! They had real bodies in big, metal cases then they opened the case and unzipped the bag and the person was just, there! They covered the head and the you know what. They displayed 2 bodies. Half of our group went with one, half with the other. They should a male and female. They showed the brain, heart, liver, ribs, lg intestine, sm intestine, kidney, liver, lungs, trachea, and then the muscles were of course showing because they cut into the body. But, the body was precut before we got there and it was llike a puzzle. They actually pulled the pieces out of the body and showed them to us! I was worried because they said it would smell awful. It wasn't too bad. We were given masks if we needed them. I didnt need one but the smell started to affect me but we were done by that time! So, if anyone gets the oppurtunity to go do something like this, go! Don't be afraid. It is a really good experience!

They have the human body exhibit thing here too. I haven't been yet, but I think I may go.

Why don't not want to donate yourself to science?

Glad you enjoyed it. Its really a once in a lifetime experience.

I don't understand the disgust some people have with the human body...I mean...you have one.:confused3

Can you please tell me how you get disrespectful out of this? This is obviously a person who willingly donated their body to science/study so children and adults alone could learn more about human anatomy. I don't see it as disrespectful at all.

I think it would be cool-ish. I have a best friend who would be compeletly jealous. I think it'd be cool to look in a body just to see what the parts look like but... I don't know... I don't really want to go into that field I guess.

I don't think dead body's should be on display.
It's just how I feel.
I don't have much reasoning behind this, yes, I understand what you mean, but to me it feels wrong. It's not what I think, it's how I feel about it.

I am glad you had a good time Brit.

Wow Shelby that place you went to sounds completly interesting. We don't have something like that here but if we did I would defantly go.

Something about it just boggles me. I don't know what.

I am planning on donating my body to science.
