disgusted ----- big ben....

Four weeks until Ben is back in action (on the field;). Let's hope they aren't 0-4 when he returns. I know they won't be 4-0, but at least 2-2 would be great!

From the hords of people at our sold-out Heinz Field , plus the thouands of fans tailgating, sporting their black and gold and waving terrible towels, plus many #7 jerseys, doesn't seem like the Steeler spirit is hurting too bad.

We're back and Steeler proud as always, with 1 win behind us.

GO STEELERS!!!!!:thumbsup2

Ray Lewis killed 2 people, was arrested for it, and eventually struck a deal for obstruction of justice. He never served a single game suspension. The NFL openly uses Ray Lewis for their promotion and marketing..

Obstruction of justice, NOT murder:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
You steeler fans are hilarious. If your "golden boy" is accused of wrong doing you throw out the "the innocent until proven guilty", but don't extend the same to rival teams. Ray was never proven to be guilty, so the statement that he killed 2 people is not substantiated, unless you happened to have been there and witnessed the crime. If you know what happened come forward or are you withholding evidence?:rotfl: Too funny.

My thoughts on Ben, he's a jerk, has a huge ego, and he may or may not be guilty, but none of us here really know the truth. Whether you agree with the suspension or not, it is what it is, and time will tell what type of person he really is by the way he handles himself in the future.

First, I'm not a Steelers fan. Second, I was pointing out two high profile cases where the athlete WAS ARRESTED for a crime and faced a trial/plea deal. They served NO suspension. Ben did nothing wrong, was NEVER arrested, and got a 4 game suspension. The point is simple, he was made a scape goat for the thugs that are the NFL of today for PR purposes. Actual criminals are getting away with no suspensions (see Indy case from last year and Vikings)

Which only recently has been enforced under Goodell. The previous commissioners didn't care and I wish they would go back to that. The commish has no business making judgements on the personal lives of players.

If someone gets convicted of an actual crime in court, like Vick, then take action.

i agree with you. in the uk, we only get nfl total access and the sky games at the weekend. what is common on these programmes is how "rigid" roger goodell is. he rules the nfl with an iron fist and im sure that if ben was guilty but not convicted, goodell would still have enforced very tough sanctions on him. i just wish sports here in britain and the rest of the world would govern themselves like the nfl does. lastly im not commenting on bens actual alleged offence just about how the ban came about. also, the steelers fans should be more worried that it took overtime to beat the falcons!!!!!!!!! unlike the redskins. come on mcnabb!!!!!!!!!!!!!

First, the steelers fan reference was for all the steelers fans who replied to your post with a :thumbsup2 or similar form of agreement. Second, ARRESTED still doesn't equate to GUILTY, neither does a plea deal. Third you made a statement as if you knew it to be fact( Ray Lewis killed 2 people, not Ray Lewis was accused of killing 2 people), and fourth, you made a statement as if you knew it to be a fact(Ben did nothing wrong, a non arrest doesn't equate to innocent) My point was clear, different standards depending upon "who" you are, where you are from or how popular you are. In Ben's case, maybe he is guilty and is lucky all he received was a suspension, and instead of being a scapegoat, he actually got away with a serious crime.

1-0 is good news! At least we know they won't be 0-4 when Ben comes back.

Your comment about "you Steeler fans" was in a direct quote to my posting, so the implied subject of you was myself. Your next mentioned not given the same presumed innocence to other players. My point was unrelated to that, it was simply showing that high profile players were arrested for far more serious crimes and never got suspended. Who cares if they were guilty, as my point was Ben's suspension compared to people actually being arrested. Guilt is not important in those comparisons.

As to Ray Lewis, I'll be sure to add the appropriate legal terminology from now on. I wouldn't want someone to confuse Ray Lewis the murderer from NFL player Ray Lewis the man who was accused of killing and struck a plea bargain deal for his involvement with those murders.

The implied subject was steeler fans. I was replying to the "general" thread, not to you personally. Guilt may not matter to you, but maybe to the NFL and others it does, but IMO it is relevant to what you posted, which is why I replied in the first place.

As for your last statement, you just proved my previous point:)

hes playing the week after the bye. do any of you think hell be booed considering its national tv on sunday night against the pats? if he is, i hope he takes it on the chin and accepts the disapproval and moves on. he owes it to you steelers fans and to the team and give it his all as a form of apology. we will get the game live at 01.20 in the morning on channel 4 and will record the game to watch on monday as i always do. big ben is not the reason that i will watch. the pats without moss are going to be in big trouble , i feel

The Steelers will be playing Cleveland at home after the bye (10/17 @ 1:00pm). They don't play New England until 11/14.

There might be some boos but I think it will be more positive. Steelers fans want to win more than anything. They did well with 3-1 without him but I think they will go farther with him than without. I listen to local talk shows and most fans seem to be happy he will be back.

He won't be booed at home, but on the road he is going to hear alot of chants of "She said no"....

I agree that he won't get booed at home. He was booed pretty loudly at a pre season game (Denver I think) and he didn't react.

I'm glad he is back and hope he takes the Steelers to the super bowl again.

I also hope it is this year as I will be in Disney for the parade!!!

Is he planning on buying them all tickets????

I'm hoping he does well because I want the rest of the stand up guys to have a great season, plus I'm hoping the 4 #7 jerseys I'm going to put on Ebay will bring me enough money to buy a UGA Hines Ward jersey, since Ben guilty or not, disgraced our little town so badly, I wouldn't be caught dead wearing black and gold here.:headache::mad:

I wish that he would learn the proper way to wear a baseball hat, he looks ridiculous with that thing on backwards.

ilk, he's a disgusting pig. Sorry, but he's a womanizer.

He's no Peyton Manning :yay:

You're right he is no Peyton Manning, thank goodness, considering he's won twice as many superbowls as Peyton.

We will have a great season, Thx. I sported my Ben jersey all around WDW a couple weeks ago and seen quite a few doing the same. Here's one Ben fan who's glad he's back. Go Ben and Go Steelers!
