Sorry for the whininess of this post - I just need to vent some

Maybe I'm just being moody, but I'm really am no longer looking forward to this June Trip. I tried to work hard and have things planned for us - making sure we have decent ADRs for the trip since well its summer and I dont want us to be screwed when it comes to dinner, however, the group I'm going with doesn't want them because they don't know what they'll be in the mood for. I'm going to keep the reservations because well its summer and I don't want us to be screwed over.

Also, in the summer, I believe in missing EMH because of the crowds associated with them, they don't believe me on that either.

This is my fiance's first trip to the world, I really want it to be a good trip.

And since PI changed there rules, I"m going to have many a lonely night since they all plan on going there and dancing. I won't turn 21 until July 10th so I'm stuck at the hotel alone.

Melissa - As a fellow "planner/organizer chief bottle washer" I feel your pain. It's ok to whine. That's what we are here for!! ;) (Just make sure it is MERLOT - I don't like white..... :lmao: )

I am the one that EVERYONE comes to for planning extraordinare...
And, 9 times out of 10, it comes back to haunt you. I am the poster child for "No Good Deed Goes Unpunished".... :rotfl: I'm currently experiencing it with DD 8th grade graduation activities... no one "stepped up to the plate", so I started the ball rolling - but always asking for everyone's agreement, ideas, etc, and I'm STILL hearing grief. grr...

Anyhoo.... Keep your plans, but be flexible. How many are in your group? Because, to be totally honest with you, last June we didn't have trouble getting dinner reservations... of course, there are only 3 of us... but we made reservations one or two days in advance... and a few right on the same day.

Even though I am a MAJOR PLANNER in all I do, we don't like to be tied to a formal schedule on vacation - we never know exactly what we want to eat - if we are having a good time doing something else, we'll skip dinner and have dessert later.. things like that. We've even be known to throw an entire day's plans out to sit by the pool and take a later trip to Epcot... and after experiencing the "heavenly beds" at the Dolphin, we decided to sleep in a few mornings instead of our original plans of being at the rope drops.

It's hard to travel with a "group" - :grouphug: even if you THINK you are all on "the same page", somehow it doesn't always work out! My sister and her family happen to be coming down part of our trip - and so far we've decided to meet at MK for one day... but I honestly think that will be it - because it is so hard to meet 7 people's needs and desires.

Good luck - keep your plans - and if they do leave you for PI - (which would be rude for more than one evening, in MY humble opinion..;) ) take that evening to relax from all that planning that you've done to make sure THEY had a magical time. :wizard:
:goodvibes

Cute cute!! But, I found a bunch of others online and was going to do myself... You'll just have to wait and see. And, you'll be coming up too...

I've noticed that the little Italian doesn't have one... but I'm not insulted or anything.... Just because my own little Granny, God rest her soul - lived to be 101 and a spitfire to the end - actually made those toilet paper dollies herself, no, not insulted, nope, not me... Left out? Nope, don't give it a second thought..... I'm fine... I think I'll just go sit in the bathroom now, with my naked toilet paper...... :sad1:

yearbook, explain to DF how you feel about the ADR and see if just to two of you can keep some of them for yourselves while the others go do what ever they want to do. Same with going to the clubs tell him how you feel left out of it. See if he is willing to do something different or expland it to the group how you feel and see if they are willing to do something different or see if they will do something that you would like to do and then they can go off to the clubs with out you.

I have tried explaining them about that and its just that they don't even believe me about PI being 21+ with the exception of the Adventure's Club & Comedy Warehouse. My fiance already told me he plans on going with his friends. He invited them to begin with so he feels we should be with them the entire time. Only night we will have to ourselves is Saturday since they dont fly in until Sunday morning.

I'm going to keep the ADRs, worse come to worse I'll go to eat there by myself and explain to the podium that my group members won't be joining me.

I'll go hang out at Epcot or Magic Kingdom at night to keep busy

They had a bunch of Ithacas in stock at our Dick's... I was checking them out. Since I love my Athens so much I was wondering how all the other flip flop style crocs are different. :confused3

I'll have to check out Dick's up here for them. Or maybe you have them because you live in Ithaca! ;)

So what's everyone up to today? We're gonna go see the new Shrek movie. And then I promised Antonia that we'd have dinner at McDonald's so she could get a Shrek happymeal toy. So we're having a Shrek day! And hopefully we can get to the park at some point to practice skating again.

That sounds like my kind of day:thumbsup2 I wanted to see Shrek this weekend, but we have a birthday party to go to today. I want to get some of those Shrek glasses from Mcdonalds too.

yearbook--- I think you need to keep your head up and don't let them ruin your trip. I think once yall get there, it will be really hard to be unhappy! I mean, Disney is the HAPPIEST place on earth!!!! You need to let them go and try to walk into a restaurant and see if they'll get seated--- they won't. Not with a large group..... Then they will realize that your ADRs are their best bet at eating a sit down meal!

That must be it! :rotfl:

Oh, and NICE avatar! That is the funniest scary doll yet!
Just so y'all can see "me" close up....

Hello everyone... my have you all been a bunch of chatty ones.... the last few days have been crazy here... and I am really running off to work in about 15 minutes... but wanted to say hello.... so hello.....

Maggie went to the prom last night... she had such a great time... glad its over though... yikes the dress, the hair, the nail, the jewlrey, the shoes, the phots.... its like a darn mini wedding.. but she had fun and thats what matters... then both Maggie and Daniel had NYSMA... that is New York State Music Association.. the kids prepare a piece of music and play infront of a a judge... it is how the state honor bands are selected.... Daniel played yesterday and poor Maggie had a 9:30 am playing time today - after being up all night for the prom.... oh well.... Daniel is in 8th grade and is pretty talented and thought he would really try a difficult piece... he chose a piece of music that is a college level piece... and usually a sophomore in college level... and he is in 8th grade... well as much as I hate to say it I really felt he was setting himself up for disappointment... but he pulled it off and scored a 97% - A+ - the highest in school.... I don't know who was more surprised... him or me... Maggie did well... she played a very contemporary piece of music that the judge told her going in the she (the judge) didn't like this type of music... needless to say she was very critical and didn't score her well... she received an 89%... oh well... you can never tell what will happen.... she was fine with it though - she knew she played well and it was just the opinion of that judge... she really has such a positive attitude :)

DM - love the new photo work your doing.....:artist:

Kari - I am glad the kids liked the postcard ( and don't listen to that DM... she is always trying to stir up some trouble:stir:

Renee - congrats on the retirement.... sounds like you will be doing alot of what I do:drive: driving the kids around - high school is a lot of work for us parents:lmao:

Well I gotta run... gotta show a house at 4pm.... here are a couple of photos of Maggie and Mike...

Wendy your daughter is beautiful. I'm glad she had fun. I remember prom that was like two years ago.

Mine was Old Hollywood and the art teacher did so many of the paintings, I wish I still had some pictures of it on my computer. It truly was beautiful and we went out with a bang like we wanted to. We're the rebel class and we wanted to go out on top and by gosh we did.

Wendy - Maggie is beautiful! Did they go out to dinner and, if so, where?

BTW, I can set you up with a scary doll too..so watch out! :lmao:

Well, we are back from the new catfish restaurant...it was good but EVERYTHING was very greasy and lunch for the 4 of us was $44 and we all drank water!! We were disappointed...we'll give it another try sometime but I don't think it will be somewhere that we frequent.

Wendy - Maggie looked so pretty last night...I know she had a great time. What instruments do Maggie & Daniel play? Amanda decided that she wants to be in band next year (6th grade) so we are going to the school Tuesday night to try out instruments. She wants to play the clarinet but we'll see what they say that she is "best suited for".

DM - the new dolls look great!! I hope Alec did well on his belt test.

Wendy--- beautiful pictures!!!! His eyes match her dress... They look so darn cute!!!! Are you sure they're that young??????

LizA-- Man, you had me cravin' catfish for a minute, but then you said it was all grease! That makes me mad.... Catfish can be done so good and a little extra grease just screws it up!
