DISers in Oregon???

Portland Oregon here! :wave2:

Only two more days until I see my daughter (who's lining in L.A.) and the MOUSE!!!!!!

Well technically I'm not from Oregon buuuuut I'm right across the Columbian River in Vancouver, WA!:flower3:

I live in Boring which is East of Portland. Went to DL in December and planning another Early December or Early 2009!:cool1:

I currently live in the SF bay area, but will probably be moving to Oregon in 09. Dh and I are tired of the HCOL, arrogant people, and crazy schools. He works for Symantec and I work for The Container Store. Friends tell us Garden Home would be a good compromise. We were there in Nov 06 visiting friends/scouting the place out. We really like it there! Our only concern is gray skies...we lived in OH for 5 yrs and each winter had serious problems with Seasonal Affectiveniss Dissorder...but didn't know that at the time. Any input, help, support, etc. would be GREATLY appreciated!

Thanks for letting my highjack ;)

I am from West Linn and am a native Oregonian. The weather was beautiful today! Can't wait for sunny Disneyland in May!:yay:

Hi neighbor! I'm also in West Linn, and ALSO going in May!

The weather is gorgeous today. Dh and I are working in the yard, and the kids are plaing in the water. The wet, rainy winters really help me appreciate beautiful spring days like today!

We're known for rain in western Oregon (eastern Oregon is considered high desert) but I honestly don't mind it because we have beautiful green landscapes year round as a result. I've actually missed Oregon rain when I've lived elsewhere... but I may be an oddity. :rolleyes1 I do remember one co-worker with SAD who had special lighting in his work area to help him as well as getting a work area near natural lighting. One thing I'd say is different than Ohio (from what I've heard of OH) is that we don't get much snow so winters are mostly mild even if wet. On the other hand, summers are also fairly mild and don't have the humidity many areas get.

I rarely feel trapped inside because of the weather unless it's especially cold or pouring rain. My DD (6) plays outside as much as she can but I seem to notice the cold more than I used to. I'm sure that has nothing to do with getting older. :confused3 At this point, I can't imagine moving from this area.

It's amazing today! DD had a soccer game and the poor kids were feeling the heat. They're used to wearing layers and I saw more than a couple removing underlayers (without taking off the oversized soccer tees, of course. ;) ) DD and I stopped at the Dollar Tree to get water guns for her to use with her friends down the block. :yay:

I have been lurking for years. And this post made me post! I live in Tillamook too! I never would've thought with it being such a small town.

No way!!! That is awesome! I love that there are fellow Disney freaks in my own back yard!
Isn't the weather phenomenal today?? I just got back from taking the kids out to Cape Lookout to play at the beach....

not oregon but a quick 30 mins north of portland here and yes it made it close to 80 here today was great makes me more excited for summer!!!!

I live in the desert-of-a-town The Dalles but miss my native home of Hood River!

Hi everyone~

We live in Dallas, west of Salem. And I am always amazed when people say they can make the trip in one day; takes us 1.5 days min :)

Karen

This may be kind of off topic, but I am noticing a LOT of posts from fellow Oregonians. If you are currently a member of the Beaver State (Don't laugh! That is really what they call it! :rotfl: ) who are you and where are you???

I am Valerie, and I live in Tillamook! Guess what? It isn't raining today!! :cool1:

I am formerly of Vancouver, WA (which should be annexed by Oregon!), Gresham, and Beaverton.

I've since crossed over to the darkside and live in California.:hippie:

LOL! Well, we could technically make it one day, but luckily for us we have family in Fresno so we always stay there and visit before making the last little jog the next day.....Here to Fresno is 16 hours, Fresno to Anaheim is four......So it would make for a REALLY long day.....:drive:
