Well fleagle I found you very entertaining throughout this entire post.... plus you even brought magic and smiles to the ones that didn't make it into the top 20 with your DIScademy award idea. So kudos to you on that and "shenanigans" (I can't get enough) that you weren't put through. But all is not lost.... I have a few video tricks up my sleeve for tomorrow nights gala awards ceremony.

Now no cheating Kenny and digging up my youtube page and spoil what I have in store. Muhahahahahahahahaha...... pirate:

In any case, I would like to thank you for your kind thoughts. As my candidacy ends, I would like to extend my congratulations to all who entered, my thanks to Disney and Careerbuilder.com and my sincere best wishes to those who have advanced. I look forward to cheering you all on.

:faint: :sad1:

Hi all,

I haven't read the last few pages, so I don't know if anyone else has come forward, but I'm the unfortunate recipient of a "you didn't make the top ten" email. Aw shucks.:guilty:

Good luck to all who did!

:faint: :sad1:

Hey everyone, I'll have PLENTY of free time to work on those avatars this weekend...if you know what I mean!

:faint: :sad1:

Next, I'd like to acknowledge a category that, while often overlooked, never the less faced some extreme competition this year. I am of course talking about the best Mario Lopez look alike. In my mind, this video exemplifies the best of what this category has to offer:

"Best Mario Lopez Look-Alike"? :rotfl: (When no category fits your favorite, then just make one up! :thumbsup2)

I'm actually happy to see that "Mario Lopez Guy" got a little recognition. (His video was one of my DD5's favorites -- because of the plush Mickey voice-over at the end!) I thought it was funny and could have made another good "Low-Tech" or "Best Supporting Actor" (is awarding a stuffed animal a stretch? :rolleyes1 ) nominee.

As well as entertaining the masses, I'm thinking that this little DIScademy exercise is giving us all a renewed appreciation for the big task those judges faced while wading through 1,300 video applications...

Finally, a category that is near and dear to my heart. Voted on solely by those who proudly call themselves Haunted Mansion Butlers and Maids, in recognition of general coolness (and trust me, we know cool) ...

{audience nods heads collectively in acknowledgement}

the best (and coolest) Haunted Mansion themed video of 2008:

'Glad to see this one, too! (It was good!) :thumbsup2

...Too many candidates -- not enough room for winners! :sad2:

Oh, I think I'd better add that some categories do a better job of demonstrating how much "housecleaning" was in order before the judges could actually go about the business of seriously searching for the Top 20. :rolleyes1

Yes, but we also have to give everyone an opportunity to return from work and check their emails too.

Just a little detective work, learning from the master, that he was the one who said he would be back (and has mentioned in the past about not being on late at night).

Trippy is oddly quiet too. He was allover this thread this morning.

Again, hmmmmmmmm............wishing them the best!!!!

No stuffed animals were in! You can blame my husband (haha) I narrowed it down to about 8 for each category and then I let him make the final cut to 5 and the stuffed mickey lost out so I am glad to see that he got some attention because that video was very cute. I think my husband was jealous that his "mickey voice" is not as good  But I have to give him credit, he does a great Stitch.

I cannot make any predictions on the top ten because apparently I already would have been wrong about three!:sad2:

My husband just gave me the "are you still on that thing" look.

He has suggested that I channel this energy into something else.

He has a point. I am awfully invested for someone who wasn't even Top 20.

Did Andy ever come right out and say he got a "thanks but no thanks" email?

He just said he would be available.

Maybe that was his way to stay on the boards without having to say anything?

Wishful thinking on my part? Otherwise, I just don't get the narrowing down at all.

Marshay pointed out that I have 100 more posts than anybody in the thread... so tell your DH that you have some catching up to do!

Stepping out for dinner --- have fun and catch you all later!!!

Ann :)

My wife said that "invested" is a nice way of saying "obsessed" like me.

You think that is bad? I am now at the "hiding" stage, and "not mentioning the drama" stage with my DH. Otherwise, it will be white jackets at my door.:upsidedow

Not one to be depressed for long, here's the sunny side of things:

We just booked our trip to Disneyland, CA for the middle of April. We'll be driving down the 11th and coming home the 16th.

Oh, and I've got THIS contest entry I did for the Heinz Top This TV Challenge-- I can hope this one makes it to its "Top 10."
