great idea!, but Dana got his via email. Anyway, I'm going to go console myself with food while I eat lunch (anyone else regret buying too many girl scout cookies???)

So far, I only regret buying them from my 16-year-old cousin. She hasn't brought them to us or even called about them! I ordered enough that I can't justify buying "just an extra box" from the girls outside the grocery store.

To be honest I don't really recall how they arrived. It's all a hazy blur. I think that the documents came by Airbourne Express for some reason. I seem to recall the red and black logo on the envelope. They did stick with the same delivery method the entire time.

I'm not convinced that there needs to be any further info sent to go from the magnificent 20 down to the wonderous 10. Regardless of what Kennythepirate might say.

I also believe that "the sponsors" HAVE contacted at a minimum the Top 10 and perhaps a few more already.....but just to review information and all.

I tend to agree, that they have all they need! Didn't they already do the background checks and all too??

My vote is for "email" packages and phone calls, and later in the afternoon as in the Top 20.

Okay I have laughed so hard this morning reading everything on here I think I pulled some muscles! Everyone has been doing such a great job with the nominations and Ursula's song was spectacular. I can't wait to see all the winners.

Honestly! I cried first...then just laughed...guess I got a taste of my own medicine!

Been there! Done that [whole technology-induced laughing & crying "fit"]! My computer-editing software fizzled after I'd devoted a bazillion hours to perfecting a family video. I'd selected my favorite footage, picked the right music, trimmed the video to fit the audio and was in the process of adding a cute, little photo slide-show at the end... Although I'd saved the project several times throughout the process, I was never able to recover my work. .... ANY of it!

Before I could laugh... I cried. I pleaded with my husband, the technology "wiz," to "do something." Ultimately, the project was lost forever, and my husband decided that it was time to upgrade to a more stable, professional-grade editing package. (Now, if I could just motivate myself to master the stuff... )

It is just a consolation prize (Monopoly game) from the local radio station rep who bagged on me for the family game day and cancelled it last minute (grand prize trip to Disney World).

I won a scrapbooking contest earlier this year...actually I didn't win the grand prize, I won one of the first place prizes. First place was a years supply of Skinny Cow ice cream!!!!

The grand prize was - a trip to Disney World!!

Well, my friends, it is with a heavy heart that I inform you that I did not advance to the Top 10.

My friends, I was not asked to keep this to myself and so I wanted to share this news with you now. It is my hope that Sunday's announcement will be a celebration of those videos that DID advance, not a remembrance of those who did not. While there are 10 people who are disappointed today, their sadness is offset by what must be tremendous joy in 10 other households.
One of the great truths of the world is that it is a place of great balance. I take great comfort in knowing that there are 10 people who got closer to their dreams today.

I once had a similar experience as a young man. My father, trying to help me come to terms with it, told me that there is no such thing as a one sided pancake. I have no idea what he was talking about.

{general audience confusion}

But I suppose he was trying to teach me that same lesson. To celebrate the existence of joy, even when you are in sadness. When you are on the side of the pancake that is feeling the fire, you can know that the Great Spatula will soon flip you over and it will be your time to rise. That's either deep, or silly, or both.

I fear I've taken the pancake analogy too far.

Wow -- let me first say you did AWESOME with this post! Yes, both bittersweet and funny. And the pancake analogy was wonderful!!

Oh -- and the Brady comment was to die for!!
