I was wondering how others interpret the rules that say
"Content of Online Entry video clip is limited to an audio commentary by entrant describing why he/she would be the perfect candidate for the position of CMO."
Does that mean that everyone who submitted a video with someone else talking will be disqualified? What does that mean to everyone?
I will link my video here when I figure out how. (not enough coffee yet this morning)![]()
I can't wait to find out who wins!
I took this as that the entire video can't be of other people talking about the person for CMO through the whole thing, they actually want to see you and see how comfortable you are in front of the camera. So I don't think anyone would be disqualified for having someone else in their video for a small bit..... because why would they have the rule then about kids? Or at least I hope that my interpretation was correct, the first 10/15 seconds of my video is other people saying what they think of when they hear my name and they all reply "Disney"......My DH and I discussed that b/c we were going to include him in the video but thought we better not just to play it safe. My assumption was that they wanted to hear the "CMO" talk, not someone else...
We also saw this:
"The presence of children in the video clip is allowed, but only if entrant is the parent or legal guardian of such children."
So any who included their grandkids, neighbor's kids, classmates or random kids at WDW in the background would also technically be disqualified??
FIVE more days!!!!
I also think Disney wouldn't post the videos if they didn't meet the rules, right? We can hope that if a video was on their site, then it is actually being considered?

Actually, according to the rules some videos will be disqualified. I saw one video that ended with a classroom full of kids supporting the person. The rules clearly stated that the only kids in your video could be your own.

Yeah, I saw that one, too and wondered about it. Guess that proves me wrong...

I'm not sure if it proves you wrong, but I wonder if they will follow the rules they set. We will see!![]()

I hope they do or else why write the rule? Oh well, like you said, we'll see.
Well the problem with allowing for several kids to be in one person's video is the liability issue. Let's say Disney wants to use the winner's video for advertising. However, there's a classroom full of kids shown in it. Disney then has to go to the parents of every single child shown in the video and get the written consent to show the child in the planned form of advertisement (my guess would be a commercial), which is a pain in and of itself. Now throw in the fact that some people are greedy and would either sue the winner for exploiting their child so that the winner could win or demand that Disney pay their child for the use of the child's image and/or voice. Take that and times it by even just 5 children and you have one major legal headache.
Very good point!![]()
