OK, it is TOO quiet, if someone knows something and can't tell, well, I understand...just send a crypto message like:

The Dumbo flies at midnight
or
Someone left the Dole Whip in the rain
or
Something!!

Just like the Motion Picture Academy has an earlier awards ceremony... I plan to have my own early announcements.

The first Chairman's Award will be announced this afternoon. I'll try to announce another each day before Saturday.

We have one project to take care of first:

What is the award called? The Academy Award is the Oscar, there is the Emmy, the Grammy, the Tony... what's our award?

The DISnee?

Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhh... I'm hunting wabbits...

Oh wait... great! Now someone is going to post on a blog that I was talking about Warner Brothers characters on a Disney board... :rolleyes1

hahahaha... It is pretty quiet though. I guess phones are ringing all across America, huh? *checking mine* uh, no missed calls... NO SIGNAL!!!???? aaaahhhhh... I need to go stand by the window.

I have some catching up to do. Wow. Been so bogged down with work this week. Oh and a quick sorry to HMF. I didn't mean to leave you hangin' yesterday. I signed off right after my last post. I takes me about an hour to get home everyday, and I wasn't able to get back to the boards.

One thing I know from last year's contest...THE SPONSORS like to keep you off balance. We didn't receive our schedule for Dream Job until just before we left.

So quiet you can hear a Jiminy Cricket...:earboy2:
Cheshire Cat got everyone's tongue?:ssst:

In case you want to see the Minnie Cat:

I can't even imagine what it feels like for all of you Top 20 right now......

Maybe they have made "some" type of contact to the top portion of the top 20 to try and narrow that down to get to top 10 --- and maybe, the 'contacted subset' is just not able to share right now because they have been asked not to. And I am sure that it wouldn't feel too real because it wasn't THE email or THE call, you know?

Think about the female top 20 who was told to avoid interviews and such.....and that was just at the top 20 level.

I know that I felt very connected when I was contacted by CB (oops...insert sponsor) regarding my CMO entry and that was the day after the deadline. Long before top 20. And I didn't want to share THAT information. Just in case. Turned out to be a part of the transmission error thing, but you just never know.

Double edged sword the winners must be feeling (if they know). They would probably like to let their new "DIS" buddies feel some relief but that might also be handing them their biggest disappointment as well.

What if there were a 'contacted subset' group, and you were in the top 20, would you rather know or not know? :confused3

I think, if I were blessed enough to be in your place, I would rather not know if anyone had been contacted in any way. Live in hope for the week rather than dread.

I just feel for all you must be going through right now!!! :grouphug:

p.s. I was selected to be part of a family game day and the winning family was going to Disney World....they pulled the plug on the contest at the last minute. We had a 1/32 chance of winning......I had my bags packed! :upsidedow

Hey Kenny! I should know this, but how long was your Pirate Dream Job last year? Was it a day? Did I hear that right when I was watching the full cast video of last years winners that ya'll put together for this year?

Trippin'
It took several parts. It was a 4 day trip. The first night we had a dessert reception and were taken backstage to meet our director. We then had a special fireworks viewing with our families welcome. The next day was costuming, makeup, traditions class, photo shoots, and rehearsals. We were then invited to the media event grand opening of Finding Nemo Subs.

The next day was Dream Job. Costuming and makeup again, line up for grand opening of FNSV, led to pirate's lair. Lots of waiting. Perform one stage show and meet and greet guests on the island for about an hour. Final wrap reception with gifts.

Full details are on my trip report and myspace below.

Ahhhh...shucks. I really do not deserve it!...but thanks, HMF. For giving me the dancing banana...You are a real peach!

I am going to take another look at the videos and see if I can find any for your catagory. How many do you have so far?
I think right now I have about 7 so far.... I'm going to look for some more and then narrow those down to 5. And the dancing banana was for your rhyme about Hannah Montanna.... I cracked up at that.

Hey that was just too fast...HMF

For some reason I think your speech might go something like this:

"Winning is not a sometime thing; it's an all the time thing. You don't win once in a while; you don't do things right once in a while; you do them right all the time. Winning is a habit. Unfortunately, so is losing.

"There is no room for second place. There is only one place in my game, and that's first place. I have finished second twice in my time [edit], and I don't ever want to finish second again. There is a second place bowl game, but it is a game for losers played by losers. It is and always has been an American zeal to be first in anything we do, and to win, and to win, and to win.

"It is a reality of life that men are competitive and the most competitive games draw the most competitive men. That's why they are there - to compete. To know the rules and objectives when they get in the game. The object is to win fairly, squarely, by the rules - but to win.

"And in truth, I've never known a man worth his salt who in the long run, deep down in his heart, didn't appreciate the grind, the discipline. There is something in good men that really yearns for discipline and the harsh reality of head to head combat.

"I don't say these things because I believe in the 'brute' nature of man or that men must be brutalized to be combative. I believe in God, and I believe in human decency. But I firmly believe that any man's finest hour - his greatest fulfillment to all he holds dear - is that moment when he has to work his heart out in a good cause and he's exhausted on the field of battle - victorious."

just to provide an update on the non-technical award...I have about 20 so far and will narrow that down...some are just good ones that don't use any special effects and others are ones where technology may have let them down....I'm still refining them and will look for more later today.

o.k....whew....I'm back. Took a bit longer than expected, (remember, I'm not up for the technology award) but I believe it is a little better....at least you can see my "pirate"...

Great job Cal--and really cool that you would go back and redo! You had good use of a Mickey in there yourself! :goodvibes

tothesea wrote, regarding "Best Use of Personal Disney Stuff category": There are so many that have everything in the background. Anyone remember seeing some that really use the stuff in an amazing way???

Well, I think my Talking Stitch was pretty cute!:)

TC:cool1:

Yep, I remember your Stitch act--he was a part of it! :goodvibes
