No calories would be NICE!!! :thumbsup2

Okay, here's my dilemma...how much cash should I bring with me???? :confused3 My hubby is the one that figures that out and decides for each trip, I've never had to do that. So, it's just the 3 of us (I'm sure my mom is going to pay for her food), what would you guys suggest?? Any thoughts???

Shelby - some of it depends on whether you will be using just cash or whether you are going to use credit cards as well. The one year that we went without using any credit cards it was the 3 of us not on the dining plan and we took about $2000 we did counter service most of the time on that trip. On the last trip I took with just me and my mom and Brae we had the dining plan and I used just cash and I took about $1000 and came home with about $200 left I think. It all depends on whether the kids are going to have their own spending money too I think and whether you intend to buy a lot of souveniers.

Nope, I'm not planning on using a credit card, just cash. We don't buy much in the way of stuff, it's mostly just money for food. Becca will still order off the kids menu but Noah won't anymore. I have about $1100 put with our travel documents and I think I'll just plan on that.

We have groceries so a lot of morning we'll be eating in our room. I guess we'll see how it goes. I am bringing a credit card so if need be, I will have it available!

Oh and you're all going to think I'm crazy but I'm having another issue with me EYE!!! :headache: I swear, I just can't win! The other day it felt like something was in it all of a sudden so I looked and all and didn't see anything. But with all the looking/rubbing it ended up really red. Anyway, it's still not normal, it's not red but it's like the layer over the white of my eye (the conjunctiva) is a little 'loose' for lack of a better word. :confused3 I'm guessing it's slightly swollen. I've read that can happen from rubbing or from allergies. Geez, I don't know what to do!

I didn't wear my lenses yesterday hoping it would help but I noticed this morning when I went to put them in that it's still a little 'loose'. I'm going to call my eye Dr today, explain things about the eye and how I'm leaving on vacation and see what they say. I'm totally freaking out right now!!!

I called the eye Dr and I'm going in today at 2:15!!!

Dang, Shelby! It wasn't until I got my conjunctive laceration I got back in August that I could really relate to you. Eyes are the WORST to have problems with, I was willing to saw off an arm if it meant making the pain stop ... I'm sorry!

As far as cash to bring to WDW, I usually budget out $10 per day for snacks and $10 per counter service meal per day per adult. We usually come in under that budget, but I think it's reasonable. Plus, at the end of the trip, whatever is left over is a "pleasant surprise."
We also usually bring one big water bottle into the park and sip on that during the day, as well as a few snacks like nuts or granola bars. And I don't know about anyone else, but a lot of times, I just order off the kids menu, it's still a good portion, it's much cheaper and it comes with a drink and usually a small dessert.

Angey, I know...it's horrible isn't it? At least this time my eye isn't actually bothering me in any way. I just noticed that the layer over the white of my eye seemed a little strange. :confused3

Anyway, the Dr said I still have little bumps up under my eyelid. :headache: Looks like they never went away from the last time. He said the part with the white of my eye is because of allergies/irritation and it's swollen (a little). He prescribed a steroid drop (which I used before) and drops for allergies. Then he said I should not wear my lenses for 2 weeks.

:scared1::headache::confused3:sad2::sad1:

At that point I asked him if it would be horrible for me to wait a week to go without my contacts and explained why. We then chatted about Disney World for the next 10 minutes and he said, nah...go ahead and wait until you get back.

:banana::banana::banana::banana::banana:

So, at least I got it checked out, I know how to make it better and it'll be fine for the trip! YIPEEEEEE!!!

Great news that you got a diagnosis, Shelby ... and in time for your trip. At least you don't have to worry about it being something more.
Those steroid drops ... once my eye was healed, I had to be weened off of mine. I had no clue you could not stop those things cold turkey, like an antibiotic. I ended up being on them for six weeks when only needing treatment for three!

You know, I did know that about weening off of them, but the Dr never mentioned that. :confused3 Weird, huh???

My eye actually feels GREAT today, woo hoooo!!! And the layer that had been a problem isn't! :banana:

So, it hit me this morning that my trip is only a couple days away. :banana::woohoo::cool1::cheer2: I am BEYOND freaking out right now. I actually feel sick to my stomach. :rotfl:

I also just realized we have to leave for the airport around 3:45. :eek: Goodness. We're going to be dragging. LOL But once we get in our room at the resort, I may make the kiddies curl up and take a nap!! (me too!) ;)

Hey ladies!

Shelby, so sorry to hear about your eye. That really stinks. But very exciting about your trip!:banana:I hope you and the kids have a fantastic time!

Hope everyone's well.

Thanks. My eye is GREAT today which is a relief. I wore my lenses with no problems at all. :)

Becca just got done cheer practice and the only thing left is school tomorrow. My mom and I are going for pedicures if I have time and I'm just going to do last minute laundry and get the house cleaned up.

SOOOO excited. I'm ready for a vacation. :banana::banana:

Do you leave Saturday? We arrive in Orlando around 11 a.m. Saturday.

Have a safe trip!

If you are at MNSSHP on 9/29, we'll be the freaks in the bright orange tshirts with Mickey pumpkin heads on the front...my cousin made them for all of us!

Not sure if I'm going to make Richard Marx though! :(

Best I can do!

I'm going to share some news and I dare you not to fall out of your seats:

The company that just laid me off for no reason after I gave maternity leave ... I just got a company-wide email that they are being honored with an ETHICS IN BUSINESS AWARD by the BBB. SERIOUSLY???? OMG, if it wasn't for the fact that I'm keeping up being a "model employee" through my last day so they have nothing on me, I would SO fire off a lovely email to the BBB.

I'm still floored and I read the email 15 minutes ago.
