Okkkkkkkk...we're off and running!
So we ended the previous night at the Dress to Impress Deck Party where a couple of the guys made a surprise appearance....
We turned in around 3:30 or so and had to be up by 8 to get ready for our photo op and to get in line. We wanted to be towards the front so we could get it done with and have the rest of the day. The guys were a little bit late, so things didn't get started right away, but we were among the first 30 people in line so we were assigned to group 3.
MAN OH MAN! You think 5* is fast, that thing moves slow as molasses compared to this. You blink, and it's done. I know a lot of people complained about the brevity, and I admit, I thought it might be about as long as a 5*, but I can't say I was entirely surprised nor disappointed. I mean they had to get through 2,000 people in one day. It was going to have to be speedy! Plus I had had my own personal moments on stage and seeing Joey on deck, so nothing could top those experiences.
There are NO photos documenting any portion of this because we were not even allowed a wristlet. We could only have our room key in our possession...and they were dead serious. We entered the room and were told no hugs, no kisses, no autographs, nothing. I forget ALL the rules, but I specifically remember hugs, kissing, and autographs. Our group of 10 filed up. The guys were seated on 5 stools, from left to right: Joey, Jordan, Jonathan, Donnie, and Danny. Since Joey was first, he was the only one I actually got to say the word, "Hello" to and briefly shake his hand. We were supposed to file in 5 in front of the guys, 5 behind. My mother and I were in the row behind. She wanted to be next to Donnie and I wanted to be next to Jonathan. You could tell from the second we got there, the guys were just nottttt having it that morning. Again, I'm not saying I was disappointed, I'm just trying to describe the atmosphere. I think they might have been seasick. The boat was pretty rocky that morning...that coupled with a late night out imbibing...probably didn't have them feeling in tip top shape. My mom tried to say to Donnie, "Recognize the shirt?" Because I was wearing a Breakfast Club t-shirt. It was the one I had received at his launch party a week and a half prior. I'm not really sure he even looked at me (sunglasses on) but he kind of said, "yessss" and half smiled. Picture was taken, and it was over. Like I said, didn't get to say hi to anyone but Joey.
I think they actually UNDER anticipated how quickly they could move people through. Everyone seemed to generally follow the rules, and they pushed you in and out so quickly, they finished way ahead of schedule, which resulted in them pushing the start time for the B group to about an hour later.
Anyway, after the photo, we were STARVING. So we found our way to the poolside grill for some buffet breakfast. Then we wandered around a bit and went to look at some of the photos the photographers had taken of my mother and myself the night before. After that, I decided I needed some bonine myself. I wasn't seasick yet, but that rolling was starting to become a little more noticeable myself. We went back to our room and we realized just HOW tired we were. Knowing that this being the last night meant little or no sleep, we decided to take an hour long nap, then go to the pool and nap some more. Well one hours turned into 2. By the time we woke up and got our act together, we realistically had only about 45 minutes, so instead, we just got organized and packed (as much as possible anyway). Now, even though we had VIP, my mother wanted to try to get in the first row. (She has become quite the NKOTB fan during the course of this trip.) The previous night for the other group's concert, the first couple girls lined up about 3 hours prior to the start. We decided to do the same. There wasn't much else we were going to do anyway. So we ordered some room service and leisurely got ready for the concert and White Party.
By the time we got down to the VIP waiting area around 5:00-5:15, the line was already 15 people deep! (Our scheduled line up time was 8:30.) I thought we might be first, but I didn't anticipate 15. The waiting area was in a lounge, so we all were just sitting around and chatting. Then my poor poor mom....she had had a shrimp roll from room service. Well she all of a sudden said she had to go and fled the scene. At first I thought it was weird, but I thought she just forgot something in the room. She was taking an awful long time, so one of our friends held our places while I went to check on her. Turns out the shrimp made her sick.

I felt soooooooooo bad because she was REALLY looking forward to the concert. She yelled at me to go back down and she hoped she'd feel better by the time the show started at 9. I went back down and all the people we were hanging with were SO sweet. They all said we would save her a place and flag her down if she didn't arrive before we left for the theater. She actually did end up making it in time before we all walked down.
Now here is my ONLY irritation with this cruise. We were "gold" band people, meaning our assigned seating zone was row 1 or row 2. "Silver" band were designated for row 3. All of a sudden we notice a relatively long line of people with wristbands of all different colors (meaning assigned to other areas of the theater, NOT in the first few rows, some even balcony) Some of these people had won the raffle for front row previously mentioned during booking, which was fine. The OTHER people were all a bunch of people who whined and complained about something or other, i.e., the photo op was too short, etc....so to pacify them, Rose Tours just gave them all front row passes to shut them up. I was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO pissed!

Here we are, those that paid THOUSANDS for the ability to sit in our area, and the ENTIRE front row went mostly to people that whined. Literally...not one person that was DESIGNATED to get front row (other than the 3 $5,000/person owner's suite people) got front row. We ended up in the 3rd row, the "silver" bracelet row...even after waiting 3 hours. I know you all must think I'm really greedy, but I was just really disappointed with the way it was handled. All of us "gold" band people that had been waiting thought they should have let gold & silver in first, then let the whiners in to choose after us. They all still would have ended up with better seats, but not by penalizing us who paid. My only gripe!
Not much we could do about it really. So we settled into our seats:

Shortly after everyone was settled, the show started. For the life of me, can't remember everything on the set list. I know the opening few numbers were the same as the Spring concert set list: Call it What You Want, Favorite Girl, Right Stuff, the slow medley. But it changed up a little in the middle. Like I said, can't tell you exactly what was what, but I will say there were no brand new numbers. Some pics from the show:

At one point they decided they wanted to switch it up and do "I'll Be There"

So Donnie took the drums and Jordan the keyboard

Things started off fine, but I guess Joey got started a key too high. Because all of a sudden I think Danny went to get going and it just all fell apart. Joey said, "It's ok man, I didn't know WHERE they key was going either." Then Joey told us, "Now you REALLY can't tell the B group we tried to sing that song."
Shortly after, Joey sang "5 Brothers, A Million Sisters."

Since security caught someone videoing and went through each photo in her camera...I used the opportunity to catch a couple clips!

Donnie was given a "Pimp Cup"

Then they began talking to a guy in the audience, which got amusing:

Apparently he's in an NKOTB Tribute band. So Donnie invited him up to sing the next song. He could choose between Games and something else...clearly he chose Games since I don't remember the other option.

He actually knew all the dance moves too! When he started doing the moves Danny and Jonathan could barely keep going...they were doubled over in fits of laughter.
Then we sang Happy Birthday to Jordan:

Clearly I was his birthday wish....
Then they finished with a round of Step By Step. During Step 3, Donnie stopped, turned, pointed to me and sang, "It's just you and me." He really does know every last way to make a woman melt to a puddle. Even though he does it with 50 million people...still works. Gotta give him credit.
And off to the White Party we went! Joey showed up for a few minutes before anyone else was out:

I thought he would come out again later with the others, but nopppppe. That was it for Joey.
Then Donnie and Jonathan came out.

Jonathan left, and then Jordan came out. For the rest of the night it was only Jordan and Donnie:

Once Jordan was done singing along with Donnie and the rest of us, he decided to call it a night. I ran into him at the elevator on our floor:

And that brings us to the end...ALMOST....one last installment is still ahead!
