How was the meet and greet?!!!!! I read on nkotb.com that it was a HUGE turnout!
I was just coming here to post about it! Too lazy to retype, so here is a recap that I posted on another message board. I'll post pics soon, I am just really tired (just got home from Boston this evening), and want to go to bed.
We had such an awesome day Saturday!
We arrived at Newbury Comics in the pouring rain (leftovers of Hurricane Hanna), at about 4:30 a.m. We were about 100 people back in line. At 8:00 a.m. they started selling the CD's and handing out wristbands. After that, we went immediately to the autograph line, and sat there until 2:00 p.m. It was soooooo humid, yuck! It stopped raining though around 8:00 and only drizzled off and on after that, so at least it wasn't pouring the whole day.
Finally the line started moving, and I started to get REALLY nervous. When we finally got to the part of the line where we could actually see them, it was the most surreal feeling. These guys that we idolized for over 18 years were standing 8 feet away from us!!!
Going through the autograph line went way to fast, and I really don't remember much of it! Donnie was hugging everyone. I think he is converting a lot of people over to Donnie fans! He totally hit on my friend...he hugged her, and held her for a long time, and he told her how beautiful she was. (I mean, I know that is probably just Donnie being Donnie...but he didn't say anything like that to me!) Then he signed her CD, looked her in the eye, wrote "love" above where he had just written his name, pointed to it, and winked at her. Again...he didn't do that on mine! I'm used to that with her though...she IS beautiful and always gets that kind of attention.
Anyway...Donnie hugged me, and said something like "Hi....how are you doing" or something much more platonic like that. (Maybe he saw my wedding ring...I don't know, LOL!) Danny was next, he was really nice actually, and had a really warm, friendly smile. He was never my favorite, but now I really like him, he was very nice. Jon was more into it than I thought he was going to be, smiling and talking to people. After Jon, something happened and my CD booklet got ahead of me and was already at the end of the table before I got to Joe and Jordan. So I really didn't get much time from either of them, Joe shook my hand though, and Jordan was also nicer than I expected, he shook my hand too, and actually made eye contact.
It was over way too fast. But nine hours in line for 30 seconds of meeting them was MORE than worth it.
The staff people took the pictures as you went through the line. They aren't that great, but they are better than NO pictures. They did get one of each of our Donnie hugs. I'll post them soon, I promise.
Overall, an absolutely amazing, dream come true day!
