I was just coming here to post about it! Too lazy to retype, so here is a recap that I posted on another message board. I'll post pics soon, I am just really tired (just got home from Boston this evening), and want to go to bed.

We had such an awesome day Saturday!

We arrived at Newbury Comics in the pouring rain (leftovers of Hurricane Hanna), at about 4:30 a.m. We were about 100 people back in line. At 8:00 a.m. they started selling the CD's and handing out wristbands. After that, we went immediately to the autograph line, and sat there until 2:00 p.m. It was soooooo humid, yuck! It stopped raining though around 8:00 and only drizzled off and on after that, so at least it wasn't pouring the whole day.

Finally the line started moving, and I started to get REALLY nervous. When we finally got to the part of the line where we could actually see them, it was the most surreal feeling. These guys that we idolized for over 18 years were standing 8 feet away from us!!!

Going through the autograph line went way to fast, and I really don't remember much of it! Donnie was hugging everyone. I think he is converting a lot of people over to Donnie fans! He totally hit on my friend...he hugged her, and held her for a long time, and he told her how beautiful she was. (I mean, I know that is probably just Donnie being Donnie...but he didn't say anything like that to me!) Then he signed her CD, looked her in the eye, wrote "love" above where he had just written his name, pointed to it, and winked at her. Again...he didn't do that on mine! I'm used to that with her though...she IS beautiful and always gets that kind of attention.

Anyway...Donnie hugged me, and said something like "Hi....how are you doing" or something much more platonic like that. (Maybe he saw my wedding ring...I don't know, LOL!) Danny was next, he was really nice actually, and had a really warm, friendly smile. He was never my favorite, but now I really like him, he was very nice. Jon was more into it than I thought he was going to be, smiling and talking to people. After Jon, something happened and my CD booklet got ahead of me and was already at the end of the table before I got to Joe and Jordan. So I really didn't get much time from either of them, Joe shook my hand though, and Jordan was also nicer than I expected, he shook my hand too, and actually made eye contact.

It was over way too fast. But nine hours in line for 30 seconds of meeting them was MORE than worth it. :)

The staff people took the pictures as you went through the line. They aren't that great, but they are better than NO pictures. They did get one of each of our Donnie hugs. I'll post them soon, I promise.

Overall, an absolutely amazing, dream come true day!

that sounds great!! im glad you got your "face time", and i cant wait to see pics!! :)

I am soooooooo glad that you got to meet them!!! Can't wait to see your pictures once you get some rest!
oh heather- nice new avatar!! :)
Thanks... I only wish that you could see it better. That picture is so hot!

I think your friend should have come back at Donnie and said "Your autograph is not complete, I'm missing some digits here."

I just got this from a friend, in case anyone else was in the dark like me. DVR ALERT!!!

Behind The Music - LIVE???
Filed under: Music Minute > VH1 > New Kids On The Block

VH1 is trying to jump on the New Kids On The Block comeback hype with their own special.

They're planning to air a 90 minute LIVE special called New Kids On The Block: A Behind The Music Special Event.

The special will air on Sunday, September 28th at 8pm ET and the cameras will be with the guys as they get ready to perform at the TD Banknorth Garden in their home town of Boston, Massachusetts.

This will be VH1's first Behind the Music Live event, so let's hope it goes well.

It's going to feature the groups' history along with old photos and documents. They're also going to include current clips and footage shot by the NKOTB members.

The live broadcast will feature the first three songs of their sold-out concert, which you'll be able to catch on VH1's website the next day.

So, basically, it's just a regular Behind The Music but with a couple of live songs. Now that doesn't sound quite as exciting!

Behind the Music will show how the boys from Boston started off, with them later selling millions of albums, their split in 1994 and finally their reunion 14 years later.

I also have tickets for the Boston show on the 28th... :thumbsup2 Unfortunately my BFF who was coming with me just got put on best rest until 36 weeks...and will only be 35 weeks for the concert....now I need to find a back up to go with me in case she cant go....

Hi!!

I came across your post where you said you could send an invitation to the NKOTB forum. I was a member since April and in June it was gone. I'm glad to see that it is up and running again, I just have no idea how to get an invitation. If you are able to send me an invitation it would be greatly appreciated, unfortunately I do not have enough posts yet to send PM's, if you are able to PM me I will give you any information you may need.

I have been lost without my forum all this time! lol

Thank you so much :)

Just saw this thread and I had to jump in! I am a HUGE NKOTB fan as well. I never stopped listening to them. My husband thinks I am crazy, but I can't help myself! I will be going to the concert in Phoenix in October. :dance3: I scored great seats and I am soooooooo excited!
Nice to see how many other crazies there are out there!!! :rotfl:

Hi and welcome to the greatest thread on the DIS!!! Glad you found us!!! I think all of our hubby's think we are nuts, so you are not alone!:rotfl:

Have fun at the Phoenix show!

Is that your DH is in your avatar? My hubby is Army.

OK, does anyone else remember this one? I'm taken back to watching this on its first airing, thinking "OMG! Damon AND NKOTB??? I'm in HOT HEAVEN!"

Mickey Mouse Club appearance

The hairstyles in the audience are the best.

Will do... we are hoping that it will be close enough to her due date that they will let her go but I doubt it....

Okay, as promised, here are a few pictures from Saturday. The Newbury Comics people took the pictures as you went through the line. These are the only two they got that really show anything.

The first is four and a half of the guys, and the second is my Donnie hug! Eeeep!

That is awesome, glad you had a good time meeting them (I know how could you not):goodvibes

I've been crazy busy the last few days and been playing "catch up" on the dis/new kids (2 of my favorite things) but I am over there under hdtsmommy if anyone wants to drop by and say hi :yay:

Oh dear gawd! :faint:

:worship: :worship:

And as you can see...I was representin' with the Disney umbrella attached to my purse!

I admit I was never a Donnie girl (I fluctuated between Jordan and Joe), but uh...that has begun to change!

Donnie seems to be converting alot lately!:lmao:

I've always loved him but man can he be any hotter than he is at this moment!

see I was just checkin out Donnie and missed the Disney umbrella, nice very nice. :goodvibes

Yup, that's him alright. He was active Army for 10 years and is now in the guard. Where are you stationed?

I STILL have that on an old VHS tape. I saved all of them and have 2 or 3 full of stuff I recorded (including a Regis ad kathy Lee show my Mom let me stay home from school to watch.... when they launched their dolls! :lovestruc ) I also have some of the videos they came out with, like the Hangin' Tough concert, etc. Good times! I even get my son to watch them sometimes with me. :rotfl:
