My husband went and had a CT done yesterday of his abdomen. They found a golf ball sized gallstone in his gallbladder. Now how do they miss something like that on an ultrasound? I am absolutely floored. I don't know if it was hiding or what. They said it was trying to get into his small intestine. So he has an appointment with the surgeon on Monday morning to take that bad boy out. Hopefully sometime next week he'll be all better.

My dd and I and her best friend are having a girls weekend. My dh is in Canada at a men's conference, so Braelynn has basketball practice in a little bit and than I'm taking them out to dinner and we're going to stay up late watching movies.

Hi all! I just wanted to check in. I've been busy babying Fuzzie since she got home from the Vet after her surgery. Poor baby. I feel so bad for her. She was so groggy and was "crying" when Doug brought her home. Her back is all shaved and she has 5 stitches. They said the results from the lab will be back in 5-7 days. They said it wasn't an "obvious" cyst or they wouldn't have to send it away Now I'm really worried. I really hope it's just something harmless and all taken care of now that it's removed.

I also had to go to the store today, Shelby (I think you're the one who said you went today), WalMart no less, you're right about it being mobbed! Well, I am about ready for bed to dream about Donnie. (didn't there used to be a smiley with hearts?). Everyone have a good weekend!

A question for those with kids around age 5. My dd does not sleep very much. She will be 5 and a half in March. I mean she can go to bed at 7pm or 8pm and she's up at 5. She can go be bed at 10pm and she's up at 6am. It seems to be getting earlier and earlier. It doesn't matter if she has done something physical or been inside all day. She has swam for hours - you'd think she'd just crash right? Nope. She can go roller skating for hours - again nope. She goes to sleep fine. She just doesn't sleep very long.


She is not getting enough sleep. You can tell by looking at her and most of the time by the way she acts.

Am I crazy to think she should sleep past 5 or 6am? Our 1 year old sleeps later than that! I'm going crazy. When I was pregnant in 2007 she'd sleep til 9! (I remember because I was very grateful!) While I don't expect her to sleep til 9 7:30 or 8 would be nice occasionally!!

It's really kind of becoming a problem because we can't really make any "big" plans to do anything. Because I never know when she'll be getting up or how tired/cranky she is going to be during the day. I'm debating talking to the Ped's office but then I feel silly. Should I start enforcing naps on a regular basis?

Am I making a bigger deal out of this then it is since I'm not a morning person? It's 5 am for the love of pete!

My nephew sounds very similar to your DD, he will be up at 5m, no matter when he goes to bed. It's frustrating for my brother and they haven't been able to move past it. He doesn't nap so much, but if he sleeps in the car he still keeps to his early morning schedule. It's hard.

I'm lucky that both of my kids will sleep until 8am, DS will sleep as long as you let him and usuallyI have to wake him up. When we came back from Florida a couple of weeks ago he slept in until 11.30 am one day! If DD gets up early we do her a cup of warm milk and tell her that it's not quite getting up time and she will go back to bed. She is 3 though, but maybe it's worth a try. Is she waking to use the potty and then can't get back off?

Melody - Awwwww...your poor little critter. I sure hope everything is all right and the results come back that there's nothing to worry about. Keep us posted!!

Karen - I definitely would NOT enforce naps because then you'll just have a harder time getting her to sleep when it's time. I'd mention it to you Dr at your next visit. Is she hungry an maybe that's waking her up and then she can't go back to sleep? Thankfully both of my kids are good sleepers, Becca who is 5 1/2 this month needs to be awakened for school each day at 7. But she was ALWAYS a good sleeper. My DS9 though gets up earlier a lot. I think it's just his personality but he's not tired, I know he's getting enough rest. Just mention it and see what he/she has to say about it!

I'm lying in bed and haven't gotten up yet. The kids are downstairs and I can hear them chatting nicely. I need to get up and get going though. My kitchen is a MESS! I made chili yesterday and two batches of brownies to bring to the PineWood Derby so they can sell them at the snack area. (I can't help but think of Jordan whenever there's anything related to Cub Scouts)

His name is Anthony and he's SUPER cute, nice, and has an adorable voice. When he smiles He's got these dimples that just make you melt. I turn into a 12 year old when I see him. I get nervous and blush like it's my job. We have the whole I'm-looking-at-you-but-when-you-look-back-I-look-away relationship down cold.

I work in the TA and he's across the way in the car care center. There's a big glass wall so we see each other a few times a day...especially when he comes in the office to talk to his friend.

I am working on one of my many projects today. Wedding invites for a friend (somehow since I scrapbook I got nominated), getting things in order for a scrapbooking fundraiser for Autism, and all my "house work" projects- I should be busy doing SOMETHING at this point but here I am still sitting on the computer.
