The entire time I was at Disney World last week I had various degrees of leg soreness. I normally walk for an hour 5 mornings a week and during training for the Marathon Erica and I do one or two LSDs. This doesn't give me much soreness. Now that I've been back a couple of days my soreness is going away even though I'm back to training.

What could the cause of this be:

Jet lag from the long drive down and the time difference?

Being on my feet so long every day walking (strolling pace) through the parks?

Not drinking enouth water and drinking to much beer?

General change of routine?

I have a bananna on my cereal 6 mornings a week and this has potassium, could not eating the bananna on the trip be a factor. I still take a vitamin every morning?

Any ideas? Anyone else experience extra soreness during the trip?

I did not have any soreness during the trip but I did have too much beer...:upsidedow I also was sure to eat at least 1 banana every day to continue the potassium and lots of water every day too. I would tend to think that the long riding would have something to do with it and you should try some seated stretches next time to see if it helps (I do transcription and sit ALL day so I know about the dependent leg position thing). I would also say that the lack of potassium and the dehydration (aka too much beer ;) ) also had something to do with it. Did you wear your regular shoes? I have a pair of Earth sandals that are the only thing I wear besides my sneaks!! :cool2:

I wore my training/racing shoes every day for walking the parks. I only wore flippies to the pool. Not much room for stretching in the cockpit of the stang but I did massage my thighs some as I was driving.

I used to travel back and forth to Georgia in a stang so I hear that message loud and clear. :crowded: When I have to sit for 6-7 hours at a time at my desk I do toe raises seated and heel raises to keep the fluid moving in my lower legs. During the summer months (or when DH gets the wood stove too hot) my feet swell a lot. There were some other stretches that my SIL suggested for the plane but I cannot remember them all. I can check with her again and PM you with all of them this weekend. :surfweb:

Dave and Bill, I just PM'd you with the stretches. Let me know if they work! :)

For the REALLY important issue of the day................

What kind of 'Stang you drive??

My thinking would be all of the above. It was sure hot and humid a good part of the stay. The pavement you walked on all day was probably harsh. On and on...

Have you ever tried endurolytes (sp?)

I love that tag line about being immature forever. I resemble that remark. When I went back to work everyone told me they were so glad I was back, they said it was boring without me.

Lily I take electrolyte tablets after LSDs.

Are you sure it wasn't from Erica, Robert and crew kicking you to make sure you behave in the land of the mouse. ;) From all reports you were remarkably calm and didn't create havoc while on vacation.:lmao:

I would probably say it was from not drinking enough in the humid weather. I can notice that happening when I am in training down here.

Yes it was their fault, I like the way you think Bill. I owe you a beer in January.

I did get in a bit of mischief at the mini golf, but don't believe anything they say.
