We are considering booking the Elite package which includes the cabana and Discovery Photo package. Basically we save $100 off the photo package doing it this way. Is the photo package worth it however? What do they take photos of if you're NOT doing the dolphin swim (DH and I are doing SeaVenture)? Are the photos good quality or are most of them blurry snaps?

I'm in the same position you are in, only we are doing the dolphin swim and definitely want the dvd. So for me, I think it's a no-brainer to go ahead with the Elite Package.

DC has photographers stationed/wandering throughout the park, so it's just a matter of grabbing them to take a pick whenever you want them to.

Unless they have changed their policy since last August, SeaVenture photos are not included with the regular photo package. I believe the extra charge was about $50 if you wanted them added to the photo CD of your dolphin swim pics.

In past trips, we have seen photographers in the Aviary, in the lazy river, and in the FreshWater Oasis. In August, however, the ONLY photographers we saw all day were those taking pics during the dolphin swims. We opened and closed the park, but didn't spot a single photographer in any other area. It almost seemed as if they had discontinued staffing them elsewhere.

The dolphin swim pics are excellent. Crisp, clear, and close up. The quality of the physical prints are also excellent. We have never been disappointed with the photos, and love that the prints come in a nice Discovery Cove folder (a nice presentation for giving to grandparents, etc.). I always recommend that anyone doing the dolphin swim budget for at least the smallest photo package that includes the CD, because that way you'll have every single photo (not just the ones you choose to print as part of your package)...and trust me, you will WANT every photo. The largest photo package (which comes as part of the Elite package add-on) also includes the DVD video of your dolphin interaction, a poster (very high quality) of your favourite pic, and a lovely photo album that is specially designed to hold your 6 x 8 prints.

Hmmm, my comment about DC having photographers throughout the park was based on phone call I had with DC when I initially made my reservation. It would be a real stinker if they don't have a few people taking pics for you in the park.
