Aurora,
Those were wonderful reviews, would you say that you got your money's worth with the Wishes at the 2 wish places? We want to go to Citricos and the Yachtsmans steakhouse but we were nervous we wouldn't hit the $66.00 each mark (our wishes are about 33.00 each)

Also, I would just like to say that you should smack your room mate for the Beverly reference!! Once you have tried that you NEVER forget the taste!! YUK!!

Thanks so much for posting those, they were great!!

Snort, snort (making my happy little piggie noises)

I personally ate $88 + 25% tip & tax (Disney includes 15% and I tipped an additional 10% because the service was EXCEPTIONAL) at Citricos and I ate $62.50 + 20% tip & tax. (I left an additional 5%). So that was just dinner and my roommate ate as much as me.

This year both of these restaurants are two wishes each and we ate WAY more than $33 each.

Citricos and Chef Grey are Number One! Exceptional cuisine. For my 2003 trip, I wanted to make sure I wasn't paying more if I didn't get my monies worth. If you eat pricy items at expensive places, you get a bargain.

The Spa treatment at Grand Floridian was very relaxing and posh. You get the use of the sauna and jacuzzi as well as the treatment you are getting that day. They have comfy robes, slippers, tea, coffee, fruit, etc for you as well as hair dryers, hair products, etc. for after. Tip for your attendant is included as well.

Just wanted to make a comment about things like filet and lobster. I've often gone to restaurants (including Disney restaurants) where the menu didn't specifically say, surf & turf, but the waitperson may tell you about it. Sometimes, they don't tell you about it, but if you ask, it's available. I suspect that these things are available to anyone, IF you ask, but also ask the price if you're not on a meal plan. When I went to Fulton's I ordered surf & turf, not on the menu but offered by the waitperson, and didn't think to ask the price (my own stupidity), and it was practically the price of two full entrees!

Also, I've read several reviews about DM...many people who mention that they are on the plan prior to ordering are suggested expensive menu items by the waitperson because their tip will be more, since it's based on a percentage of the actual cost of the meal. So, it benefits both you and them, you get a great meal for a great price, and the waitperson is happy that they're getting a larger tip.

Sounds like a great plan that I hope to use someday! Please let us know what you end up using your wishes on!

My DH and I used the Discovery Magic Plan last October to celebrate our 25th anniversary. Here's a link to my review:

If it doesn't work, you can find it by searching on my name.

I do feel it takes some planning to take full advantage of the plan. We enjoyed it, and would probably do it again if the opportunity ever arose.

Have fun!

cstocks,

Thanks for the report, I enjoyed reading it.

If you used mostly 1 wish a day on dinner, what else did you use the rest of your wishes for?

My thought was that if we don't have enough to use the wishes on besides food, we might just go ahead and use one for lunches even though we might not really break even with lunch, but since we will probably save so much for dinner that it might still work out well.

We already bought tickets to Cirque Du Soleil so that is out for using up wishes.

Thanks again for posting the link!!
I love reading the reports!

I'm not cstocks, but...

We're doing Discovery Magic on our trip in December. We don't think we can eat two big sit down meals a day, so we're using wishes for dinner every night (and lunch on two days because we had extra). The other wishes are for some of the souveniers, spa treatements, Cirque, and 3 behind the scenes tours. Some of the wishes are better values than others, but over the course of the trip I think it will all even out.

Here's how we used our wishes (we had 12 each):

Coral Reef lunch - 1
Nine Dragons lunch - 1
Teppanyaki lunch - 1
Le Cellier dinner - 1
Bistro de Paris dinner - 1
Yachtsman Steakhouse dinner - 1
Brown Derby dinner - 1
Fulton's dinner - 2
Narcoosee's dinner - 1
Cirque de Soleil tickets - 2

Total of 12 each

I think several of these restaurants are 2 wishes each this year.

When I was planning, I pretty much tried to choose the most expensive restaurants that I thought DH and I would both like. There were a few (Jiko, Artist's Point) that I just couldn't fit in. I guess that gives us a reason to go back someday!

Thank you both for the replies, I really need to sit and work out a plan, although we have most of our days planned, I was trying to leave a few days to go where the mood strikes us to go, I know we should have PS's for every place we want to go to but I think in early December and with only two of us we should be ok.

I enjoy hearing anything I can on this package since I have never gone to WDW while using a package before, and of course want to get the most out of it that I can!
