There are several resorts on Bay Lake where one can rent small boats. Does anyone think it's possible to get away with renting one, taking it over the Discovery Island (the one in Bay Lake, not the area in Animal Kingdom), and getting out for a little while? That place has been closed for a few years. I'd love to walk around and see what it looks like now.

I dont think thats a possibility. I dont think you'd be able to dock there and they also have Disney personell I believe in the water as well and they would ask you to leave the area if they saw you near the island.

I believe the Island is still used for private functions. It is not open to the public any more.

I knew it was closed to the public, but I didn't know it was used for private functions. I didn't know it was used for anything.

I believe it is very overgrown except for certain areas. You might not like what you find there in the way of wildlife!

Yeah, who knows how many alligators would be sunning themselves somewhere on the island :earseek:
