Discovery Island? Can we go there?

I was just watching a disneyworld sing-a-long dvd with the kids. It takes place in ft. wilderness and they take a boat ride to discovery island. It had flamingos and other wildlife in a zoo-like setting. Is it still there and can we go there?

It's still there - you can see it on the way over to MK.

WDW no longer allow visits though, which is a shame because we enjoyed a very hot day one July over there where it was more shaded and had a lovely little stand that sold nice cold refreshing drinks.

They closed Discovery Island when they opened the AK. If you remember, the center hub at AK is called Discovery Island.
