I'm going down to Florida with my DDs, ages 11 & 9, during Memorial Day weekend (flying in on Friday evening and returning Wednesday evening), we're staying on the west coast with my 90-yr old Dad, so suffice to say I'm going to need a way to keep my DDs occupied :lmao: .

We're definitely going to Busch Gardens, most likely on Tuesday, here are my questions:

1. Should we go to Discovery Cove?
2. Is it worth it?
3. Are there any type of discounts online?
4. If we go Memorial Day Weekend, which day would be the better day?
5. Would you go to Discovery Cove, SeaWorld (we've been) or Universal?

Sorry for all the questions but I'm trying to decide pretty quickly so I have all my ducks in a row. It's a surprise for the girls and my DH can't go because of work.

TIA

I have not gone to DC yet, but am anxiously awaiting our trip. The more I read and the pictures I see, I just can't wait. Neither can my girls, age 7 and 9. You can get $50 per person now. Everything for that day is included except photos. Alll food and drink you want... snorkeling...avairy...dolphin swim...ect... you can also choose the 7 day pass to Busch Gardens, Sea World or Aquatica. So even though it is a bit expensive, if you utilize the 7 day pass(you can use it before or after DC) then you would definitely get your money out of it. Since DC only has 1,000 admissions per day, really any day you go there will not seem crowded. I have yet to hear anyone say that they didn't just absolutely LOVE DC.

I have not been there yet, we are going April 22We can't wait:yay: :yay:
www.discoverycove.com. I checked the web site and for the dates you will there they do have a special $50.00 off per person.:thumbsup2 . It will be a holiday weekend when you are going and they seem to sell out faster on holidays .So if I was you I would decide soon and book it soon .

Great questions! I have some answers from my experiences....

1. Should you go to DC? ABSOLUTELY! If it works with your travel plans and budget, it is worth every penny!
2. OOps answered that above.... to add to it, this park limits admission to 1000 and staffs accordingly so you never feel rushed, crowded, or lost in the shuffle. So much is included with admission, from parking, to food, to the highest quality service!
3. If you book 45 days out you can get $50 off each person! Summer dates don't qualify but Memorial Day Weekend does. Check out their website!
4.Go the day that is best for your vacation... since they limit admission, you don't have to worry about one day being over crowded and wishing you'd booked another day. But, Memorial day may book up earlier that other times, so don't hesitate.
5. Having been to Universal, it is a tough choice but you really are comparing apples to oranges. Universal, including Islands of Adventure (my very favorite theme park in Florida!!), you should dedicate 2 or even 3 days to these parks especially during a busy holiday weekend. The rides and attractions at these parks are really great. It is a must do sometime!

Now, when you say you're staying on the "west coast," so you mean of Florida? Near Tampa? Because if so, you could get tickets to Busch Gardens free if you book Discovery Cove... not just for 1 day, but for up to 7 days.
After your Discovery Cove day, you can go to Sea World for up to 14 days!

So subtract the cost of a day or two at Busch Gardens Tampa and the Discovery Cove tickets will seem even more of a value!

It sounds like DC might just be the special touch your trip needs!

I absolutely  your photos!

We're staying north of St. Pete so I've got the tickets to Busch Gardens so we'll have our "water/snorkeling" fill as well as our roller coater fill - yep, we all love those roller costers.

I booked it!!! My Dad was cheaper since he's a Florida resident :) Even though he won't be swimming with the dolphins, he'll enjoy the beers! :lmao:

Now, I really can't wait and I can't wait to see my DDs faces! It's going to be VERY hard to keep the secret of our trip. They've been complaining that they haven't seen their Paw-Paw and I'm not telling them that we're going down until the day we leave and I pick them up early at school. My DH is now jealous that he can't go :rolleyes1 . I've already started pulling shorts & bathing suits even though we're not going for a couple of months :rotfl:

Congrats on booking your visit to DC! You and kids will love it!

Say "HI!" to Thelma for us!
