As you can see from my signature, we are planning to go back to WDW next year, and we are taking some friends with us who have never been before AND we are going for 3 whole weeks.

Already really excited about this, and on Saturday evening we had a planning meeting to discuss what sort of things we wanted to do.

One of the major things I have wanted to do for ages is swim with dolphins at DC, but DH & DS have never been that bothered, so it seemed a lot of money to spend.

Anyway, it would seem that my friend's daughter is also as keen as I am to swim with dolphins and has already saved up enough money to pay for it, so 5 swims and 2 non-swims were booked over the internet on Saturday evening.

Postman knocked on the door this morning as there was a letter for me to sign for and GUESS WHAT????!!!????

DISCOVERY COVE TICKETS HAVE ARRIVED.

How brilliant is that, and what service. Well impressed.

All I have to do now is keep them safe until we go next July. :rolleyes1

You'll be impressed by the service once you're there as well!
We did this last year and it was fab. The fact that they only let 1000 people maximum in each day makes it a nice change to the hustle and bustle of the other parks.
Our dolphin was called Diego because guess where he came from? A certian other Sea World Park!

You will have a wonderful day. We enjoyed it so much when we went in 2003 that we are booking to go again next summer. Its fab.

One tip for DC, if you want an early morning Dolphin swim then get there early, if you arrived after 9 you will probably find you are limited to an afternoon slot.

Yep - arrive early. We did DC earlier this month. We got there before 9am I think. Our slot was 10:15. Remember - you can take your snorkels away for free!

Check with DC on the phone, as their check-in hours are often different to operating hours - while the park doesn't open till 9, often the check-in desks will open at 8. With this in mind, we arrived at 7.45 for our day there to find check-in already open!!! got a 9.15 swim (the first one of the day), leaving us the whole day to relax and feel very wierd not having to pay for drinks, snacks and lunch...

Word of advice though - have breakfast before you get there. While they provide a continental breakfast, it's the size of the average mcdonald's happy meal - small pastries and what us in the UK would consider desserts - donuts, etc. croissants are present, and are about 2" or two mouthfuls, whichever way you look at it!

Lunch, by comparison, will come on a plate the size of a small country and there's no limit to how much food you eat throughout the day.

At check-in, you can get your credit card info stored on your ID badge so you don't have to worry about carrying cash or card for the gift store and stall - they just scan your ID and it's charged straight to your card.

Enjoy - I know you will..... :goodvibes:

We had Diego too and his Mum is called Sandy :thumbsup2

Tell us more about your experience. We are thinking of re-visiting SW on 2 days next time (we're only just back!!!) and perhaps a day at DC would be worth it.

It is an amazing experience with the dolphins and a very relaxing day. Swimming with the rays is fantastic and the lunch is really nice. We have only been once - I dont think we would go again - we see it as being a once in a life time experience - but hey we could change our minds :thumbsup2

You must buy the dvd of your swim with the dolphin

I would really like to do this when we go in 2008! :goodvibes

Just curious? How did you book your tickets? On line / phone? direct with DC?

Thanks
:goodvibes

Online direct with Discovery Cove :thumbsup2

Whenever you go I recommend a morning swim with the dolphins as you can enjoy your lunch better and then relax and chill in the afternoon.

By the way it certainly doesnt feel like there is even 1000 in this place - it almost feels like you have the place to yourself - it is lovely and relaxing half way through your holiday :thumbsup2

We booked direct online with DC. Agree that it's nice to get an early swim and then spend the rest of the day lounging. As others have said it makes a really nice break from tearing around the parks. The breakfast is continental but I think you can ask for something hot - at least that's what somebody after us did! The lunch was excellent.
