Hi,

We have never been to Discovery Cove before. If we get the swim with the Dolphin pkg, I think it includes 30 mins with the dolphins?

Is it unlimited time in the:

the 'lazy river' snorkeling part?

the bird sanctuary ?

the stingray lagoon ?

the coral reef ?

Thank you
Angela

Yup. All there rest of the park is unlimited time (until they close those areas at around 5:30pm).

The dolphin swim itself is about twenty minutes or so of video & dolphin-ettiquette lecture. Then you get in the water in a group of about 6-7 people, walk to about waist-deep, and do a variety of hand-signals, pet & feed the dolphins, do a few photo ops, then swim out a little ways to do a tow back. You will be about 30 minutes in the water, but your individual time with each dolphin is actually less.

It's an awesome park! Have fun! =)

Once inside the park you can spend your day anyway you like, breakfast is servered during a certain time frame, I am not sure exactly but you can eat anytime during that time. Mostly cold pastries, fruit, coffee if I remember correctly... this is not a hot breakfast. Lunch also has time frame to go eat... you choose the time as you feel like it. Aside from your structured time dolphin swim, you can do anything for as long as you want to. There is no limit, except when the park closes and the day goes by fast! Have fun.

Thanks guys, this sounds great!

Place sounds amazing - my family are due to visit on 11th July - cant wait

you will LOVE this place, trust all of us that have been!! We are going back this summer--CAN'T WAIT!!! :goofy:

Not trying to hijack the thread, but I can't find answers anywhere! Do all the areas have fish in them? What about the river? On their site I see people snorkeling there and in the Resort Pool.

Thanks!

Nope. There are no fish in the river / lagoon. It's freshwater and heated, akin to poolwater (I believe they use a non-chlorine treatment, though).

There are fish in the Tropical Reef and Ray Pool (other than the rays, sometimes smaller fish swim through the grate between it and the reef). But that's the only place you'll encounter live fish.

There are no fish in the dolphin tanks (except the dead ones you're feeding them). ;)

However, there are a couple of glass wall areas along the Tropical River where you can swim down and look INTO the Reef and see the fish & swimmers. I can't recall exactly where along the river they are, so you have to look for them. I think they may be near some of the fake 'clay jars' on the bottom, but I'm not positive.

=)

I have seen some stuff suggesting that when you do Discovery Cove, you also receive tickets to other parks (i.e. Sea World) as well. Is this true, and is it part of the base Discovery Cove price or an extra cost? Also, must the extra tickets to the other parks be used after Discovery Cove, or can you use them before hand?

You do receive tickets to the park of your choice. They are 7 day tickets and must be used directly before or after DC (or DC can be in the middle, but they are 7 days, whether you go one day in that time frame or not). The tickets are 7 consecutive days I guess is an easier way of saying it. We got the tickets for SeaWorld from DC....if you go to any of the choices AFTER DC, take your DC photo ID...that is your ticket. If you go to the park BEFORE DC, take your reservation number to the guest services window.

To give an example, say you were going to DC on a Wednesday. You could do DC Wednesday, then the extra park from Thursday until that next Wednesday (7 consecutive days, whether you go to the park all 7 days is up to you, but they will run out after 7 days). OR, you could do the other park the Wednesday before DC until that next Tuesday, and then do DC on Wednesday. Or you can put DC anywhere in those 7 days, but you will lose a day at the park.

Thanks. Also, are the 7 day tickets for one one other park, or can you do different parks over those seven days?

You can either have 7 days admission to Seaworld OR Busch Gardens. Or for a little extra you can have 14 days unlimited admissions to SW, BG and Aquatica.

xx
