I have heard great things about DC on Trip Advisor. I wanted to know some of your opinions. Also, I would like to know about the food and snacks. Is it buffet style or what. What kind of snacks are offered? I'm on the fence about DC because it is so expensive. I will be in Orlando 8/22 for 9 nights. Thank you very much for your help.

We have been to DC twice and it is definitley worth a visit personally I think everyone should do it at least once, just for the experience.

The dolphin swim is great and our kids favourite part but I loved being in the stingray pool and being able to feel the rays swim by your legs and feeding them from your hand is brilliant

I am very nervous in deep water so wasn't able to attempt the tropical lagoon but the rest of my family thought it was amazing so spent a good deal of time taking in the sun while they were off snorkelling, on our last visit there was a pregnant ray and whilst my kids were in the lagoon DS actually saw it giving birth - the staff had been monitroing it and were great getting everyone out of the lagoon immediatley and checking everything was okay. It actually had 2 babies whilst we weere in the park. It was something DS will never forget and a totally unique experience for him

As for the food it is plentyful and tasty. You get breakfast on arrival and lunch follows later. It is self service and lots of choice. The snacks are at all of the kiosks, you just stroll up and take what you want - cookies, pretzels, crisps (whoops sorry-i mean chips), fruit, muffins and just ask the staff for the drink you require its all free, even the beer

DC is great! we went in Sept. 07 and hope to go back again soon.

The food is abundant and good. You can get in line for the continental breakfast or the full lunch as many times as you want as long as it's open. Snacks and beverages are available all day.

Here's post I posed in March 08 about available snacks.

Soft pretzels, ice cream bars, chips, frozen lemonade. I know there was more, but I can't remember right now.

For lunch I really recommend the lobster salad-very good. As was the Cobb salad.

I loved DC and can't wait to go back. Only negative to me was no Coke. I have to have my Diet Coke, can't drink Diet Pepsi .

Yes it is pricey but everything is inc. unless you want to buy pictures or a DVD of your dolphin experience.

DD petting rays-note pink googles-if you wear prescription glass they even have prescription googles for you to use. My DD and DM said they worked great!

Coral Reef Giant Rays-after most people left the park.

They had everyone get off the beaches/water due to incoming storm. Once the storm moved away (never hit) they reopened the park and stayed open about an hour later-it was like having the park to ourselves!

Discovery cove is definately worth it. We did it in 2005 and the swim was brilliant. The food was great and whole park is just amazing it's like a little paradise away from everything and all the busy parks and best thing is they only let so many people in each day so it's not crowded

Agreed--it's worth every penny! There is something for everyone as far as activities and food. We would like to go back, but it's not in our budget for this year.

Worth every penny.

The food is a buffet and you can have as much as you want. It is just fine - but you wouldn't choose to go there for the food (not gourmet). The animal interactions however are spectacular! If you go to my TR (link below) there are links for our DC day. It was our favorite thing of an amazing trip! It is expensive - so check for discounts and plan to spend all day there. The one big hidden expense is the professional videos and photos - in retrospect, the photo CD would have been enough and the video if you want it.

You can have as much to eat of whatever you want. For lunch you choose your primary entree to start but if you want more than one thing, you just ask. For snacks, you go to the hut and take or request whatever you want, there is no limit. My kids were all over THAT. LOL.

If you go hungry at DC, the only reason is that you are having too much time that you forget to eat something.

Sorry, no pancakes or waffles. The breakfast is more of a continental breakfast. All cold items. Cereal, fruit, pastries, beverages, etc.

They do have frozen lemonade and I think they had ice bars but I really can't remember for sure. I'm sure someone else will remember for certain.
