Hi there, i'm new here and this is my very first post so please forgive my ramblings!

My family and I are visiting Discovery Cove in December, can't wait to go!

I have heard that DC are now renting Private Cabana's overlooking the Dolphin Lagoon? Is this correct info? Has anyone rented one or heard anything about them?
I'm curious if it's worth considering, costs etc...

DH and I are going with our two DD's 17 and 13, my parents, my Grandfather and his DW, plus my brother and his DW and two kiddies one 3 and the other 19 months.

Any information or tips would be most gratefully received.

That seems like an awful lot of people for a single cabana.

If I were you, I'd call 877-557-7404 and ask them about how many people the cabans accommodate. The typical poolside cabana at resort hotels starts getting crowded after four people.

Cabana areas are a good size. Large tent (@ 10x10) with plenty of seating. Then there seemed quite a few chairs not under the tents. These areas are in little pockets of sand surrounded by trees and landscaping making it very private and very clearly reserved. More than just a cabana, a little oasis :)

Remember that folks will be out and about all around the park all day, but this certainly would be a great way to "confine" the little ones when at home base.

Oh thank you kindly for taking the time to reply!
It's so nice to be able to see from the photo, my curiosity is getting the better of me the closer we are to going!
Thank you for posting the photo and thank you for posting the phone number i'll give them a ring. Hopefully we can book it in advance, with the younger members of the group it will be a good idea you're quite right.
I doubt we'll all be under it at the same time, but it would be so nice to have a little place to 'retreat' to out of the sun.
:)

We went to DC this past August, and never sat at our seats, we were in that water or doing something all day, so for us a cabana would not have been useful, I would think your DD will also be on the go all day, but it might be nice for your parents and grandfather. There is a lot of seating available everywhere, the cabanas are not centrally located.

we had that very one in october.......it was great !!

there was 8 off us 5 adults and three kids and there was plenty of room.we had a large table so we took our food back, and we stocked up the fridge with drinks and fruit for the kids.my mum loved it cos we all went snorkling and swimming and she had a wee nap.it was so private and quiet you actually forgot there was other people there.i am sure the people walking by had no idea we were there!!

it was sooo worth it for us.
