Does anyone no how much the pictures are that they take when you swim with the dophins. Thanks

There are several different packages offered at various price points, as well as the opportunity to purchase photos individually.

The largest package (the "ultimate" photo package) is $219, and some good information on the inclusions can be found here:

http://www.insideseaworld.com/insider-tips-discovery-cove-photo-packages

Remember, too, that this package would include ALL photos taken in the park (in the aviary, the lazy river, the freshwater oasis, etc.) and not just the ones taken during your swim :thumbsup2 . We got some amazing pictures from the other places within the park......equally as good as those captured during our dolphin experience.

The next package down from the ultimate is about $169, IIRC (that's the one we bought). We did not want the poster nor the dolphin swim DVD, so this was the better option for us. The inclusions were the same as the ultimate minus the poster, DVD and hardback album.

Prices for the even smaller packages go down from there.

We got the $169 as well. Below that level is an $89 package, but it doesn't include the photo CD. I wanted that CD.

Thanks for the link, Gina. Looks like a CD alone is $125. How many pictures should we expect to get for the day on this?

We were just there last week. The cd cost $150. On the cd we got all the pics from the dolphin interaction. So there was more than one pic of each pose. We had pics of each of the 5 of us on the dolphin pull, hugging the dolphin, kissing the dolphin also one of our whole family posing with the dolphin, one of just the kids with him, one of my husband and I with him. They are good pictures! Then we also had any other pics added that were taken around the park. We ran into an underwater photographer in the river and she took pics of us underwater with a cannon. In the end we had 92 pics on our cd.

Did you feel like the photos were good? (I don't mean perfect poses, I mean clear, good color.)

I hate that price, but the number of photos makes me feel a little better. I would love to have the dolphin photos you described.

Yes, the pictures were good. I hated the price too but once we were there we "had" to buy them. :) My advice, if you buy the cd watch all day for photographers and approach them and ask them to take pics. The more you get taken the better value your cd is. I do not regret buying it!

Here are two of the pictures we had taken

Ok, I'm caving in to the ripoff price because your pictures are fabulous! :) I'm looking for a way to cut costs elsewhere!

The photos really are of an excellent quality. Here's a small selection from our January visit:

From the lazy river, in front of the waterfall:

We certainly didn't get 92 photos like the PP, but we also have far fewer people in our family. I think we ended up with between 40 and 50, when all was said and done.

Your dolphin is very cute!

She was a darling. She really seemed to "get" that she was posing for photographs :rotfl: .

We had a different dolphin for the swim portion. A younger (and larger) male "teenager" who was appropriately named Rascal. Apparently he can be quite a handful, and has a little bit of "attitude" from time to time :lmao:. He was very well behaved for our swim, though......full of energy and right ready to tow us all around the lagoon. I think they had to bring in a stronger dolphin than the smiley female for our swim 'cause my hubby is a bit of a larger fellow (okay, more than a bit) :rolleyes1 .

Yes, the price of the pictures is darn near criminal. I'd say the quality is good. They have nice frames for $20, which I felt was a fair price, so I got a frame to feel a bit better about my purchase. LOL.

How did your day at Discovery Cove go? I haven't seen any posts about your trip and I remember that you were really concerned about the temperature, as was I. And you went the day after we went. Were you warm enough?

Thanks for asking! I need to post a longer narrative. We had a really lovely time. WE opted for the long wet suits and were very happy to have them -- wore them all day! Only got cold while snorkeling with the fish and rays. WE loved the lazy river and freshwater oasis. Our dolphin swim was at 10am and that was the perfect time because it wasn't windy.

So glad to hear that. Did you get to pick your swim time because I am pretty sure that is the time you said you wanted. That same day we tried Aquatica again and got to enjoy a couple of hours there and were glad we did.

No, we didn't pick our dolphin time. We arrived at 8am and were given the 10:05 dolphin -- perfect timing! Glad you got to check out Aquatica on a warmer day. We opted to skip Aquatica and spend a second day at Sea World.
