Hiya just wondering if anyone knows or can hazard a guess.

A couple of years ago we went to discovery cove and swam with dolphins. This year we are going and have decided we will go to discovery cove but just save a little and not do the swim. SO I have been looking on to buy tickets and have looked at 2 seperate ticket sellers and when you look at August you can buy NON SWIM but the option to swim is unavailable. This won't affect us obviously but I just wondered what was the reason. The dates are all coming up as blue so available but when you click the only option is none swim.

I just checked the DC website directly, and the entire month of August has availability for both the dolphin swim admission and the day resort only admission (which is the non-swim option).

I would guess it has something to do with the ticket reseller sites you are accessing. Perhaps they are only given a certain allocation of tickets for each time of admission for each day, and they have already sold their allocation of the dolphin swim tickets? Just a guess.

I am not sure when your trip is, but the price for the non-swim admission is pretty consistent throughout the month if buying direct from DC. $199 pp up to and including August 25th, and $179 pp for the remainder of the month.

How strange, I didn't check on the DC site, but I checked both of the UK ticket vendors that I've used on the past and on both, looking through the months, April has RED days which is supposed to indicate no (or limited) availability, but from then on all the dates through all the months except the odd day is blue. So I looked at August and when I clicked on the date I want it says NOT AVAILABLE for the dolphin swim option. Like I said we dint actually want to swim so our option is available, but I was just curious if there was a reason why the dolphin swim wasn't available.

Thanks.

Is it more cost effective for you to purchase through the reseller vs. from DC direct?

Well we will buy the ultimate non-swim which will entitle us to the day at discovery cove plus 2 weeks access to Busch Gardens, seaworld and aquatica and that will cost £157 with one of the vendors I would use. So not sure how that compares direct or if there is even that option. I've just looked and it's $199 for the day just to non swim which is £118 so, no it's a better option for us to purchase tickets from the uk vendor.

You do have the option of adding Busch Gardens to your DC/SW/Aquatica ticket when purchasing directly from Discovery Cove's website :thumbsup2 . Its an extra $22 per ticket, and pops up as an option as soon as you add your day resort admission to your cart. Its called the "ultimate" package.

The price would then be $221 pp with tax, or $235 tax inclusive. My converter gives me a cost in British Pounds to be 132 pounds (I can't find that symbol on my keyboard...d'oh!) without tax, and 140 pounds with taxes added in.

If you have a reservation direct with DC, you can also add on a 14 day unlimited parking pass. The that covers SW & AQ only is $30, and the ultimate parking ticket (which also covers parking at BG) is $40.

Yeah it's the ultimate package with the vendors, I didn't see that option sorry. So it's 132 for a discovery cove ticket including 14 days Busch gardens and seaworld and aquatica? We don't drive so wouldn't need the parking. We just get transport included with the Busch gardens ticket and use he Iride to seaworld.

Hey just checked on the site will save us £110 booking with discovery Cove direct so will probably do that. Thanks for pointing that out Gina

We are from UK also and found direct with DC to be the cheapest. Only possible cheaper option was to book with Expedia via Quidco for a possible 12% cash back. Their tickets were £153 so overall would be cheaper. However, I was worried because when you clicked through you only gave one persons name. There didn't seem to be anywhere to list the other people that would be going to Discovery Cove and I know everyone needs to be registered. Plus cashback not guaranteed. We booked direct last year and it all went so smoothly. Going back 17th August this year, cant wait.
