that's the only way I can describe our day at DC. I can't think of anything negative about it (except maybe the price-but the experience was worth it-priceless). The whole place is beautiful and even though we were active all day, it was a relaxing day away from the disney parks.
The dolphin swim was enjoyable for all ages--grandparents in late 50's, other adults, teens, youngest child 10. None of us are what I would call strong swimmers, but all can swim and none with fear of water or animals. You stand on sort of rock platforms in waist-deep water and dolphins swim up to you for a little playful interaction (they are in deeper water, but right next to you). All in our group then swam out into deeper water (two at a time with the trainer) for the dolphin swim. Remember you are wearing wet suits that keep you somewhat buoyant and if you'd like you can request a life jacket I believe. One person at a time just grabs the dorsal fin and hangs on! DGD10 was a little scared to go alone at first but loved it. STILL raves about it! (We went last May.)
Just as enjoyable was the snorkeling (LOTS of different fishes all around you) and the ray pool (stand very still in the water and gentle stingrays "fly/swim" all around you, through your legs).
There is also a river-type thingy that flows around the perimeter of the place and at one point you can get out and go into an aviary to see/feed beautiful tropical birds. Water is a little deep in places so you may want to put life jackets on little ones and even grab a foam "noodle" for yourself.
As I said, atmosphere is lovely--white sand beaches, palm trees, waterfalls--made us forget we were in Orlando and not on some Caribbean island for a day.
Food was yummy--counter service, but good variety. Nice outside dining area with umbrella tables and entertainment. Also, snack bars had really good coffee drinks and more.
We spent the whole day 9a-5p and could have stayed longer. Hope this helps and you get to go--ENJOY!
