We've been to Disney many times in December and have had to experience the "unseasonably" cold weather too many times for my liking. Are we nuts to try DC in December? It can't be that fun swimming if it's only 60 degrees outside and then I'll feel like we wasted all that money. Do they ever close if it's too cold? Do the wet suits really keep you warm????

We did this on a Feb trip and it was the coldest day we had on vacation. it was only in the low 60's. but it was amazing. the water was so warm that as long as you stayed in the water you were warm. and when you got out they had heaters by the tables when you ate so you stayed warm and the wet suits did not let the wind blow through so it was still a great trip.
we stayed from the open to closing.

We're going in December too. Knowing how crazy and iffy the weather can be in December, I'm cautiously excited about going to DC! That's good to know about the heat lamps!

We did DC in December two years back. It was cold and windy that day. High 50's. We just wore long sleeve wetsuits and we didn't have too much of a problem. When we were in the water we were warm. We are locals but we love cold weather, so it wasn't really an issue for us. We were there from open to close.
