We're staying at Jambo house. We're going with my sister and her daughter and the 4 of us. We're staying in a 2 br standard view but may change it to value. We're waiting for our SS window to open too.

Welcome aboard! I do have SSR questions actually. Like: Grandstand or Springs? I can't decide!!! We like to be close to everything so I'm leaning towards Springs but Grandstands busing has me wanting that too, any suggestions?? Or other request suggestions?

If you think the kids would prefer the pool with a slide, ask for Springs. If you think they'd enjoy the horse squirters then go for Grandstand. GS looks far away from everythign but it took me no longer than 5 minutes to walk up to the Carriage House from our unit. 7 minutes from our unit to the boat launch to DTD. The Springs doesn't have its own pool but is right across from the main pool. Both are great locations, IMO and you won't go wrong either way.

I really cannot speak to the bus system since we rent a car. So perhaps examining the buses will be a deal breaker.

Lesley, We were at SSR last month stayed at the Grandstand, the bus service was the best, we were the first to get picked up and the first to get dropped off. Much better than our stay in July when were at the Carousel. Although we were not right at the main pool, the quiet pool looked fun and the walk over to the main pool was not far at all. So my vote is for the Grandstand....

If you decide on the Springs you may find youselves standing on the busses.

One of the things about Grandstand that I liked too, was that there is a refillable mug drink station at the quiet pool too! We liked the Springs section too but in the end the bus situation sealed the deal.

Hello! We are about 20 minutes north of Cincinnati. We've been reading your trip reports for quite some time and we always enjoy them. Looking forward to reading the PTR and hearing about your plans for your summer visit! We'll be staying at SSR Nov 23-28 - less than a week from now

i'm in! i'm excited to hear more trip details. we stayed at SSR last april/may and LOVED it. it was so pretty. and convenient to DTD too! ask for congress park and you can walk to DTD. so nice!

Sorry, after I read your post I edited my first post and put in the dates. Our dates are June 22-July 7th. That is the plan. The June 22-28th part at AKL is already booked, SSR booking window opens on the 28th of November so hopefully we get the room as planned.

We have been going back and forth so many times on when to go back---with all these new discounts, we have nearly booked so many times, it is now TRAGIC!!!! We just keep running into problems and conflicts with Tom's work!!! BUT, I think we are going to be going back in September---hoping for Free Dining!!! I just hope I can last that long!!!!! We have a huge family trip with my family back to the Corolla beachhouse in the Outerbanks in June, so that has messed us up for going to WDW in June. BUT, I will be thinking of you guys while I am chilling out on the beach---we will be gone at the same time!

So excited to hear about your adults-only trip!!! Can't wait to hear more about it!!! I forgot to ask this last time, what is Tim going to do without the Dream Team to chase around?!?!?!?!? I hope he doesn't begin to grow bored now when he is at the parks!!!!! ;o)

Wow, that is going to be a major decision for us. I am leaning more towards Springs because the kids love the slide pool and Tim and I love being by the food court and shops, etc. Worst case scenerio we stand on buses, right? At least we have a chance of sitting on the way back. I am going to show the map to Tim and see what he thinks. Do you usually get your requests with DVC?

Geez, I can't decide between grandstand and Springs. Decisions decisions. Thanks for the info. I'll show the map to Tim and see what he thinks.

That is good to know. Does it stay open late or close down early? We are always filling up mugs really late at night.

I will be posting more trip details soon. I saw your pics of SSR. I am leaning more towards Grandstand and Springs for the pools and being close to the restaraunts and all for the kids - lots of walking from congress park, although that DTD info is tempting! Glad to have you along Dawn!

I know, the new discounts are so tempting! You should just buy DVC, makes a great Christmas gift : ) September would be awesome, maybe you could luck out with the free dining, but the 7 days for price of 4 is super tempting! I've never been to the Outerbanks but I'm sure it is fun! We go to Kiawah Island South Carolina and love it, headed there for Spring break, can't wait! Tim is actually REALLY bummed about the new promotion, he is so sad to see the dream squad go and none of our b-days fall on our trip dates this year which is a huge bummer! Wonder what they are doing with the castle suite, can't imagine letting it go to waste!!!
