Discovering DVC timandlesley style-A PTR, 19 days TRIP REPORT LINK PG.119!!!!!

Just wanted to say not all the pics are coming through. Funny about the spider!

I do want to thank you!!!! Thank you for your paper ring idea, even if we end up flying to Disney we will use this for our trip for Kiawah. Lauren has NO IDEA of a concept of time so that should help immensely. Thanks for the AWESOME IDEA!!!:thumbsup2
Lesley

OMG your trip to Gaitlenburg looks exactly like ours! The cabin we stayed in was a lot like yours! And we hit a lot of the same things that you guys did! Looks like you had a great time. :)

Thanks to EVERYONE for chiming in on the flying/driving debate. I am 90% sure we will be flying now. Here is the deal. We are refinancing our mortage (getting a great rate and going from a 30 year to a 25 year). As long as it goes through, which it should and we close this week, as we should then we would skip this and next months mortgage and I would buy airfare this week. I'll keep you posted.
On ANOTHER Disney note. I made some changes to our reservations today. We now are staying at AKL from June 21-28th. Remember I had added on one night on the 21st at Saratoga Springs using our Developer points, well I decided that was stupid to stay one night there, then switch to AKL and then back to SSR. So I changed it today. That being said that freed up some more developer points that we HAVE to use by July sooooooooooooooooooo we now are staying at SSR from June 28th-July 8th instead of the 7th, so we have ONE MORE DAY OF DISNEY FUN!!!! :cool1: :yay:

Well, I am now going to post our Gatlinburg Mini TR below, so enjoy that. I'll keep you posted on the airfare!!!!!!!!!!!!
Lesley

That is awesome!!!

Flying is the way to go for sure!!

One more day of Disney :cool1:

Your cabin looked amazing. Hot Tub must have been heavenly

Never knew how much stuff there was to do there.

Looks like a lot of fun

Great family shot of you all in front of the water fall :goodvibes

Those race cars are adorable

I am laughing over your hiking comments b/c we thought the same thing! The maps listed LF as "easy", but we struggled up that mountain! And we have pictures on those rocks too b/c that's where we had to stop and rest about 10 times before we ever made it to the top:lmao: Seriously, that is NOT an easy hike. It IS worth it, but "easy", I don't think so. When we finally reached the point that we could hear the falls, I was a very happy girl!:rotfl:

Congrats on the trip changes, so glad you don't have to do a crazy resort switcheroo right at the beginning---AND congrats on the refinancing......especially if it is going to help free up some money to FLY!!!! YEAH!!! :o)

I LOVED the Gatlinburg mini-TR------looks like you guys had SUCH a good time! Your TR made me want to go plan a mini trip down there myself!! ;o) We also LOVE the Apple Barn restaurant---they have some really good wines there that we usually bring a small selection of home, and this amazing "salsa" that we like to pour over cream cheese and eat.....SO GOOD!!! I am salivating thinking about how good that place is right now!

OMG!! I just found your report - I have ALOT of catching up to do!!

Just wanted to say I am happy to have found your report - and look forward to reading about your first trip HOME :)

Looks like you guys had a great time in Gatlinburg. Sorry about the most expensive hot dog you've ever eaten! It's almost like eating at a ball game. That cabin looked beautiful!! Can't wait to see your purchases!!

Gaitlinburg looks like so much fun. I had no idea that it had that many shops or attractions! That cabin is so awesome.

Congrats on the extra night! How awesome!!!

I don't blame you for flying, yes it is more expensive, but the convenience is sometimes worth it! :thumbsup2 My DH refuses to go that far in a car, 4 hours is about all we can take! :lmao:

Hey guys! Just wondering if you have looked at the post about DHS on Fantasmic nights:scared1: This has me SOOO stressed! I have read about people waiting for Star Tours with 60 minute waits at 10:00am in JANUARY:eek: :headache: I have no clue how to try and "fix" this problem? Do you?:confused3

The hot tub was HEAVENLY! tim and I were discussing we wish we had one at our house. Glad you enjoyed the pics.

I know, they really need to change the verbage of the trail. We were hiking for over 30 minutes and thought for sure it would be right around the corner and another family coming down passed us and Tim asked how much longer and they said "you're about half way there", we couldn't believe it : ) But it was definitely worth it.

I agree, the more I thought about switching resorts first thing the more it made NO sense! Glad you enjoyed the mini TR, you really should go if you can, such fun. The winery was closed when we went, bummer!!!

I know, it really is pretty there. Yes, that is what the Village reminds me of too, very much like the World Showcase : ) Yes, Ober Gatlinburg has both skiing and tubing in the winter, we could see the snowy hill from our cabin. You take one of those old ski things up the mountain (wish I knew what they were called, not a lift but the ones where it is like a box that goes up the cable -boy I'm at a loss for words now) but it's super fun.
Lesley

I have, and we did freak out. BUT.......... my parents were just there on a Fantasmic night and the night they were there we found the article about what a nightmare it is so we called to warn them, but they walked right into Fantasmic about 1/2 before it started. They said it was crowded but that all parks were that week. So I'm not going to freak out over it. I figure if it's too super crowded, we'll leave instead of staying for Fantasmic. My mom said the good thing was they had the final round of American Idol at the same time as Fantasmic so that seemed to divert the crowds a bit. I'm waiting for the Tour Guide Mike best days to come out........... anxiously!!!

Big night for us last night.

We officially booked our airfare. We found out yesterday afternoon that our refinance was going through so we had the money to book it. OF COURSE by that time, just ONE day after we had found the awesome deal out of Cincinnati on Delta it was GONE!!!! The only thing they had was something getting us into Orlando super late which we didn't want, also they charge so much per bag. So........................ after a lot of research we found a great flight out of Indianapolis (2 hours away from us) that was cheap too. Luckily they don't charge for bags so that was a huge plus. We also found a park and fly deal at a Comfort Inn for only 89.00 which includes our parking for up to 30 days (and since we are gone for 17 days that is a BIG savings) and free breakfast. So we'll head up there the night before our flight, stay the night, eat breakfast in the hotel, and get a shuttle to the airport. I am so relieved this is done:woohoo:
CHECK!!!

Then our Annual Pass Vouchers arrived via Fed Ex yesterday!!!:yay: I was so excited to open the package and find them there!!!!!
CHECK!!!!!!!!

Love checking things off of the Disney list. Now that we added that day onto our stay it changes dining a bit too, so I need to look at that since our ADR window opens up in a few weeks. I'll update you when I make those changes. Now maybe we'll have a day for a Boma breakfast too since that comes so highly recommended:thumbsup2

I took pictures of all of our Disney Outlet Shopping buys, WOW, now that is a LOT of shirts. I will upload the pics soon and post them so be on the lookout for that:goodvibes

Poor Luke just got over strep throat before we left for Gatlinburg and the school nurse called me around 2 yesterday saying he had a sore throat. We took him to the Dr., no strep but a fever, sore throat and he's pale and achey, poor guy.
I hope everyone has a great weekend. :flower3:
Lesley

Gotta head back and read your Gatlinburg (I can't spell that) mini report. Be back later!!!
