Would appreciate any review of the Discover Atlantis tour and whether or not you enjoyed the experience.

We've signed up for this on our upcoming cruise and wondered how the ride over was (what did you see), the Dig itself (have read glass windows were not as clean for viewing as they could be) and what else you saw on the tour.

Many thanks.

Would be interested in hearing about this tour as well.

Anyone taken it?

Weve done the tour about 4 years ago.
Basically, the tour starts in the lobby, and walks you through the hotel, pointing out different features, and prices of differnt things in the hotel.(The bridge suite, the room between the 2 towers goes for 25,000 a night, min of a certain number of nights. The chandeleirs, in the lobby and the casino cost 1 million each. Theres 3 or 4 of those) and down into the "Digs" which is the aquarium. They tell you the legend of Atlantis as it relates to the resort, all the different fish and sharks that are in there, and and touch starfish and some other aquatic life.
After the tour, you have free run of the hotel, until the ship leaves.

What activities are there to do at Atlantis other than the waterpark and aquarium?

Is there things we should not miss?

Thank you, Truck. Appreciate the reply.

Actually, you don't get free run of the hotel, just the casino and shopping. To do the waterpark, you have to pay for Aquaadventure which is pretty expensive. After the tour, you can do the casino, shop, walk to Seaside Village (or whatever it's called). You can't use any of the "pay for" facilities like the pool, lounge chairs, slides, waterpark, etc.

We did this last month. As already described, you see the hotel, the casino (with some beautiful sculptures), then the digs (aquarium). We found the aquarium fascinating, not too crowded, with plenty of time to enjoy each viewing window. Plenty of colorful sea creatures. Afterward, we could walk around the pools outside, went to see the shark pool and another below ground viewing area/walking tube. Than back to the casino for a short visit, plenty of time shopping (remember no cash, only credit cards), then the comfortable and modern bus was waiting for us right at the front door for a direct ride back to the port area. There we could walk around the downtown/straw market, or return directly to the ship. The busses left to return to the pier at about 10-15 minute intervals through the afternoon.

DCL hired a good company for this; we enjoyed the ride, the guided tour, and the time to enjoy Atlantis.

We had the same experience as the other posts but we ate at the bar and had conch chowder. GOOD STUFF! The upside is it is a gorgeous resort. The downside is you only get to look at the amazing beach and swimming areas :(
We put it on our list of places to stay. :thumbsup2
