Discover Atlantis Tour / Disney Port Adventure Question

Hi there,

Looking to see if anyone has taken this tour recently through Disney, Discover Atlantis Tour.

I visited Nassau last year with my 2 year old twins. We got off the ship and went to the "Nassau port approved shops" directly off the ship, within the boundaries of the ship.

We felt a little unsafe there as people kept harassing us to buy stuff. The Nassau security officers were throwing people out that didn't belong there. We quickly returned back to the ship.

This coming trip the twins will be four years old. Does Disney walk you over to the bus so you won't be harassed? Is the bus safe? Where do the buses meet and drop you back off? Do you need to walk through the Nassau folks before/after you get back?

I have been to Atlantis and felt safe at their resort. So I am not concerned when I get over there.


Any info would be great.

We did this a few months ago on the Dream.

You walk out through the smaller shops and then board a bunch of small buses sitting outside the port. If you are worried about being harassed as you walk through the shops and out, it's not much of a concern because you will be with a (very) large group of others who are all clearly headed for the buses. Safety in numbers!

Board the buses, drive to Atlantis, they let you out and escort you and hundreds of your closest friends into the park. There are designated return times. You go back outside, board the bus. When it loads, they head back.

When you return, you're dropped off outside the boundaries of the ship (as you put it). I thought those were OK shops, BTW. Your mileage may vary.

If you are with a number of other people on your return bus, you again can use safety in numbers to avoid being harassed as you walk through shops and back to ship (plus, I think, things are just a little calmer at the end of the day than at the start).
