Depends on the kind of discount you are looking for. DC and AAA discounts are out for all of 2003. Code and AP rates usually come out about 2 to 3 months ahead of time.

Back in Aug I booked CSR for our Feb 1st - 6th trip with a AAA rate. We have 25% off. We are now waiting on code or AP rates to come out hoping that those rates will be even better.

It's the AP or Code discounts that I was wondering about. Guess I have a while to wait before those will be coming out for next June!

If you book a package can you use a AAA discounts? We're going Oct. 2004, when should I make reservations and when do discounts become available? Thanks.

Why do you want to book a package? You can usually get everything that is included in the package cheaper by paying for everything sperately.

My husband and I were on the deluxe package 9/20-10/7 and found that we did get our money worth. DH went on 2 fishing excursions, which normally ran $240., we went parasailing and would like to do that again maybe 2, or 3 times next trip. We took advantage of the many restaurants available to us. We went to at least 2 parks a day, did the water parks, saw three shows, did Downtown Disney, Disney Quest. Anyway, I think if we paid for everything separately we couldn't go parasailing more than once, or the fishing excursions 3, or 4 times in a week. I don't know I'm just trying to examine all avenues before making our next reservation.

We booked with AAA (our CAA) for the DreamMaker Gold
package and got a substantial discount (about 25% as well).
We went last year on the Deluxe Plan (2 teenagers+2adults)
and we saved all of our receipts. We took advantage of all
that was offerred and this time we figure we'll do wakeboarding, golfing and parasailing at least twice each. We really ate more than our share of food at character dining, expensive restaurants and dinner shows. For us the package was well worth it and I figure it will be again. Right now I'm waiting to see how the two packages (deluxe vs gold) differ. I'm hoping not by much but we booked for next May in September anyway (I will look for disc and codes until then as well).

Mom_Rules,
Thanks for your help, I think we'll do that as well since hubby is now talking about fishing every morning. He became friendly w/the guide & was able to go on the excursions at 5:15 am (ugh), while I was able to sleep in, so he is a happy camper.;) We can't wait til 10/04! Thanks again.

So mom_rules and monte you don't feel as if you end up paying more then you need to for your room or passes?

When I have looked into packages they always include Length of Stay Passes. So if you do not go into the parks on everyday of your trip your are paying for park passes that you did not use.

Also, what about the room prices. I have always found that I can do better with a room only discount. Also, do you let the package do your airfare and car rental? I have always been able to do better on those parts of the packages also.

If the both of you are able to save money by using the packages then that is great but the math has never worked out that way for us. :(

I booked our own plane fare because I did find a cheaper rate. As far as the Deluxe package, we do go to the parks everyday (sometimes 2 parks in one day), but we like the unlimited use of the recreation and feel if we paid alacarte, then we would end up spending more. Again, I'm just weighing our options out.

Monte-I agree.
We use the package for the unlimited parks, unlimited
food and unlimited recreation. I wrote before-
we saved our receipts and when I added everything up
we came out way ahead with the deluxe package.

We always book our rental car and airfare separately
We book the room and "Deluxe"pkg as a package and
find that it works out well for my crew.
