I think I may have been spoiled by using great discount codes every year we have been to Disney World. After just returning from our Jan. trip I am looking into a Disney cruise. We are hoping to take a four night cruise in Jan or Feb. Am I crazy to ask if there are ever any discounts or codes? :confused3 I am aware that it is less expensive to book well in advance, but any other tips? Thanks-

Sometimes they reduce prices on Category 12 staterooms when the ship is far from full. When they do this the fares can be very, very good but you will have to be willing to book a 12 (standard inside stateroom). The chance for an upgrade is good, but not guaranteed.

Other than that, DCL does not offer too many discounts. Early booking, as you know, is the best way to get the lowest fare, but since the ships sail full most of the time they don't have to do much discounting. It will be interesting to see what happens when the new ships come online and the staterooms more than double.

We cruised last week and we booked through dreamsunlimited. They had listed special prices and happened to have a week that we could go. I think Disney offered discounts because of the time of the year. Our cruise did end up being sold out, but you couldn't tell when you were on the boat. I checked there site, but the discounted cruises are only listed until the end of the year.

There's only a few times I've ever heard of cruises being discounted above what's listed on the website:

Sometimes a travel agency will get a package deal where they book a certain number of rooms. You will have to be flexible with the dates you cruise to get one of these.

Also, they will, at times, offer discounts for annual passholders and Florida residents. These are less likely, and usually only happen in non-busy times like September and January. It seems like your best luck is to be a Florida resident to get one of these. Again, you have to be flexible and able to go during seasons when school is in session to have a shot at getting one of those deals. A good travel agency, like DU, will keep an eye on your reservation and let you know if your cruise has a discount come out after you book.
